| 3557 | The article presents a short review of underexplored part of Ehrenburg’s artistic heritage – literary cycle “Conventional Sufferings of Cafй’s Habitue” – in connection with the phenomenon of the convention stated in the title of the cycle. The place of the reviewed cycle is accounted in the works of Ilya Ehrenburg in 20s of the XX century. The paper analyses ideological and thematic content of the text, its aesthetic and genre nature. The article deduces relation between convention as a literary device in the cycle and other arts that was Ehrenburg’s subject of attention. Convention as a literary device is compared with a line of cinematographic acceptances, what gives a whole cycle combination of essay and novella types of writing. Chosen locuses allow the usage of a round-up technique, which gives a panoramic view of reality to the cycle. | 3558 | The article deals with the peculiarities of some specific structures which are characterized by the abnormality of lexical and grammatical agreement. The given structures referred to as ‘semimarked ones’ are widely used in the English language and, among other things, for expressing space measurements. | 3559 | In the article the issues of penitentiary staff training during the first years of the Soviet government are revealed. These issues are of concern for research as one of the underworked topics in native science. The author focuses on the events connected with it, on historical and pedagogical experience, trials and errors of pioneers of Soviet penitentiary staff training system. Chronological boundaries of the article are determined by the major events of Russian history, which were highly influential on the process of professional penitentiary staff training. The lowest boundary begins in October 1917 with inauguration of Bolshevik regime. The highest is connected with the Second Congress of penitentiary affairs officials of the RSFSR held from November to December 1924, after the agreements of which systematic solutions of the issues of Soviet penitentiary staff training became possible since the second half of 1920s. The first agreements of the government during the first years of Bolshevik regime concerning penitentiary personnel policy and shifting penitentiary priorities are revealed. The central place in the article is devoted to the revealing of external and domestic factors undermining the professional penitentiary staff training and having a negative impact on the possibilities of penitentiary personnel policy in that period. The conclusion about the role of the first educational endeavors’ of Soviet government in foundation of the Soviet system of penitentiary staff training is stated. | 3560 | The article contains the analysis of the images of toys in the works of Siberian writers of the beginning of the XXI: the story-tale “Princess Agashka in the Land of Unknown Animals” by S. K. Danilov, “Pegasus” by V. V. Shkalikov, “The Year of the Princess Bukashka” by Yu. S. Burkin. A toy, which has the oldest origin and combined ritual sacral, playful, psychological functions, is one of the classic images of children’s literature. All these properties are reflected in different ways in the works of the Siberian authors. In the story-tale by S. K. Danilov the old toys serve as assistants, guides, custodians of knowledge, as a mirror image of the inner world of Agashka, and also personify the state of abandonment and desolation, thereby contributing to the formation of important personal qualities of the main character. Old dolls, personifying true values (kindness, friendship, charity) are contrasted with Cindy dolls, symbolizing the values of the era of consumption. Overcoming the temptations associated with the problem of choosing life ideals, Agashka leaves the Playground of the Land of Unknown Beasts and goes to the real world with a personality. In the “Pegasus” by V. V. Shkalikov in the image of a wooden saltcellar are found the oldest solar images-symbols (winged horse, bird), which have important cultural and historical significance. The act of creating a toy made of natural material leads to the awakening and, in a literal sense, the revitalization of inanimate material, becomes the impetus for inducing heroes to search for the meaning of existence. In the cycle of stories by Yu. S. Burkin “The Year of the Princess Bukashka” the toys perform an important function of the amulet. In addition, references to classical children’s literature-works by L. Carroll, S. K. Lewis, A. N. Tolstoy, Sasha Tcherny, A. Barto, etc. are found in the works of Siberian authors. Keywords: S. K. | 3561 | The article deals with an analysis of the essence and contents of students’ value-focused orientations. Value orientations in their turn determine the motivation, i.e., the external and internal incentives of human activity and reasons for concrete actions. The main values of life, which have been formed throughout the existence of mankind, are undergoing significant changes in the modern social society. The moral crisis that emerged as a new anti-social phenomenon in the late 20th century is changing the outlook of the youth, placing material gain on priority