| 1551 | The article presents the analysis of peculiarities of creation of family and family life of the Russian law intellectual elite of the period of modernization in the second half of XIX – early XX centuries. The importance of this aspect is due to the significance of the family, especially wife, in creating the conditions for successful scientific and journalistic activities. Some aspects of the problem are reflected in the works of N. L. Pushkareva, L. P. Repina, T. A. Saburova. This issue is at the intersection of problematic fields of history of intellectual culture, and the history of everyday life. A full study of the results of intellectual activity is possible only taking into account the understanding of the working conditions of their creators, their surrounding environment and relationships with family. To understand these features we have applied the methods of biographical and generational analysis, and gender analysis from the standpoint of the historical andrology. Conclusions based on the study with the denoted positions of the diaries and memoirs of the lawyers. Professionally successful lawyers suffered the most comfortable transition to a small family, perceived equitable conjugal role and the active role of the father in the upbringing of children. Marriage was seen as a deliberate step, voluntary, based on love union. The financial position of the bride had a secondary role, importance is given to personal qualities and level of intelligence. They emphasized the undoubted value to family life. Extramarital relations (if mentioned) were described very veiled. Representations of law intellectual elite about family and marriage, as well as practical implementation has coincided with the trends in this direction among the Russian educated society in the second half of XIX – early XX centuries. | 1552 | Verbs of movement in the Selkup dialects denote different ways of movement, its nature, general orientation of the movement against the speaker, environment in which this movement occurs, and a number of additional components. Most Selkup verbs of movement are monosemantic, about 60% of meanings does not repeat, i. e. they are peculiar to one verb of movement. In the analyzed group of verbs of movement the synonymic relations are poorly developed in comparison with Russian in spite of the fact that among the Selkup verbs of movement the synonymy is more developed than in other lexico-semantic groups of the studied language. Selkup verbs of movement are divided into two groups: verbs of undirected movement and verbs of directed movement. Lexico-semantic group of verbs of undirected movement has the core which is formed by the most frequent polysemantic verbs kwangu, čāǯįgu and qənqo, and also periphery which is formed by the verbs of undirected movement including such lexico-semantic components as ‘environment in which the movement occurs’, ‘way of the movement’, ‘speed of the movement’, «figurative characteristic of the movement» in their meanings. The orientation sign of verbs of directed movement receives a specification. It is lexically expressed in specification of the direction by serial postpositions; grammatically it is specified by the formants coinciding with suffixes of the inflectional system. The group of verbs of directed movement includes verbs of absolute direction and verbs of relative direction. Verbs of absolute direction include verbs of vector movement in vertical direction and verbs of vector movement in horizontal direction. The Selkup verbs of movement are characterized by denoting the general movement direction (approach or removal) and orientation in space. | 1553 | The active cooperation of countries in various spheres of life leads to a constant demand for the translation of normative documents, including international treaties regulating the procedure for interaction of the countries. An international agreement is a legal document and refers to the official business style, the features of which are accuracy, clarity, and lack of ambiguity. A characteristic feature of the style in English is the large number of modal verbs having several meanings that sometimes cannot be expressed by modal verbs in Russian. The translator faces the difficult task of choosing translation units suitable for adequate translation of the meaning of the modal verb. The aim of the study is to determine the ways of translating modal verbs from English into Russian in legal texts through identifying the factors by which the translator can determine the meaning of a modal verb in a specific context and correlating them with the adequate variants of translation into Russian. The research is based on an international treaty between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Indonesia in the law enforcement sphere using such methods of linguistic analysis as descriptive, comparative, and quantitative. The most frequent modal verb in English treaties is shall; may is in second place; other modal verbs are found, but extremely rare. Modal verbs are translated into Russian by: a verb in the present tense; a verb “может”; a contracted form of an adjective “должен”; an adverb “необходимо”. When translating modal verbs into Russian, it is necessary to take into account many factors: the requirements of the functional style of speech; shades of the meanings of modal verbs and their function in the sentence; the context specifying the meaning of the modal verb; the norms of the translation language. In the system of pedagogical dominants of Dostoyevsky, the following are distinguished: family, public education (environment, school, teacher’s image) and spirituality. | 1574 | The article is devoted to the study of the anthropomorphic components that could be found as compound elements of the proper names in some languages of Ob-Yenissey area. In folklore, proper names are closely connected with culture and traditional life; they can reveal the pre-scientific understanding of human society, philosophy and religion. A distinctive feature of the folklore of the indigenous peoples of Siberia is that such characteristics of humanity as anthropomorphism and gender are possessed not only by people, but also by animals, gods, spirits, which is primarily reflected in proper