| 1451 | The results of investigations of the surface modification and alloying of metallic materials with the low-energy (up to 40 keV), high-current (up to 40 J/cm2) electron beams (LEHCEB’s) of microsecond duration are presented. The results of simulation of non-stationary temperature fields induced in the LEHCEB’s affected zone are given. The particularities of the structure – phase transformations into the surface layers of irradiated materials are considered. It is shown that the irradiation in the surface melting and initial evaporation modes allows to decrease noticeably the surface roughness and to clean it of harmful impurities. In the near-surface layers quenched from the melt the metastable structure – phase states are formed. These states in the aggregate with the surface smoothing and cleaning provide the enhancement of some surface-sensitive properties, such as, electric strength of vacuum gaps with electrodes made of austenitic stainless steel, fatigue properties of titanium alloys, wear resistance of high-speed steel and hard metals. It is shown that pulsed melting of the film-substrate systems allows to realize the efficient surface alloying | 2083 | |||||

| 1467 | Introduction. Relevance of the research is determined by the interest of modern linguistics and translation science in search of effective ways of preserving author’s individual style in translation. Aim and objectives. The present paper attempts to discuss A. Bromfield’s ways and decisions to render the principal features of V. O. Pelevin’s individual style in “Generation P” postmodernist novel. Materials and methods. The research is based on two text sources: the Russian original text of “Generation “P”” by V. Pelevin and its English version “Homo Zapiens” (transl. A. Bromfield). The methods applied are general scientific (observation and description) and linguistic (text analysis, comparative analysis). Results and discussion. Rendering of author’s idiostyle features is one of the basic tasks of literary translation. Novel “Generation “P”” by V. Pelevin’s, marked by intertextuality and syncretism of style and narration characteristic of Russian postmodernist paradigm, strikes the reader with own specific eclecticism, word play, multi-layered picture of reality, plentiful quotations and allusiveness. The challenging attempt of Russian-English literary translation by British interpreter A. Bromfield, trying to restore V. Pelevin’s idiostyle principal features manifested in plexus of expressive means and stylistic devices, is discussed in the article. Conclusion. In authors’ view, some minor flaws in rendering of V. Pelevin’s idiostyle may be caused by incompleteness of comprehension of “Generation “P”” text, loaded by multifaceted linguistic affluence of style. The most sensitive omission for the author’s idiostyle is probably zero translation of English insertions as principal features of Pelevin’s bilingual narration, as well as the decision to neutralize some colloquialism. | 1476 | The author deals with the cognitive basis of the creative processes which underlie the text formation. The subject matter of the study is the creativity of the literary text. While defining the cognitive parameters which contribute to the formation of the creative nature of the literary text, the author grounds the hypothesis about the creative text as the artful deviation from the automatized conventionality on the structural, communicative, conceptual, and semiotic levels of the literary text. The results of the study demonstrate the multilayered organization of the creative text which is formed by the cognitive processes. Among the processes are the associative connections of the chunks of knowledge, their analogical mapping, ambiguity of meaning, conceptual integration and foregrounding. These processes are viewed as the key processes in the cognitive model of the literary text which form structural, semantic and symbolic transformations that refer to the existing literary archetypes. The text is considered to be creative if the author purposefully foregrounds the semiotic level of the text and transforms it. The semiotic transformation entails the transformation of the elements of the other levels of the text. The usage of the highly frequent lexemes and structural repetitions contribute to the formation of the novel processes of the aesthetics of suspense. | 1477 | Introduction. Quantitative and qualitative changes in the modern English vocabulary and regular production of extensive neogenic lexical segments in its content demonstrate the viability of this language and are vivid evidences of its dynamic evolution in the modern society confirming its leading position in the development trend indicators in the synchronous perspective. Coinciding with innovations in special areas of knowledge, modern English acts automatically as a vocabulary producer for new forming onomasiologic structures to which the lexical-semantic field “Smart Energy Systems” belongs. Material and methods. Author’s corpus consisting of 1 144 lexical units served as a material resource for this research. The corpus was selected from authentic scientific and technical publications over the period from 2015 to 2019. The neologism status in the specified corpus segment was determined through lemmatic articles taken from representative lexicographical references books like “Dictionary of Mechanical Engineering”, “Dictionary of Technical Terms”, “Electropedia”, “Encyclopedia Britannica”, “Encyclopedia of Energy Engineering and Technology”, “Engineering Dictionary”, “Power Engineering Dictionary”, “Cambridge Dictionary”, “Collins Online Dictionary”, “Urban Dictionary”, etc. Structural and systemic approach constitutes the rational and empirical platform of this study enabling to interpret structural relations of lexical aggregates as a system (subsystem) of elements and the language as a structural and systemic formation. To determine the neologization extent of the lexical-semantic field “Smart Energy Systems” some traditional methods of logic (analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization, contrasting, etc.) and statistics (quantitative, grouping method) as well as