positions. The study of the value orientations of students of higher educational institutions (HEIs) in the private and state sector shows that there are no cardinal distinctions between them. In many respects it could be accounted for by the immaturity of the private sector of the educational system, on the one hand, and the inertness of young people’s value orientations, on the other hand. Nevertheless, the study revealed certain dependence of a higher motivation towards creativity in the cases of fee-paying education and a higher consistency between the students’ value orientations in the private HEIs and the market strategy of the Russian reforms. The proportion of students with a creative potential in terms of value orientation in all years of their training is found to be relatively stable and does not exceed 30%. The other students’ creativity orientations are not only developing, but are maintained until senior courses. This is particularly evident in analyzing the responses of students of the Altai State University. The results of the study of professional difficulties of teachers in the use of information and communication technologies and participation in network professional communities are presented. | 3563 | Introduction. The article describes the prerequisites for addressing the Krasnoyarsk anthology, which is the phenomenon of two-address literature (for schoolchildren and adults). Aim and objectives. The purpose of the survey was to examine the key motifs of poetic and prose works included in the “Anthology for children” of Krasnoyarsk Territory (2017). Materials and research methods. The author uses the method of motive and thematic analysis. The author analyzes the key motifs of the poetic and prose works, included in the “Anthology of literature for children” of the Krasnoyarsk Territory (2017). The anthology includes poems and prose of 58 authors. The compilers of the anthology included texts of various genres: prose (for example, M. Koryakin), fairy tales (V. Nesterenko, L. Rychkova), prose miniature (E. Zharikova), lyrical poetry (A. Dudin, N. Iva), excerpts from the poem (M. Tarkovsky, O. Aksenova), poetic alphabet (N. Anishina), puzzles (K. Eremin, M. Radkevich). The texts were written during the second half of the twentieth century and at the beginning of the XXI century. At present, regional studies have a high scientific value. The author turns to the anthology, published in 2017. The study reveals an auto-reference of Siberia in poetry and prose of both the Soviet and the post-Soviet period. Results and discussion. Writers of the mid-twentieth century reproduce in their works an ontological model of the world. In different texts, one can see the mythological model of the world as a repeating cycle. The main motives organizing this model of the world are such as the model of an anthropomorphic, creative taiga and the motive of an ideal, free childhood. Conclusion. The key conflict in the texts of the middle of XX century is the conflict between nature and urban civilization. However, in the texts of the early 21st century, the ontological picture of the world gives way to the game perception of the world. The question of the development of theoretical thinking of the artist has always been at the center of scientific interests, since the effectiveness of the subsequent musical, performing and pedagogical activity of the graduate depends on his decision. The specificity of the theoretical thinking of the musician-performer is considered. On the one hand, it is closely related to the content and logic inherent in music by its author. On the other hand, it deciphers the author‘s intention, in order to intone it in sounds for listeners. Consequently, the theoretical thinking of the performer from the philosophical standpoint is revealed in the dialectic of artistic time and intonation. Further, the content of conceptprocesses is revealed: artistic time, intonation. The creation of artistic time and its intonation are two interrelated and at the same time independent types of artistic activity. From this unity and struggle, the energy of self-movement and self-expression of the performer is born, an artistic interpretation of the author‘s design is created. An algorithm for the theoretical thinking of the performer is considered. This is the process of the afterlife of the formation of the musical form as a whole formation, where the form is derived from the content as a concrete from the universal. Describes the practical experience of the analysis of the play by Claude Debussy „Snow Dances“ from the cycle “Children‘s Corner” in the class “Piano”. | 3572 | Introduction. The image of a child in art is universal because it is associated with the widest range of problems: from socio-psychological to philosophical and cultural. The aesthetic complex of childishness turns out to be highly relevant for expressing the essence of the subject of the modern transition due to the specificity of the image of the child, which is associated not only with the ideas of naturalness and creative fantasy, but also infantilism and primitivism. Aim and objectives. The aim of this work is disclosure of the