names. The study of Khanti folklore helped to reveal some repeated lexemes or parts of lexemes that could be called anthropomorphic markers. E.g. iki – is used to denote masculine, imi – is used to denote feminine. Such anthropomorphic components with the similar meaning are presented in the Selkup language: ira – means old man, kota – means old woman. In the Ket folklore one can find such lexems as: ket/get – human, deng – people, bat – old man, hun’ – daughter, hyp – son, am – mother, bam – woman and some others. The same lexemes were also found in some other Siberian languages, e.g. in Nganasan: Tәmuŋku – bәjkaa (mouse-oldman). The study of anthropomorphic components in the folklore makes it possible to show, that the anthropomorphism was common for native Siberian people. It was expressed in the transfer of physical properties and psychological qualities of a person, on the inanimate objects, as well as on living beings and supernatural creatures. | 1578 | The issue of training cadets of military higher educational institutions for the Olympiad in Informatics is under consideration. The nominations of the Olympiad are described and the methodical aspects of training cadets for one of the topics of the first round are described in detail – the use of the MS Word application in solving military-applied problems. Based on the analysis of the Olympiad assignments on computer science of the past years, a classification of tasks has been performed on this topic. The following types of tasks are identified: working with text; work with objects that are not text; execution of the document; automation of mailing; creation of macros and electronic forms. The method of teaching the solution of the selected types of Olympiad problems is described with the help of a set of different levels of difficulty in the exercises. Each subsequent exercise should either be based on the previous one, or repeat the sequence of actions formed in the previous tasks, which allows you to consolidate the result of the previous work. At the same time, in each subsequent exercise, a new action (or several actions united by one group of teams) must necessarily be added, which accentuates the attention of the cadet, thereby contributing to a more meaningful assimilation. Expansion and gradual complication of the set of exercises or the creation of a new sequence of similar tasks allows you to gradually master all the necessary material. A generalization of methodological provisions is made on the basis of which the method of preparing cadets for the speech at the Olympiad in the first round is proposed: it is necessary first to classify tasks for each topic of the tour, then to develop a set of exercises that form the cadet’s free operation with the actions necessary to solve problems of each type. Allegory has been used widely throughout history in all forms of art, largely because it can readily illustrate complex ideas and concepts in ways that are comprehensible or striking to its viewers, readers, or listeners. Writers or speakers typically use allegories as literary devices or as rhetorical devices that convey hidden meanings through symbolic figures, actions, imagery and events, which together create the moral, spiritual, or political meaning the author wishes to convey. For example, in fables a fox character embodies the human characteristics of cunning and cleverness, a wolf and a bear symbolize greed and fraud, etc. Allegory can be easily represented in proverbs and sayings. The peculiarity of allegorical meaning is expressed in typical images. These images are related to various realia of the surrounding environment that belong to everyday life, work, religion, folklore of a culture. The concept “relation” is one of the major national cultural concepts in the Kalmyk, Russian and English lingvocultures and consists of various evaluative, figurative and conceptual components. It is concluded that such values as, for example, predestination and inevitability, out of control and volatility, success, high degree of happiness, pleasure, and satisfaction are characteristic of both languages, while the definitions of „a part of life”, „get out of trouble”, „be saved from trouble (calamity)”, „pray for happiness”, and „perfect expectations” are peculiar only to the Chinese language, and the „fate”, „prosperity” „earthly bliss”, „share” and „good fortune” – exclusively to the Russian language. The results of investigating Russian and American socio-cultures show that in Russian socio-culture explicit performatives are the most polite if there are offi cial relationships between interlocutors; interrogatives and assertives are the most polite if there are unoffi cial relationships between interlocutors. It is proved, that the peculiarities of the author’s emotional status reflection in the text depend on his gender affiliation and have their specific markers. The reasons of gender affiliation reflection of the subject in his speech are explained. | 1596 | The article deals with the method of moral dilemmas used for development of communicative competence in foreign language teaching at higher school. The author pays special attention to the need of stimulation of any speech activity of students with the aim of clarifying of the unexpectedly appeared misunderstanding. The author underlines that showing oneself in the discussion, regardless of the language knowledge and skills and having no fear of making a mistake, is an invaluable experience for speaking. The author presents the examples of moral dilemmas used in teaching English at higher school and the stages of the work with them and gives specific recommendation on it. While describing the work with dilemmas, the author points out the importance of correct determination of size and gender composition of the groups and the possibility of discussing moral dilemmas by the students having different level of the language. The author comes to the conclusion that the discussion of moral dilemmas in the classroom while teaching foreign languages at higher education institution not only contributes to the understanding of moral values and qualities, but also develops language skills, fluency of speech, speech accuracy; it improves pronunciation and interaction with a partner.
