Innovative potential of educational institution is its resources necessary and sufficient for the implementation of innovations that enhance the quality of education. The author developed a questionnaire tool for estimation of innovative potential of the school. It includes an assessment of value-motivational, cognitive and intellectual capacities of the teaching staff, as well as information and communication-organizational and technological conditions in the school. The questionnaire tool has been tested through a survey of 332 teachers from various schools in St. Petersburg. The innovative potential of each school is assigned to one of 4 levels (from low to very high). The questionnaire can be used to assess the readiness of schools for innovation.

The article deals with family image as a key notion of the Russian and Tajik culture on the material of advertising texts. Ontological (health, safety, physical comfort of family members), evaluating (joy, happiness, wishes on the one hand and dissatisfaction because of pernicious habit and absence of psychological comfort on the other hand) and social (full/not full family with children/without children/with adopted children) signs of the family notion are revealed in contrasted languages. The results of associative experiment and questionnaire defined the peculiarities of Russian informants’ family perception, which is rather traditional and based on the values of love and children. The Tajik linguistic culture is connected with parents respect, children care, family’s support and co-operative life with parents. The main members of Tajik family are parents on conditions that they live together with their son’s family. Children have to do as elder family members tell them and do the same they ask. A head of a family is unconditionally a man. According to questionnaire with Russian and Tajik informants it was defined that family image which is used in advertising influence the product’s choice mainly by Tajik customers (75 % as against 20 % of Russian customers). Tajik advertisement is aimed at informing people about such kinds of product as food, furniture, jewelry, service of wedding salon whereas Russian advertising informs the customers about food, medicine, clothes and footwear, beauty salons, washing materials. The most part of Tajik advertising refers to social advertisement. The Russian linguistic culture of family is based on health care, physical and material wellbeing, conditions of life, and family image in Tajik linguistic culture is connected with care for life conditions and attention to wife’s wishes, and with up-to-date social problems in Tajikistan.

The purpose of the paper is to highlight the main features of the category of distribution in time and determine the basis for typological analysis of the selected Ket verbal derivational categories. On the one hand, the main semantic features of the Ket category of distribution in time are considered, on the other hand the attention is paid to the means of the description of these features. The analysis presented in the paper shows that the main feature of the semantic category of the verbal quantity is the split into two derivational patterns. The first pattern ‘iterative’ includes the opposition of multiplex and full-cycle verbs, the second pattern ‘semelfactive’ involves only one semantic class of verbs (sound production verbs), moreover it is based on the oppositions within two cognitive categories plexity and state of boundedness.

The article is devoted to analysis of regulative potential of stylistic figures (anzhabeman, parcelling) in lexical regulative structure of Z. Gippius poetic texts. It was determined that regulative means of anzhabeman and parcelling in the author verses are designated to coupling with title and the other regulative means (tropes and stylistic figures). The analyzed stylistic figures define originality of poetic texts and the main characteristic features of Z. Gippius idiostyle. They are “style firmness”, unemotionality, “categorical tone” of narration. Convergence of stylistic figures as the way of organization of text micro- and macrostructures contributes to making a gnomic style of poetic text and allows varying inflexion outline of work.

The article touches upon the problem of verbal representation of “civilization/barbarism” dichotomy in political discourse. The research aims at exploring conceptual metaphors and metonymies verbalizing the concepts which model the development of civilizations of Great Britain and the USA during the period of the First and the Second world wars. The research is based on P. Buchanan’s “Churchill, Hitler, and the Unnecessary War”. The methods employed include component, definition and conceptual types of analysis, metaphor modelling and critical discourse analysis. Complex analysis consisting of metaphor modelling, conceptual, definition and component types of analysis presents the following results: metaphor models (Civilization as Personality, Civilization as Expansivity, Civilization as Self-control, Barbarism as Degradation) verbalize the concepts of “civilization” and “barbarism” in a certain cultural-historic context. The identification of concomitant metaphors and metonymies (Great Britain as Cow, Great Britain as Great Lady, Great Britain as Debtor, Great Britain as Slattern the USA as Sheriff, Dresden etc.) verifies the data obtained. Moreover, the investigation explores the role of metonymy Great Britain is the USA as motivator for dynamic processes in discourse. The method of critical discourse analysis which considers discourse as a phenomenon constituting social practice establishes connections between discursive practice and historic events.

The paper deals with the results of investigating the character of gender transformations of a personality of Russian young men and women. The methodological approach is close to the notion of gender personality in English literature when under gender personality the combination oh individual characteristics is meant describing a person as femine, masculine, androgine or non-differential (indefinite) type by psychological qualities and preferable patterns of sex-role behavior. Investigation included 310 students, namely: 140 men and 170 young girls aged 17 – 22. It is shown that in conditions of the up-to-date Russian society there exist the processes of learning gender models and behavior patterns by youth to be traditionally peculiar to opposite sex and have a high manifestation of femine qualities. In contrast, young men acquiring femine features lose the part of their masculine qualities.

