The model of processes leading to distribution and competition of different information types is considered. The model takes into account the following processes: 1) competitive interaction; 2) self-competition; 3) self-reproduction; 4) information distribution in phase space due to diffusion. The results of calculations approve qualitative analysis of dynamics of similar systems performed earlier in other works. Also, conditions of domination of one information type on another are obtained in terms of the model. The result was obtained in the framework of the project RFBR no. 11-06-00160.

The article is devoted to the methodological problem of formation of historical linguistic competence of the foreigners studying the Russian language. The current researches on this issue are generalized. The work systematizes some main Pro and Contra factors of the inclusion, extent, methodological appropriateness of the historical linguistics lessons and tasks in the system of Russian training of foreign students. It represents the argumentation that the historical linguistic commentary is the optimal and the most effective form of teaching of the history of the Russian language for foreign audience. Some cases of its rational use are researched. In particular, one of these cases deals with the techniques of Russian words semantization. Etymological analysis is an effective method of semantization, which deals with the living connections of the word. Conscious awareness of the Russian language actualizes a conscious study of non-systemic facts of the Russian phonetics, grammar and spelling. Historical linguistic commentary for foreign audience also has great cultural potential. The internal form of the words allows understanding the Russian language consciousness and receiving objective information about Russian culture. Another actual problem is the adequate perception of authentic texts as products and representations of its era. The article results may be used in linguodidactics, methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language and the practice of teaching the Russian language to foreign students.

The concept of “the social potential of the youth” is seen as a set of interrelated characteristics, reflecting its personal creative social resources that this social group and each individual strives to develop and realize in social practice to translate it in humanistic values and ideals. The social potential of the youth includes the willingness of young people to fulfill social roles and functions, the social and cultural experience of social groups and of each individual, his social competence, the need and readiness for self-realization in social practice, initiative, responsibility, citizenship, moral ideals and values, social subjectivity. Formation of social potential is a function of the institutions of training and education as social entities, as subjects of state-legal construction; it is based on socio-cultural traditions of education, taking into account the social and cultural environment as necessary ethical, moral and spiritual principles, on the involvement of children and young people into social practice; on social control as an integral socialization of the individual. Education is carried out in concrete historical conditions as a result of the existing social relations and ways of life of the society. The main criterion for its implementation and realization is the degree of correspondence of the qualities and properties of a person to life requirements. On the one hand the development of the potential of young people involves the creation of favorable conditions for the development of young people’s capabilities, improving the living conditions and the quality of the social environment, on the other hand – the increase of competitiveness of the potential of the youth throuth development of social sectors of economy. The tool that can solve the problem of the formation of the social potential of the youth is the social pedagogy.

The article is devoted to development of a technique of training of foreign students in the Russian technical higher educational institution. The linguistic barrier is a basic reason which interferes with effective development of technical disciplines. The feature of technical disciplines is a large number of special terms and processes and the phenomena which can be described only by difficult technical formulations. The idea of this article is to search for methods to reduce the impact of the language barrier in the teaching of foreign students to Russian as a foreign language. The initial stage of training should be aimed at preparing students for training in the Russian-speaking environment. Preuniversity preparation became such a stage. Here students reach only elementary level. They are able to establish and maintain social contacts in standard situations of the daily life; they have a minimum of linguistic means, the vocabulary of such students can reach not less than a thousand of lexical units. After that the student passes to studying of special disciplines. The first step is training of the student for perception of special terminology. For this purpose foreign students were offered to study the bilingual glossary. The bilingual glossary included an interpretation of concepts in the Russian and the English languages. The reason of the choice of English is that it is an international language, in many countries it is the second official, most of electronic translators are adjusted to translate into English. The second step is the use of methods of visualization for the best perception of information. Illustrations (drawings, maps, schemes) and demonstrations (demonstration and studying of the device of special geodetic devices) were chosen as objects of visualization. The combination of these two acceptances in training of foreign students allowed to increase the level of knowledge of technical discipline considerably.

The article touches upon the problem of verbal representation of “civilization/barbarism” dichotomy in political discourse. The research aims at exploring conceptual metaphors and metonymies verbalizing the concepts which model the development of civilizations of Great Britain and the USA during the period of the First and the Second world wars. The research is based on P. Buchanan’s “Churchill, Hitler, and the Unnecessary War”. The methods employed include component, definition and conceptual types of analysis, metaphor modelling and critical discourse analysis. Complex analysis consisting of metaphor modelling, conceptual, definition and component types of analysis presents the following results: metaphor models (Civilization as Personality, Civilization as Expansivity, Civilization as Self-control, Barbarism as Degradation) verbalize the concepts of “civilization” and “barbarism” in a certain cultural-historic context. The identification of concomitant metaphors and metonymies (Great Britain as Cow, Great Britain as Great Lady, Great Britain as Debtor, Great Britain as Slattern the USA as Sheriff, Dresden etc.) verifies the data obtained. Moreover, the investigation explores the role of metonymy Great Britain is the USA as motivator for dynamic processes in discourse. The method of critical discourse analysis which considers discourse as a phenomenon constituting social practice establishes connections between discursive practice and historic events.

In the context of educational process organization on studying of Russian as a foreign language in the Chinese audience investigated linguistic potential of game technologies on the example of Russian phraseological units. Describes the difficulty and identifies the barriers encountered by Chinese students when dealing with phraseological units of the Russian language, selectes the tasks that can be solved through the use of game technologies (highlighting the common and the different in the culture of native speakers in comparison with native culture, the development of interest and self-reliance, the use of visual aids, technical equipment and computer equipment, communicativeness and practicality). The dynamics of the population-species of Anopheles mosquitoes in Central Siberia on trans-sect Tomsk – Achinsk – Lower Ingash – Taishet – Toulon – Bratsk. In all areas, the study found two types of malarial mosquito Anopheles messeae and A. beklemishevi. Is dominant everywhere A. messeae. Scope of A. beklemishevi first documented in the basin. Angara, 500 km to the east than observed to date. By latitudinal trans-sect from west to east in the populations of A. messeae identified two alternative trends: the decline in the diversity of options on the sex chromosome and increase the frequency diversity on both shoulders third autosomes.