linguistic methods (descriptive and structural for component and constituent analysis) were used. Results and discussion. The formation of terminological neologisms is continuous while their lexicographical documentation is characterized by an impressive delay. Based on the quantitative and comparative analysis, the neogenic growth rate in thematic groups was determined and the localization of terminological neologisms in the lexical-semantic field was specified. The knowledge of neological distribution makes it possible to predict the trends of terminology formation in the field of smart energy systems in the modern English. Two and three component wordformative models are predominant in thematic groups which reflect their nominative function and display their tendency to specification. The vocabulary enhancement of the lexical-semantic field “Smart Energy Systems” follows two ways: the extension and abridgement of words and collocations lexical length reflecting current trends in the lexical enrichment in the modern English. Conclusion. Upon the analysis of the lexical-semantic structure of the lexical-semantic field “Smart Energy Systems” the following conclusion is made: the peripheral zone, formed around the core, contains the language material imported from allied onomasiologic fields and, therefore, distinguishes by the fastest pace of neologization. | 1492 | Modern Tomsk author Tatyana Efremovna Meyko writes in the genre of philosophical stories, continuing the tradition of Hans Christian Andersen, Konstantin Ushinsky, Arkadiy Gaidar, Valentin Kataev. The fairytale “Zernyshko” is considered as a phenomenon of “common” literature that is aimed on the one hand at an adult and on the other hand at a child. On the level of plot the tale is clear to children. Rich intertextual formation (allusions to mythology, the Bible, folklore and literature) is designed for the understanding of the problem of choice of life for more prepared readers. The ways of creating images of characters (names, characteristics of speech, their relationship with the world, transmitted via spatial characteristics) are analyzed in this article. In the spatial organization of tales the opposition “top – bottom” is important and the way is the topos. The hero of the tale is able to overcome obstacles, to look for answers to questions, to move forward. Using references to the Bible, world literature, Т. Meyko connects the image of the grain with the semantics of eternal renewal, the triumph of life over death. Т. Meyko uses the techniques of attracting attention of the listener (issues treatment), typical tales formula. | 1493 | The article studies the peculiarities of the concept “solitude” on the basis of K. D. Balmont’s poetic discourse which is represented by the books of poems “Burning Buildings” (1900), “Only Love” (1903). The concept under review occupies one of the highest places in the poet’s poetic worldview. The analysis of the concept is based on the position of V. I. Karasik, who distinguishes the figurative, conceptual and value components in the structure of the concept. It is established that the concept “solitude” is mainly explicitly represented by the lexeme “one” in a poetic discourse of K. D. Balmont. Such lexical regulative units as lexical regulative chains and lexical regulative structures based on syntactic parallelism as a particular case of repetition play a very important part in the formation of the concept. It allows us to consider these types of lexical regulative units as concept-forming. It is found out that K. D. Balmont’s lyric character scarcely experiences negative emotions about his spiritual solitude (solitude-privacy). Moreover, he consciously aspires to it. It is approved that the concept “solitude” is implicitly associated with such concepts as “desert”, “soul”, “God” and “freedom”. The connection between the concept “solitude” and the concepts “God” and “desert” is traditional whereas the connection between the concept “solitude” and the concepts “freedom” and “soul” has a completely individual authorial character. | 1494 | The article presents the analysis of peculiarities of creation of family and family life of the Russian law intellectual elite of the period of modernization in the second half of XIX – early XX centuries. The importance of this aspect is due to the significance of the family, especially wife, in creating the conditions for successful scientific and journalistic activities. Some aspects of the problem are reflected in the works of N. L. Pushkareva, L. P. Repina, T. A. Saburova. This issue is at the intersection of problematic fields of history of intellectual culture, and the history of everyday life. First, the languages of the indigenous peoples of Siberia belong to the category of endangered languages lacking an ancient written tradition, thus enhancing the value of the folklore of these peoples as a primary resource allowing us to obtain important linguistic data, as well as to draw significant conclusions regarding the specific features of the genesis of the linguistic and cultural processes of the respective ethnic groups. Secondly, there has emerged a recent particular increase in the interest of researchers in the study of lexical systems of aboriginal languages of Siberia in connection with typological problems. However, up to the present time, no attempts have been made to separately study the system of color markings of the Selkup language. On the material of prosaic folklore texts, as well as lexicographical works on the Taz dialect, an attempt was made to describe the semantic zone “white”. With the aim of studying folklore and lexicographic materials from the point of view of the semantic features of color markings in the context of modern priorities of linguistic research, a set of lexemes with the value of “white” in a corresponding dialect is defined as a result of the work. Their semantic structure is described. A strategy for their representation in lexicographic material is proposed. In addition, symbolic patterns in “white” are observed in Selkup beliefs and shamanic practices. Keywords: color terms, the Selkup language, lexicon, semantics, Taz dialect | 2078 | |||||