Objective of this study was researching the apoptosis of lymphocytes and neutrophils in alcoholic patients in dynamic of the therapy with preparation cytophlavin. Level of apoptosis in lymphocytes and neutrophils on receptor and cellular levels statistically significant increase in group of persons with alcohol intoxication, compared with healthy donors. Therapy with cytophlavin resulted in positive dynamic expressing receptors CD5 on lymphocytes of persons with alcohol intoxication. Trend toward normalization of number of neutrophils and lymphocytes with morphological signs of apoptosis has been noticed. During application of cytophlavin in patients with alcoholism decrease of concentration of cortisol in serum of blood was observed.

Patriarch Nikon’s statute-will. The paper is dedicated to the study of patriarch Nikon’s manuscript having been unknown earlier – his last will to the brotherhood of the Resurrection monastery of New-Jerusalem. The work is known in one manuscript copy. The sources are Joseph Volotsky’s last will and two litle-known literary texts of the church literature, which were used in Russian manuscript tradition of the XVII-th century. The analysis of the sources has allowed us to determine the genre of literature as the statute-will of the monastery’s founder; to define the time of literary text’s writing as the first half of 1660s; to show its special place in the cotext of the ancien Russian literature.

The article is devoted to the characteristic of the development of general education and vocational training in Western Siberia at the second half of the 19th – beginning of the 20th century. At this period the change of amount of the educational institutions and the appearance of new types of general educational and professional schools were typical of Siberia. The very important role in this process belonged to public and private charity.

The article examines teaching methods aimed at developing students’ intercultural communicative competence whilst studying interpretation using collaborative activity pedagogy developed by G. N. Prozumentova. A special attention is paid to description of three collaborative activity organization models (authoritative, leadership, partnership). Authoritative model corresponds to closed collaborative activity which depends solely on the educator without any go-aheadedness of the learner; leadership model corresponds to “adressed” collaborative activity which implies a certain dialog between the educator and the learner, thus a certain independence of the learner; partnership model is associated with open collaborative activity involving a full-scale dialog between two equal partners - the learner and the educator. The partnership model is presumed as the most effective way of forming students’ intercultural communicative competence since it allows the partners to develop their own meanings, to grow personally and to encourage mutual personal enrichment. The educational experiment designed to develop intercultural communicative competence included different types of translation and interpretation exercices. These learning tasks were classified as either reproductive, constructive or creative which corresponds to three collaborative activity model types. The research has proved that the co-organisation of all three models with an emphasis laid to open (partnership) model has found to be the most effective way of developing students’ intercultural communicative competence as well as their interpretation skills.

In spite of the fact that the importance and need for teaching technologies in the educational process (at all levels) is clearly recognized, the precise and universal classifications of teaching technologies (regardless of the subject area) are currently nonexistent. There is a vast variety of names and types of teaching technologies, including numerous authors’ technologies, developed by both creative and professional communities and individual teachers. One may observe lack of system, scientific basis and unified approaches to the classifications of pedagogical, educational and teaching technologies. The author justifies the specifics and the necessity to consider the instrumentality principle in the process of classification of foreign languages teaching technologies, and states the main tools of foreign languages teaching technologies. The principle of instrumentality as the primary basis for the classification of teaching technologies requires to take tools (basis) of the subject teaching into account. The classification of foreign languages teaching technologies may include mono-tool (poly-target), poly-tool (mono-target) and tool-target teaching technologies. Each type of teaching technologies is illustrated by the scheme of implementation model. The third type of teaching technologies (tool-target) is the most accurately and exactly formulated and effectively implemented type. The article includes some examples of technologies of teaching foreign languages based on the principle of instrumentality (evidence from the titles of foreign languages teaching technologies found in the articles published in the well-known Russian scientific journal “Foreign languages at school”). In the story Varenka Kovalenko sings the song The Winds Blow several times. In the song a young woman talks of her passion to her lover, or fiancйe who is separated from her and leaves either for different distant place, or even for exile. The author of this song is the Ukrainian poetess of XVII century Marusya Churay. We can see the shade of her fate casting on Varenka. Varenka’s brother Mikhail Kovalenko used to call his colleague Belikov - a Swallower, or Spider after the play of M. Kropivnitsky. The revelation of Ukrainian origins of the Chekhov’s story gives the opportunity to consider implied sense in the Burkin’s monologue its Lyric (Varenka) and Dramatic ( her brother Mikhail) sides.

In article on the basis of the questioning of the heads of educational establishments the problem of definition of requirements to graduates of pedagogical high schools on a specialty «pedagogics and psychology» is considered. It is determined, that requirements to professional competence of graduates have practical-guided character with obligatory knowledge of rule-legal bases of activity of the teacher and necessary theoretical knowledge on pedagogics and psychology. While passing to two-level system of preparation of experts it is necessary to generate a precise structure of requirements within the framework of professional competence graduates.
