| 1301 | The paper deals with the key aspects of electronic literary text semiotics and the specific realization of its categories such as cohesion and coherence. The research materials include several electronic texts (based on different platforms and technologies such as Adobe Flash, Scalar, HTML 5) that demonstrate the use of conceptually valid poly-code elements in their semantic structure. The main methods of the research are general scientific methods such as monitoring and description in conjunction with the method of comparative analysis and complex linguistic and stylistic analysis of literary text. The basis of text formation logical and semantic connections is the repetition of information in the various parts of the text. The cohesion of electronic literary text structural elements is provided by micro and macro thematic correlation of nonverbal components that relate to repeated verbal elements of electronic literary text. Being semantic valid, nonverbal components (audio, video, graphics, animation) can correlate with the differ character and length verbal components (letter; word/ word combination/ phrase; a part of text: the whole text) of electronic literary text. The spatial arrangement of verbal and nonverbal elements of electronic literary text is a means of expressing thematic and conceptual structure of the electronic work. Electronic literary text coherence comes along in the recipient’s consciousness during the cognitive process which helps to build holistic meaning transferring with the help of verbal and nonverbal elements of electronic work. Electronic literary text is semiotic complex object of modern informational and communicational discourse where verbal code is still meaningful but not predominant element. This fact transfers the text materiality into the sphere of cross disciplinary research in the humanities. | 1302 | Introduction. The article presents a concept of the ideographic dictionary of the Russian specialized vocabulary of construction. The relevance of the work is explained by the need for systematization of the construction vocabulary in modern Russian, and the lack of lexicographic sources of ideographic type on construction. The presence in the dictionary of the latest construction nominations that are not fixed in terminology dictionaries and standards determines the novelty of the designed dictionary. The article aims to present the concept of the ideographic dictionary of the specialized vocabulary of construction. Material and methods. The following sources serve as the database for the dictionary: terminological dictionaries, regulatory documents, scientific papers, educational sources, professional internet resources data, commercial catalogues of construction production. The methodology is based on general scientific and linguistic techniques of the descriptive method-aspect, including the technique of definitional analysis, as well as the lexicographic method of language learning. Results and discussion. The dictionary includes not only terms but also non-terminological units functioning in professional discourse, such as pre-terms, terminoids, professionalisms, professional jargon. The presented concept of the ideographic dictionary is structured according to the thematic principle and includes the vocabulary of the subject area “Building Technologies”. The main thematic groups are “Building Materials”, “Processes and Methods of Construction”, “Construction Equipment and Tools”. The dictionary entry contains a heading word, the grammatical characteristic of a specialized nomination, the qualification of a lexeme in the sublanguage of construction, the etymology zone for foreign language units, the definition zone, and the illustrative zone. The work presents examples of dictionary entries representing various types of definitions: generic definitions, generic definitions with elements of encyclopedic information, as well as reference definitions. A distinctive feature of the presented dictionary is the qualification of a specialized unit according to its place in the professional sublanguage (term, pre-term, terminoid, professionalism, professional jargon), as well as the presence in the dictionary of the latest terms of the construction industry. The illustrative area is represented by contexts that reveal the functioning of specialized nominations in modern professional discourse. Conclusion. Thus, the concept of the ideographic dictionary of construction vocabulary represents an educational ideographic dictionary, organized according to the logical-conceptual basis. The dictionary can be useful both for students and teachers of construction educational institutions, specialists in this subject area, and will also find application in the process of teaching linguistic disciplines and in terminographic practice. | 1303 | The article is dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the publication of the first edition of A. M. Volkov’s fairy tale “The Wizard of the Emerald City” (1939). The work uses for the first time the handwritten collection of the children’s writer A.M. Volkov, stored at Tomsk State Pedagogical University. Manuscripts allow one to penetrate into the writer’s workshop, to trace the formation and development of an idea and the course of the creative process. A comparison of the structure of chapters in the 1936 manuscript and the 1939 edition made it possible to identify changes made to the composition (deletion, introduction of new ones, merging chapters). In addition, the article provides fragments of manuscripts from 1936, with which A. Volkov planned to supplement the text, but did not include them in the printed version of 1939. Analysis of the drafts gave an idea of A. Volkov’s work with character names. It was important for the writer to find equivalents to the names in F. Baum’s fairy tale, so that they would