symbolic content of the motif and image complex of childishness in P. V. Krusanov’s novel “American hole” (2005). The objectives of the work are studying the role of the Child archetype (“Infant-Orphan”, “Divine Infant”) and the myth-folklore motifs associated with this archetype (“children in the forest”, “initiation”). Materials and research methods. The author of the article used the structural-semiotic method, the method of myth-restoration and the method of complex analysis based on the synthesis of literary theoretic, linguistic and philosophical-cultural approaches to the artistic text. Results and discussion. To express the essence of the subject of modern transition epoch, the aesthetic complex of the childishness is very relevant, because the child’s specific image means not only naturalness and imagination, but also infantilism and primitivism. In the novel “The American Hole” by P. Krusanov, the deep symbolism of the child’s image is created by play upon the Jung’s Child archetype (“Infant-Orphan”, “Divine Infant”) and the associated myth and folk motifs (“children in the forest”, “initiation”). Despite the prevailing in the text elements of the carnival, subjecting all its ideology and axiology to inversion, the mythological analysis of the plot allows us to reveal the serious meanings that constitute the author’s “message” to the reader. The plot of the transformation of reality in the game, organized by the extremely free artist Sergey Kuryokhin and the eternal boy Evgraf, cancels the idea of the inevitable elimination of childhood and childish in adult life. Conclusion. The author of the article comes to the following conclusions. Firstly, the game inversion creates in the novel by P. Krusanov axiologically ambivalent images of the modern transitional era. Secondly, the inconsistency of the image of the child becomes a means of identifying a modern person with his infantilism, on the one hand, and the cult of creativity, on the other. | 3573 | The paper deals with the actual, but the least investigated Russian language aspectual meaning – the general fact. This means that full qualification is even more important because it is a guideline of the Russian Aspectual System. The article covers the Russian as a Foreign Language modern training courses, created by foreign and Russian authors, an analysis of the basic principles of data presentation. Their conceptual features are marked. The author aims at the versatile presentation of two general fact use syntagmatic restrictions (non-collocation: a) with adverbs вдруг, внезапно, неожиданно (suddenly, unexpectedly); b) with quantified object) and creating these phenomenae` explanatory model. Despite the traditional opinion of the unexpectedness, dominating in the semantics of these adverbs, author, distinguishing aspectual and non-aspectual action characteristics, considers the feature of unexpectedness aspectually irrelevant and so puts forward the different basis for figuring out the first restriction – Salience / importance of the action for the speaker, which proves the verbal aspect interpretative function. The second restriction is being analysed regarding the wider sphere of phenomenae – the quantifying and qualifying characteristics of the action /state itself. So Partitive appears to be homogeneous for quantification. But the latter are impossible in terms of the general fact use. Thus it results in putting the general fact essence into the limelight, making it possible to shape it for the foreign learners: the speaker is not focused on the action and state, the latter is not emphasized. Hence the general fact meaning could be included in the set of means, revealing the universal language category of definiteness/indefiniteness (of the action/state distribution in time).The gained results open some certain research perspectives: listing the general fact use typical situations given the different verbal grammar forms (future forms and infinitive) are involved, aspectual meanings` orientation in regard to dictum and modus, verifying the aspectual meanings` position in the Russian sentence semantic structure. Meta-language narratives are the most indicative material to study how the dialect speakers perceive their own speech and the speech of others, as well as peculiarities of their linguistic reflection. The study of this phenomenon revealed the set of peculiarities of dialect speakers’ language consciousness. But dynamic aspects of dialect speakers’ language consciousness haven’t been examined until present. The purpose of the article is to reveal the types (degrees) of meta-language reflection and to determine the factors of its heterogeneity in the speech of dialect speakers. Material and methods. The material for analysis includes contexts with meta-language topics; the subject of the research is the character of meta-language topic development in the speech of a dialect speaker, as well as his ability for metalanguage reflection; the main research method is probabilistic object modeling. Results and discussion. Records of dialect speech represent different degrees of awareness of dialect speakers of their speech – from almost complete