Shalnev A.S., Degtev V.V. NET PRESENT VALUE AS AN INDICATOR OF ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY IN FORESTRY. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2015. Issue 5 (158). P. 48-51

The article explains the use of the net present value for the evaluation of the effectiveness of forest management strategies for specific sites. In Russian practice, this indicator is mainly used for the evaluation of investment projects, but in forestry developed countries such as Finland and Canada for several decades now this index is used to evaluate the effectiveness of management of forest areas and planning for logging and reforestation on them. This is due to the fact that in the forestry sector, as well as in investment projects a great role is played by the factor of time, i. e. flows of revenues and expenses can be considerably spaced apart in time. This means that the use of indicators such as net income, profit, profitability, etc. do not allow to obtain complete information and give distorted results, as the time factor is not taken into account. Using an integrated model of economic evaluation in the context of strategies may also lead to an increase in the volume of selective logging, because their benefits can be assessed more clearly.

Yumov I.B., Yumova T. . Technology of flowed learning: advantages, disadvantages and creating ideal conditions for introduction in the educational process. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2024. Issue 5 (235). P. 90-98

Questions regarding the integration of “flipped learning” technology in the academic process, which allow students to acquire and understand new material outside of the classroom and apply it in academic discussions, debates, and projects, draw particular attention from researchers and staff in educational facilities. The application of this technique invokes the student’s creative potential and capability, leading to improved learning outcomes and student activity, however its successful application requires certain approaches and resources. The purpose of the study is to determine the essence of “flipped learning”; to study its existing advantages and disadvantages; to evaluate the effectiveness of the assimilation process of the studied material by students as a result of the introduction of this technology. The resources for this study were the theoretical methods of comparative analysis and general content of scientific and pedagogical literature by domestic and foreign scientists working in similar research areas. The verification of the accuracy and validity of the constructed model, which indicated the effectiveness of the technology used, was carried out by the methods of observation, pedagogical experiment, modeling, regression and correlation analyses. The main characteristics of learning are described: the individualization of the educational process, the rational distribution of free time with productive independent work at one’s own pace, and the unlimited use of electronic educational resources. Despite the identified imperfections and certain potential problems for teachers and students, the technology has many advantages, and discussions by authors of the scientific and pedagogical literature on the topic of study made it possible to carry out our own research to identify the advantages and disadvantages when introduced into the educational process. The effectiveness of the degree of material assimilation when using this technology was tested by us at the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science of Buryat State University and at the Ulan-Bator branch of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. In the course of the study, tests trials were carried out to measure residual knowledge and students were surveyed to assess the quality of the proposed technology. As an experiment to determine the effectiveness of the methodology, the authors prepared and posted presentations on one of the basic topics of mathematical analysis in the digital educational sphere of universities. To achieve maximum efficiency in the use of this method, it is necessary to take into account the individual needs and abilities of each student and to create a suitable environment for independent work, providing necessary technical support. The results of the study demonstrated that ad the results of the application of “flipped learning”, students were motivated to improve the quality of gained knowledge, and were incentivized to learn on their own, and the level of their self-organization increased as well.

Tyapkin M.O. PROTECTION OF FORESTS FROM FIRES IN THE АLTAI PROVINCE IN THE FIRST YEARS AFTER THE FINAL ESTABLISHMENT OF THE SOVIET AUTHORITIES (1919–1921). Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 3 (180). P. 137-143

The aim of the work is to examine the process of formation of new system of fire-prevention actions which began to emerge in the Altai province after final establishment of the Soviet government. The article is prepared on the basis of a wide range of archival materials, materials, many of which are introduced for scientific use for the first time. As a result of the work the author has come to the following conclusions. The fight against forest fires included a range of prevention measures, prevention and liquidation of fire in the forest and punishment for persons guilty of arsons. The new government was interested in the preservation of forests from fires, so forestry specialists and local authorities were tasked to create effective system of struggle against forest fires in short terms. Questions of forest preservation from the fires were regulated by local regulations which were based on provisions of the decree “About the woods” 1918. The forest was nationalized, every citizen had the right to use forest products, but on the condition of personal participation in the protection of forests. The implementation of fire prevention measures was entrusted to the local population. However, this practice has not justified itself, so it was decided to return to the standard scheme, in which the main role in the protection of forests from fires played professional forest guards.