be understandable to the Russian-speaking reader and optimally reveal the character’s image. The writer worked on the largest number of name options for Scarecrow. Of particular interest is the manuscript of fragments of A. M. Volkov’s play “Flight to Fairyland” based on “The Wizard of the Emerald City”. The manuscript is introduced into scientific circulation for the first time and commented on. The diary entries of A. Volkov and the unusual image of Goodwin in fragments of the play (a black slave Uncle Joe who escaped from an exploiter) indicate that the writer tried to submit to circumstances, adapt to the requirements of censorship, inscribing a fairy tale plot into the traditions of social literature of the late 19th – first half XX century. However, the incompleteness of the play’s concept can be explained by both external (the onset of the “thaw”) and internal (unwillingness to obey the political situation) reasons. The manuscript of “Flight to Fairytale Land” is published in full in this issue of the magazine. Keywords: memorial collection of children’s writer A. M. In the 1930s. this holiday in its political and ideological aspect was aimed not so much to revive the events of the recent past, as to draw public attention to the pressing state tasks and to stimulate labor and patriotic impulses of the masses in both central regions of the country and in the provinces. | 1326 | Translators’ training in higher school is based on the competence approach. Sociolinguistic competence acquisition is of big importance among translators’ professional and personal requirements and skills in cross-cultural communication. Competence is considered to comprise a set of components and is regarded to be a personal skill in self-realization, self-regulation and self-esteem in the professional field. Thus, translators’ sociolinguistic competence is regarded to comprise five components: axiological, culture-linguistic, linguistic, situational-behavioral, assessment and motivational. The axiological component deals with tolerance to international cultures, traditions and value systems. The culture-linguistic component comprises sociocultural background of nations and cross-cultural communication skills. The linguistic component stands for speech clichés, dialects and fixed expressions vocabulary development. The situational-behavioral component deals with gesture, facial expression and speech peculiarities of interlocutors depending on their social status and communicative situation. The assessment and motivational component consists of self-regulation and self-esteem skills. The questionnaire poll of students showed the ways of sociolinguistic competence development and led to creating a technology of monitored independent students’ work in the translators’ sociolinguistic competence acquisition. The technology is regarded as an educational process containing principles and teaching methods which are necessary to achieve the highest results. The article highlights the three technologies of monitored independent students’ work such as multimedia book club, extracurricular activity, and discussion clubs. | 1327 | Beginning with a brief survey of the latest developments in the field of phonosemantics the article looks into psychological basis of sound iconism by investigating the reactions of Russian speakers to English sound-iconic words. The experiment with the use of the Lexical Decision method is described and the results are tabled. The subjects – 90 Russian learners of English at different proficiency levels – were asked to identify as words or non-words stimuli of three types: a) sound-iconic English words, b) non-iconic (neutral) English words and c) quasi-words. All stimuli were presented visually in random sequences in a compressed time frame. The criteria for selecting the stimuli were thoroughly elaborated. The results of the experiment show a statistically veritable delay in identifying the sound-iconic stimuli as words. It remained constant, regardless of the English language proficiency level of the participants. Presumably, the cognitive complexity of the task increased because of a certain interference between the two ways of information processing: abstract-conceptual and sensory-symbolic. This influenced the speed and accuracy of word recognition. Another factor leading to errors might stem from the fact that the sound forms of the English visual stimuli, as they were reproduced by the subjects in their inner speech, did not coincide with their associations in Russian, which made them «think twice» before answering. | 1328 | The paper is focused on the cognitive peculiarities of the verbless (or nominal) imperative sentences in the modern English-speaking advertising discourse. It is reported in the text that the analyzed imperative constructions are reviewed in the field of conceptual grammar which researches grammatical concepts (or cognitive images) that lie behind the linguistic signs and are reflected in grammatical forms, categories and syntactic structures. The article deals with the syntactic concepts which are represented in the language by the means of the very syntactic structures. The study is aimed at identifying and describing the mental constructs of knowledge that are verbalized in verbless one-member sentences in the English-speaking advertising slogans. They help to summarise the main idea of the advertisement to the fullest extent possible. The use of verbless constructions in the advertising texts is connected with linguistic economy and with a special effect of a nominal structures on a reader. The relevance is determined not only by the growing interest in the study of advertising discourse but by the use of the methodology of the new research paradigms. In conclusion it is noted that the factual material allowed to set up five basic syntactic concepts, verbalized in verbless