| 701 | The article reflects the problem of science education, which manifest themselves in school and in higher school. In particular, these problems are common to the schools and universities of Tomsk. The problems are manifested by the facts: poor results at final exams in school (average point at the final examination in physics is not high, for Tomsk it is slightly higher than in Russia in whole); weak natural-science preparation of pupils identified in the serious study; lowering of the pass mark for the students of technical faculties of leading universities of Tomsk. In addition, in the above studies was found low practical and technical preparation of students, which affects the training of engineers. The authors analyzed the proposals to solve the manifested problems. Part of the proposals concerns the introduction of a propaedeutic course of natural-science for pupils of 5–6 classes. The authors believe that such training is more effective in the study of the course, built on the basis of the most important natural subject – physics, rather than on the basis of integrated natural sciences course. Propaedeutic study of the subject, built in a certain way, contributed to the appearance of the motivation to study it. The process of such training is presented as an elective course (shows the program and, in part, the ways of working with students), where students are introduced to the great discoveries and the engineering, and consumer applications of these discoveries. The course is built on the basis of a joint discussion of the problems, updating of knowledge of students about the scientists and the benefits of their discoveries, the organization of observations and execution of simple model experiments. As a result, students gain some practical, technological and information skills. The article shows the positive results of the students, the appearance of their motivation to study physics. The results of the analysis of the problem of professional development of the individual and its self-determination allow to assert the need for the use of new forms of career guidance in higher education. To create conditions for personal self-determination, a well-built system of interaction between school, University and employer is necessary. One of the first experiments to attract students to technical specialties, namely the oil profile, was the organization of profile classes by PJSC “Rosneft” in the regions of Russia. The socalled“ Rosneft-classes” carry out pre-university training. In the process of teaching, students study physics, mathematics, chemistry in depth for the successful passing of the exam, also get acquainted with future profile subjects. After graduation, 95 % of graduates enter technical areas of higher education. As a result of cooperation with Rosneft, the idea to develop engineering skills was born, starting with primary school. At Tyumen Industrial University was launched the project “School of Engineering Reserve” for schoolchildren (grades 1–11), which contributes to the formation of engineering mentality at an early age. | 724 | The article deals with the structure of a polycode text, which is a complex formation of semiotically heterogeneous components that are inextricably linked to each other. The peculiarities of their relationship make an urgent problem in modern linguistics due to the absence of a unified classification of sign systems represented in the text. In the articles published on the internet portal “THE ONION” verbal text is combined with iconic information blocks – photo and video materials, whose interaction leads to the formation of new meanings. The novelty of the study lies in the fact that the existing types of components correlation are thoroughly investigated and classified on the above stated material. As a result of the research three main types of correlation of iconic and verbal components are identified and their ratio is presented in the text of the article as a bar chart. Duplicating (split into partial repetition and complete repetition) and complimentary types of correlation are considered to be the most common that can be explained by the peculiarities of news texts: the iconic component usually repeats or backs up the verbal information block. The third type of their correlation demonstrates close integration of the verbal and iconic components whose relationship can be of two types – relations of correspondence and relations of opposition. The research proves that in the polycode news text the verbal component plays the leading role, while the iconic component serves as a visual aid. | 732 | Introduction. The article deals with issues related to the understanding of the signs of Soviet culture in modern journalistic discourse. The features of the functioning of precedent ideologemes and precedent slogans of the Soviet era in the contexts of the National Corpus of the Russian language are analyzed. Ideologemes, introduced into modern journalistic contexts, act as precedent phenomena with reproducibility, super-personal character, axiology, and imagery. The goal is to analyze the specifics of the functioning of precedent phenomena of the Soviet era in modern publicistic discourse. Material and methods. The research is carried out on the basis of the material from the newspaper corpus of the Russian National Corpus. It considers about 260 contexts containing precedent ideologemes of the Soviet people and the working class, about 50 contexts including precedent slogans of the Soviet era. Taking into account the communicative-activity approach, the author analyzes the connotative and significative components of the meaning of precedent phenomena of the Soviet era. On the basis of textual associations included in the associative field of precedent phenomena, the features of their functioning in modern journalistic discourse are revealed, the conceptual, evaluative, figurative layers of their conceptual content are considered. The work used contextlogic, component, semantic and stylistic methods of analysis. Results and discussion. The analysis showed that the precedent phenomena of the Soviet era – ideologemes and slogans – are widely used in modern journalistic discourse. In journalistic contexts, the meaning of precedent ideologemes is being rethought due to the actualization of the evaluative and imaginative layers of their conceptual content. The article reveals the characteristics of the precedent ideologemes of the Soviet people and the working class, referring to both the nuclear and peripheral parts of their associative fields. Connotative semes in the meaning of the considered precedent ideologemes, formed by the context, contribute to the rethinking of their conceptual content. In modern journalism, the semantics of Soviet slogans is being transformed as a consequence of: 1) the actualization of the figurative meaning; 2) semantic devastation; 3) changing the target setting. Conclusion. The precedent phenomena of the Soviet era are used in modern journalistic texts both in a literal sense and in a figurative one, taking into account the rethinking of their semantics as conditioned by the contextual environment that creates connotation. The connotation is formed on the basis of the introduction of the precedent phenomenon into the context, which not only contributes to a change in the expressive-evaluative coloration, but also affects the significative component of the meaning of the precedent unit. At the same time, there is a semantic transformation of precedent phenomena that accumulate culturological information, the actualization of the evaluative and figurative layers of their conceptual content. In