inability to concentrate their attention on a word itself, in distraction from objects and situations denoted by this word, to the active meta-language reflection. The attention of dialect speakers is usually drawn to the language and speech in those communicative situations, when the communicants belong to different social groups and have visibly different language and/or culture codes. But there are also transitional, intermediate degrees of speech awareness. These are the cases of effortful, gradual transition from the situational reflection to the linguistic one, the cases of switching from meta-language topic to the reflection on the corresponding facts or things, as well as the cases of meta-language reflection in situations, untypical for literary language speakers. Conclusion. Unwritten traditional culture is characterized by the weak speech awareness, by the interfusion of the word itself and situations it represents. These features are consequences of such general distinguishing characteristics of traditional folk life culture bearers as the priority of trivial consciousness in contrast with rational (theoretical) consciousness, which is formed by specially organized cognitive activity. The strengthening of meta-language reflection is associated with the growth of literacy among the dialect speakers. Familiarization with written culture leads to greater speech awareness, to shifting the balance between trivial and rational consciousness. The scale of the degrees of speech awareness in dialect speech is the result and the evidence of changes in dialect communication. The specificity of socio-cultural situations in the dialects supports and promotes the tendency to the expansion of meta-language reflection. It is shown, that formation of structural elements of shoot and productivity of plants Triticum aestivum L. depends on the degree of oxidation of selenium ions and the methods of processing. | 3590 | The paper considers specific features of image and status of English king Edward the Confessor’s wife Edith based on “Vita Ædwardi Regis” that was written in the middle 60-s of the XI c. on the orders of Edward’s widow. Edith’s status as the queen at her husband’s court as reflected in the “Vita…” well fitted in the overall trend of late Anglo-Saxon rulers’ wives strengthening influence on state affairs. However, the key factor in Edith’s “career” and in her image interpretation by the “Vita…” was her kinship with the powerful Godwin’s clan, the English king had to reckon with. By representing herself in the “Vita…” as the ideal wife, queen, sister and daughter of the powerful Godwin family members Edith attempted at strengthening her position at the royal court after the death of king Edward, her husband. The aim of political discourse is to persuade the reader and to rouse him to some action. The headline of the article contains main information about some event and is presented in the subtitle of newspaper article. In the full text of the article the headline is exposed to detail examination by the author. This article describes the use of phraseological units with the word component “time” on the basis of texts from the literary works of the American writer Irwin Shaw (1913–1984). Aim. To trace the usage of phraseological units with the component “time” in the context of literary texts with the help of semantic and contextual analysis. Material and methods. The research material includes several novels of the author of the fifties and eighties of the twentieth century: “Acceptable Losses” (1982), “Bread Upon Waters” (1981), “Beggarman, Thief” (1977), “Voices of a Summer Day” (1965), “Lucy Crown” (1956), “The Troubled Air” (1951). The method of phraseological semantic analysis was used as well as the method of phraseological identification. Results and discussion. The article considers phraseological contexts in detail concerning their semantics. Set expressions are distinguished by the following meaning: repeatability, duration, time interval, time point, time relations, time scale and subjectively estimated time. Within each group there is an additional separation by differential seme and examples of phraseological units with the discussed meaning. Repeatability (constantly, often, sometimes): all the time, for the hundredth time, from time to time. Duration (long): half the time, take one’s time. Time period (waiting or a waste of time): a waste of time, stall for time, bide one’s time. Time point (favorable time): in one’s own time. Temporary relations (simultaneity, sequence, at the time arranged): one thing at a time, at the same time, it’s about time. Timeline (present, past, future): for the time being, at the time, for old times’ sake, in good time. Subjectively estimated (pleasant or unpleasant): have a good time, have a hard time and give smb a rough time. Conclusion. Phraseological contexts are found in normal and occasional forms. The usage of phraseological units in speech exposes additional shades of meaning. The actual material and conclusions of this work can be applied in teaching special aspects of phraseological stylistics and the use of modern English set expressions in speech.