one-member sentences in advertising discourse, taking into account morphological characteristic of the head element of the sentence. | 1329 | Introduction. The content of school subjects is the most important factor in the intellectual development of students. Accordingly, the question arises about the requirements for a modern textbook in the framework of the psychodidactic approach. The aim of the article is to develop a typology of developing educational texts aimed at enriching various forms of mental experience of students. Material and methods. The study was based on the analysis of the psychological characteristics of the intellectual education of students in the framework of the psychodidactic approach, based on the psychological and pedagogical substantiation of the polyfunctionality of modern educational mathematics materials. Results and discussion. The concept of developing educational text is introduced. The specificity of developing educational texts lies in the fact that they, being a projection of the structure of scientific mathematical knowledge, at the same time, firstly, ensure the formation of the main components of a student’s mental experience (including cognitive, conceptual, metacognitive and intentional experience) and, secondly, create conditions for the manifestation and formation of individual cognitive styles of students. Such an educational text should be built as some multidimensional semantic space (hypertext), its structure, along with its “core” (certain subject information), includes context and subtext. The typology of developing educational texts (the study of school mathematics) developed on the basis of the ontological theory of intelligence is presented. Examples of educational texts of different types in the course of mathematics of the basic school are given. Conclusion. The implementation of a complex of developing educational texts creates conditions for increasing the level of understanding of educational mathematical material and the growth of intellectual resources of students by enriching the main components of their mental (mental) experience – cognitive, conceptual, metacognitive, intentional (emotional-evaluative). | 1336 | Introduction. The article deals with the theme of childhood in the lyrics of Georgy Ivanov, according to the testimony of many, the best poet of Russian émigré, belonging to the generation of the first wave of emigration. Aim and objectives. The purpose of the study is to trace the theme of childhood on the material of the whole corpus of G. Ivanov’s lyrics, taking into account the influence of the poet’s acmeistic attitudes, as well as the formation of an existential worldview in his late work, and to trace the evolution of the poet’s children’s theme from the idyllic image of children in the context of the pastoral complex, typical for his early poetry, to the existential inherent in his mature work. Materials and research methods. The research methodology is based on the interpretation of literary texts based on theoretical and literary concepts (acmeism, literary tradition, poetry of the diaspora and metropolis, etc.). A comparative historical method was also applied to the analysis of texts that are typologically close, but have a temporal distance. Results and discussion. We examined the evolution of the children’s theme in the poet in connection with the acmeistic views of the author, identified the metamorphosis of the theme in connection with the appearance in the lyrics of nostalgic and existential themes related to emigration. Conclusion. The lyrical embodiment of the childhood theme of the early G. Ivanov is connected with his acmeistic attitudes, the images of children have the appearance of a “cultural cliché” (cupids, angels, peasant girls) and are written in the common pastoral modus. Childhood, in accordance with N. Gumilev’s geosophical attitudes, whose circle included the poet, is perceived by G. Ivanov as the beginning of a cultural journey, therefore the juvenile subject is accompanied by a large number of literary and culturological allusions. In the emigrant lyrics, the theme of childhood turns out to be inextricably linked with the mortal theme, which corresponds to the general mood of the latest collections of the poet. The image of childhood is distorted, sometimes beyond recognition, in the general mood of hopelessness, nostalgia and émigré longing. | 1342 | Introduction. The purpose of the article is the analysis of verbalization of maidenhood concepts in traditional culture. The materials of the study are dialect dictionaries, as well as the materials of dialectological expeditions conducted by Tomsk State University linguists from 1947 to nowadays in the dialects distribution territory of the Middle Ob Region. The use of this material allows us to explore the concept of maidenhood, taking into account the changes taking place in the dialect culture and caused by both linguistic and extralinguistic factors. Results. Concepts of maidenhood are objectified in the lexical and phraseological dialect units, nominating maidens and characterizing their behavior. In peasant culture, marriage was considered as the fulfillment of the main female life purpose. Therefore, society demonstrated the importance attached to the preservation of maiden honor. It was reflected in a number of stable combinations that denominate a virgin. Noncompliance with this form was a great disgrace for a girl and her parents. The loss of virginity and the birth of a child before marriage are characterized by units containing seme `shame‘. Zoomorphic metaphors are also used in dialect speech, indicating the comparison of extramarital relations with the animal world, in which the rules of human society do not operate. Marriage for a girl in traditional culture is perceived as a necessity, this fact is evidenced by the analysis of ritual