general, the precedent phenomena of the Soviet era contribute to the preservation of the style of Soviet journalism in the modern press and remain a significant factor in influencing the addressee, introducing political and ideological attitudes into their consciousness. | 735 | Introduction. The article is devoted to the problem of the lack of textual solutions that meet the emotional needs of modern students in school visual space. Texts in the educational space of schools are a flexible, multifunctional tool with which one can not only make the school more attractive, but also is able to conduct dialogue with students and their families. This dialogue is aimed to form loyalty to the rules of interaction between the individual and society, norms of environmental behavior and disposition of their resources, respect for other people; subjective position in educational activity. Materials and methods. The materials of the study were photos and videos of visual environment elements of modern Russian schools. The main method used in the process of researching text-based solutions in the space of educational institutions is qualitative and quantitative analysis. In some cases, the subject of analysis was not only images, but also texts. The article proposes a classification of visual solutions used in the school space (8 types of texts) and describes the method of group interviews as a tool for studying school visual solutions. Fixation and attribution of school texts was carried out in collaboration with students - teenagers. Results and discussion. The study reveals the content, style and authorship of interior design elements in modern Russian school. The article substantiates the possibility of using the process of creating “school texts” for the development of “flexible skills” of students. The modern visual environment of the Russian school is largely focused on the “preservation” of the traditional school structure, which provides a formalized perception of the school as a place where “educational activities are organized”, and the life and development of a person’s personality does not occur. Conclusion. To develop and implement these solutions, it makes sense to combine the efforts of specialists in the field of design, pedagogy, ergonomic psychology, philology and linguistics. The results of the study indicate a shortage of professional solutions in the design of modern school space. The article suggests ways to overcome these deficits in the framework of interaction between participants in the educational process. | 746 | Introduction. The features of the lexical representation of the idea of national unity in publicistic and advertising texts are considered. The relevance of the study is due to the current state of the field of social communication, in particular, the unlimited possibilities of free interaction between people due to the availability of digital technologies, as a result of which, on the one hand, various actors can in-fluence human consciousness through texts (for example, newspaper publications, advertising, etc.), on the other hand, different types of discourses reflect the peculiarities of people’s ideas about a par-ticular fragment of modern reality. Aim and objectives. The purpose of the article is to analyze what lexical means represent the idea of national unity in the media discourse. The object of research is journalistic and advertising texts. Material and methods. The research material was lexicographic data, text fragments extracted from the National Corpus of the Russian language and selected by the authors from media publications, polycode texts of commercial advertising. The methods of semantic-motivational reconstruction, com-ponent analysis, interpretation of contextual semantics, analysis of definitions were used. Results and discussion. Based on the study of the linguistic representation of the idea of national unity in dictionaries and speech use, the value of the non-idiomatic compound expression national unity is established, contextual markers of the idea of national unity are identified in publicistic and advertising texts. The expression national unity is considered in a series of synonymous units of national unity and national consent. It is shown that the expression national unity has a procedural meaning and pre-supposes the duration of action, and the expressions of national unity and national consent have a substantive meaning of effectiveness and a contextual synonym for national union. Based on the analysis of the definitions of the adjective national and the noun unity and their speech use as a com-posite non-idiomatic expression, the definition of national unity is formulated as ‘the state process of rallying the citizens of the country who have a common historical past, based on the interaction of the authorities and the people on the issue of solving the problems of state development and national secu-rity’. It has been established that in commercial poly-code advertising, the expression national unity is not used, but the idea of national unification is implemented implicitly. Conclusion. The authors identified language markers for promoting the idea of national unity in mod-ern commercial advertising, nominating common traditions, territory and some features of the coun-try’s socio-cultural life. It is noted that commercial advertising has significant opportunities for promot-ing national ideas; a research perspective is seen in the study of the educational possibilities of adver-tising discourse. Obviously, interactional communication requires the following certain communicative rules. Thus, verbal behavior as a certain series of interrelated speech acts is a model based on a strategic approach. While a communicant is creating a communicative strategy he implements complex thought processes that require consistency, clarity of vision and prediction of the communication process. The author suggests that the strategy is a behavior line that a speaker creates consciously and follows a certain goal. The characteristics of the strategy of evading a direct answer are given. It is considered that the communication strategy of evading a direct answer is realized through individual tactics. In particular, the examples of one of the tactics in this strategy – down-toning tactics – are quoted. | 749 | The paper is devoted to the description of one of the phenomena of the modern media space, namely fake news. To denote the thing under study a lot of terms are used in different scientific paradigms: fake news, false news, mediamystification, information attack, media-fake. The term “fake news” is considered by the author to be the most appropriate one as it coincides with the genre aspect of the phenomenon under study, it reflects the dominant role of the fake news usage as the leading instrument of information and psychological warfare. The author gives the characteristics of the structural, linguistic, pragmatic and discursive peculiarities of the fake news. It is pointed out that to some extent fake news may be identical to newspaper hoax but the latter is mainly used in the framework of the paper-based mass-media whereas the Internet makes it necessary to create new terms for denoting newly emerged phenomena. The terms “fake news” and “newspaper hoax” also differ in the scale of their consequences: the latter might be quite harmless while the former might provoke cyberterrorism. The author gives some pieces of advice how to distinguish fake news from real messages in the modern mass-media discourse. The set of these rules might be helpful not only for ordinary readers but also for the journalists, i.e. for those who generate news.