Professionally-oriented foreign language training at a university under modern economic, social and geopolitical terms of society development should provide a high level of graduates’ knowledge, skills and abilities in highly specialized areas that form the basis of training and form their readiness to perform professional communication with foreign colleagues when solving practical, theoretical and research tasks. This training should also promote their further self-development, self-education and professional growth. Thus, learning a foreign language could help to perform two main functions in the young specialist’s professional activity: to be a communication tool (in oral and written form) and to become a means of improving one’s professional level. Taking into account the Federal State Educational Standard, the process of foreign language learning in a technical university is aimed at the formation of communicative competencies – the ability to logically correctly and clearly build oral and written speech, make public speeches, conduct reasoned discussion and at the formation of professional competencies – analyze, summarize and perceive information, write scientific texts in their professional field. Higher school teachers are faced with the task of developing these competencies in conditions of insufficient hours given to humanities and a low level of foreign language knowledge among applicants. In particular, a modular system with a flexible approach to the educational process allows you to create pedagogical conditions for the implementation of goals and objectives at different stages of learning. The work was carried out on the basis of the leading technical university of the country. The pedagogical model was updated: the course content for three stages of training (bachelor’s, master’s, postgraduate) was developed, goals and objectives were defined, methodological support was written, exercise books (paper and digital) for each level of training were published, independent educational and cognitive activities of students were organized. The educational process in universities should create conditions in which the student will see his own growth and achievements, will be able to conduct self-analysis and evaluate the results of his activities. The modular approach provides freedom for both teachers and students in filling individual modules with interesting material, choosing a learning path, space for independent work and creative self-realization.

Savenko A.S. TWO SIDES OF PHYTONIMS’ SEMANTICS IN RUSSIAN, ENGLISH AND CZECH. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2016. Issue 2 (167). P. 118-123

Phytonims of Russian, English and Czech are examined in motivological and comparative aspect in order to define specific character of two sides of their semantics. The object of the research is an inside word form of metaphor character. Motivological level of language research is a favourable ground for analysis of national specific of language because the nature of motivated word itself is mainly connected with language conscience of speakers. Names of plants are directly connected with object and cognitive speakers’ activity and also with social and cultural originality of language community’s life and its ethnographic peculiarities. The idea of different ways of environment’s representation by means of two-sided semantics of lexical units in language consciousness is the thesis of the article. If the Russian language consciousness is anthropocentric, then The English one and the Czech are anthropometrical.

Kozachina A.V. THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MYTHOPOETIC STRATEGY OF LEGITIMATION IN JAPANESE PEDAGOGICAL DISCOURSE. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2020. Issue 6 (212). P. 20-26

Introduction. The current paper is dedicated to studying one of the 4 discursive strategies of legitimation identified by discourse analyst T. van Leeuwen, mythopoesis. The aim of the study is to reveal specific features of realization of legitimation discursive strategies and to interpret the results in the context of nature of education policy in Japan. Material and methods. The focus of our study is Japanese modern educational system and textbooks of the Course of Moral Education for elementary and secondary schools provided by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, MEXT. In order to uncover the legitimation strategies in the Course of Moral Education we used the method of discourse analysis and also the critical discourse analysis. Moreover, the method of content analysis and cultural linguistics method are also used. Results and discussion. All the sub-strategies of mythopoesis that was identified by T. van Leeuwen are found in textbooks. Moral tale demonstrates how protagonist achieves success relying on perseverance and diligence, which are in directly linked to the Japanese value gambari. Another story which refers to the inversion is also addresses to this value. Inversion is achieved by endowing the animals from the forest with the qualities of real social actors. The cautionary tale, in contrast, illustrates how the protagonist’s willfulness and unwillingness to obey social principles lead to his exclusion from the society. The symbolization story is an allusion of Japanese society itself with its laws and traditions. Conclusion. The analysis allows to identify the main areas of Japanese pedagogy, as well as to identify the values that are transmitted to the Japanese younger generation through pedagogical discourse. Although Japanese education is modelled after the Western countries’ system, it is still in close connection with moral standards which were the main construct of Japanese society from old centuries.

This paper examines the image of a drinking man in the artistic picture of the world by Sergey Dovlatov, compared to the national picture of the world. The goal is to discuss the similarities and differences in the attitude towards a drinking person, the key characteristics of a drinking person in the national and artistic picture of the world. We perform this study on the materials of the Russian Associative Dictionary (with the use of phraseology materials) and the texts by Sergey Dovlatov (using the National Corpus of the Russian language). We employ the methods of contextual analysis and of studying the national and artistic picture of the world. In both pictures of the world there is sympathy and an idea of the “fate” of a drinking person. The bearers of the negative assessment prevailing in the national picture of the world, in the texts by Sergey Dovlatov, are individual characters who are not “positive”, non-drinking characters seem to be something amazing, mysterious. We characterize the description of the effect of alcohol on a person and the surrounding world in the works Sergey Dovlatov. We counted the episodes of alcohol consumption and the number of characters involved in them in the works of S. D. Dovlatov to prove the importance of the image of people drinking. Sergey Dovlatov gives drunkards positive qualities (inner freedom, talent, contempt for material values). Alcohol “colors” the world in pink tones and helps the heroes to live.