lyrics. In dialectal folklore ditties are recorded with the intention of warning or recommendations not to marry. The use of a large number of verbs, the grammatical form of which reflects the lack of participation of the girl in the decision to marry is also characteristic. The analysis of the units nominating wedding ceremonies confirms the idea that marriage was economically beneficial and did not depend on emotional attachment. The wedding is treated as a ritual transition, initiating a girl to the status of a woman. At the same time, the transformation of the concept of maidenhood is shown due to social, historical and economic factors. Dialect speakers note a change of social norms. They condemn the behavior of modern girls, in relationships with the opposite sex before marriage, and the lack of a sense of shame for that matter. Dialect speakers also mention the disappearance or simplification of the wedding rite and the absence of legal relations between the spouses. | 1343 | Introduction. The given analysis is about 475 modern phraseological units that contribute to the formation of the phraseological picture of the world. The study examines the relationship of semantics and the form of phraseological units, due to the situation of communication. The phraseology of a language as part of the linguistic picture of the world is included in the framework of the study of cognitive linguistics. Aim. This study is aimed at identifying and describing modern phraseological units, as an example of allegorical expression in the communication process to achieve certain cognitive goals. Material and methods. The presented empirical material in the article is an actual selection from a modern literary text (Under My Skin, The Door That Led To Where, End Game, Liccle Bit, The Art of Being Normal – 2015 publication). Examples were obtained by reading fiction of modern British authors (J. Dawson, S. Gardner, A. Gibbons, A. Wheatle, L. Williamson), by the method of continuous sampling. Results and discussion. The analysis allowed us to consider the cognitive aspect of phraseological units. It is established that a broad approach to the study of phraseology expands the boundaries of phraseological doctrine and allows you to consider more structural and semantic forms of phraseological units. The following modern phraseological units are considered and analyzed in the article: phraseological units, phraseological units derivatives and author formations. The semantic features of derivatives of phraseological units and copyright formations are analyzed in the framework of modern phraseology of the English language. It is shown that the structural complexity of phraseology is based on the cognitive aspect of its semantic structure. Conclusion. The analysis made it possible to identify the structural range of phraseological units and consider their transformative processes according to semantics and situational use. The study shows that the modification of phraseological structures and the introduction of new idiomatic phrases (derivatives of phraseological units and author’s idiomatic expressions) are due to linguistic and cultural needs in the expression of society. All analyzed modern phraseological units of the English language are considered as operational units of thinking of the present time and are a means of reflecting the linguistic picture as a whole. The linguistic picture of the world is a reflection of the external and internal world of a person, his thinking and speech. The modern phraseology of the English language reflects changes in human comprehension, understanding and interpretation of the outside world. The phraseological unit has a complex structure and belongs to a special linguistic category, which leads to an increase in the interest of cognitive research. Thus, the study of phraseology at this stage should be focused on the phraseological unit, its meaning and its usage. | 1346 | In clause theoretical development of problems of the social state in works of the German doctor of the right, the sociologist and economist Lorentz von Stein (1815-1890)which is the pioneer and classic of the European model “state of social assistance” is discussed. The scientific heritage, especially development of the social doctrine of a society , exactly the basic conclusion about its evolution in a social direction, take the important place in the European and international political ideas, exceeding the bounds of a concrete research object, and space and time of his epoch. The urgency of a theme is caused by a modern active discussion of prospects of paradigms change of the European model of the social state from « the state of the social assistance» to « the state of investments», but appeals of refusing the archaic social policy, which leads to “excessive social expenses” do not find unanimous support. Moreover, it is very important for the post Soviet countries to study origins of “social states”, because the scientific development of a problem only is in the process of beginning. | 1997 | |||||

| 1348 | Potanin’s opinion concerning the necessity of reforming people’s education in Russia at the end of the XIXth – beginning of the XXth centuries is of great interest and actuality. The problems of education are on the first place in the past and present time. G.N. Potanin considered that the main idea of reforming Russian schools in the end of the XIXth-beginning of the XXth centuries should be patriotic education of Russian students. As a solution Potanin proposed to introduce the subject “rodinovedenie” (leaning about the country – Russia) in the school schedule. The main result of this reform should be the political stability in Russia. The October revolution and the Civil War in Russia in the beginning of the 20th century showed the truthfulness of G.N. Potanin’s views in this question. | 1997 | |||||