The article deals with informational waves as a new notion of up-to-date informational and media paradigm. We picked out some types of informational waves, such as strong and weak in accordance with degree and force of influence on society; long and short according to duration of social interest to informational occasion, which stimulates informational waves. In accordance with form and character of informational waves’ spreading (peculiarities of their components’ realization in global communicative sphere) we distinguish such types of informational waves as cumulative resonance; cascade; funnel; prism. Innovative potential of educational institution is its resources necessary and sufficient for the implementation of innovations that enhance the quality of education. The author developed a questionnaire tool for estimation of innovative potential of the school. It includes an assessment of value-motivational, cognitive and intellectual capacities of the teaching staff, as well as information and communication-organizational and technological conditions in the school. The questionnaire tool has been tested through a survey of 332 teachers from various schools in St. Petersburg. The innovative potential of each school is assigned to one of 4 levels (from low to very high). The questionnaire can be used to assess the readiness of schools for innovation.

In the story Varenka Kovalenko sings the song The Winds Blow several times. In the song a young woman talks of her passion to her lover, or fiancйe who is separated from her and leaves either for different distant place, or even for exile. The author of this song is the Ukrainian poetess of XVII century Marusya Churay. We can see the shade of her fate casting on Varenka. Varenka’s brother Mikhail Kovalenko used to call his colleague Belikov - a Swallower, or Spider after the play of M. Kropivnitsky. It is established, that the influence of moderate low temperatures on using a cold method of calves cultivation stimulates haematopoiesis of young cows that is shown in rising the level of erythrocytes and hemoglobin, and also in increase in phosphorus in whey of blood for strengthening power processes and thermoregulation process. The increase of the level of cortisol in blood by the 15-th day of the research specifies the development processes of adaptation, as a result the exchange processes directed to the maintenance of organism are mobilized and this fast is proved by the lowered level of triiodyronine.

This paper is the continuation of the one, called «Russian Patronymics», published in this Journal earlier [1999, № 1 (10), p. 43-46]. The classification of lexical couples «genus-totem» is considered in it, that is very significant to understand bases of Russian ancestral anthroponymics. Some tens of Ants tribe of genera (one of 9 Great Rus' tribes), in which were established ornithological totems, have been considered. Objective characteristics, distinguished the Russian ancestral (generic) names from ungeneric, are enumerated here. On the example of the surname Ivanov it is seen, that this surname is characterized by all generic signs. The history of its arising is narrated in verbal stories. A number of old priest genera of Ants is named.

The research of features of fluorescence of dispersed photosphors in conducted on the basis of organic and inorganic connections of a europium and polymer films with their components at excitation of solar radiation. The excitation of luminescence of phosphors by UV radiation of the sun does not change spectral content of luminescence radiation. For number of photophosphors on the basis of ocsysulfide of yttrium, activated with europium watches change of intensity of minor bands in luminescent spectrum concerning the principal band, that it is necessary to allow for consideration of photophysical characteristics of corrective light films with their components. The obtained data allow to conduct calculation of intensity of luminescence radiation under corrective light films with allowance for its spectral content

The paper deals with the results of investigating the character of gender transformations of a personality of Russian young men and women. The methodological approach is close to the notion of gender personality in English literature when under gender personality the combination oh individual characteristics is meant describing a person as femine, masculine, androgine or non-differential (indefinite) type by psychological qualities and preferable patterns of sex-role behavior. Investigation included 310 students, namely: 140 men and 170 young girls aged 17 – 22. It is shown that in conditions of the up-to-date Russian society there exist the processes of learning gender models and behavior patterns by youth to be traditionally peculiar to opposite sex and have a high manifestation of femine qualities. In contrast, young men acquiring femine features lose the part of their masculine qualities.

In this article the author analyses the problem of psychological concept of psychogenic-induced bronchial asthma. With the help of multivariate statistic analysis the discriminative traits (scales of MMPI, Cattell 16PF) of the given bronchial asthma are showed. A hypochondriac anxiety-depressive radical is found to be patients’ specific personal feature. Anxiety as a main feature is transformed through protective mechanisms into a definite somatic state. The idea of bodily pathological phenomena of breath as sign-symbolic function is discussed in the frame of Thostov’s conception.

The article examines teaching methods aimed at developing students’ intercultural communicative competence whilst studying interpretation using collaborative activity pedagogy developed by G. N. Prozumentova. A special attention is paid to description of three collaborative activity organization models (authoritative, leadership, partnership). Authoritative model corresponds to closed collaborative activity which depends solely on the educator without any go-aheadedness of the learner; leadership model corresponds to “adressed” collaborative activity which implies a certain dialog between the educator and the learner, thus a certain independence of the learner; partnership model is associated with open collaborative activity involving a full-scale dialog between two equal partners - the learner and the educator. The partnership model is presumed as the most effective way of forming students’ intercultural communicative competence since it allows the partners to develop their own meanings, to grow personally and to encourage mutual personal enrichment. The educational experiment designed to develop intercultural communicative competence included different types of translation and interpretation exercices. These learning tasks were classified as either reproductive, constructive or creative which corresponds to three collaborative activity model types. The research has proved that the co-organisation of all three models with an emphasis laid to open (partnership) model has found to be the most effective way of developing students’ intercultural communicative competence as well as their interpretation skills.
