Bazhenova E.A., Karpova T.B. CREATIVE STYLISTICS: ONTOLOGY AND DIDACTICS // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2022. Issue 2 (220). P. 135-143

Introduction. The contents and linguistic-didactic potential of the new linguistic trend are studied in the article from the viewpoint of functional-stylistics. Aim and objectives – developing the ideas of N. A. Kupina and T. V. Matveeva, the founders of creative stylistics, and extending of its problematic. Material and methods. M. N. Kozhyna, N. A. Kupina, T. V. Matveeva, M. P. Kotyurova and others served as the theoretical material for the article; fragments of texts, which represent the creativity of their authors, served as empirical material. The research uses functional-stylistic and interdisciplinary approaches that analyze speech creativity in its extralinguistic causality. Results and discussion. The article reveals that the rise of creative stylistics as an independent area of speech studies was caused by M. N. Kozhina’s ideas on the differentiation between linguistic and verbal expressions. The links of creative stylistics with a number of disciplines united by anthropocentric paradigm are discussed, that is: resource stylistics, linguistic-pragmatics, discourse theory, etc. The tasks of creative stylistics are specified with the authors taking into account N. A. Kupina’s and T. V. Matveyeva’s conception. In the article the authors present the specificity of creative component in functional varieties of written speech: artistic, media, scientific and official texts. The authors find that creativity relates not only to surface layer but also to the semantic layer of the text, that diversity of manifestation depends on the functional, stylistic and discursive parameters of speech. The authors provide the examples of both productive and non-productive use of creative media in the texts of network literature, media and advertising. The authors point out that creativity in scientific texts is connected with the nature of cognitive activity, that creativity manifests itself through intellectual expressiveness while presenting new knowledge, that the scientist’s individual speech style influences the presentation. In the official sphere, creativity is associated with the emergence of new interactive forms of communication between administration and community and it is found primarily in non-documentary genres. Based on the achievements of creative pedagogics, the objectives and contents of adjacent applied disciplines (didactics, speech culture etc.) are adjusted to the necessity of forming a creative linguistic personality (in demand in the modern society). It is stated that the complex approach to language teaching, including verbal-semantic, cognitive and pragmatic-stylistic components of didactics helps to respond to the challenge. Conclusion. The interpretation of creativity with extralinguistic and discursive factors of communication being taken into account fits in the paradigm of modern speech studies and provides wide opportunities for creative stylistics in the research of the creative component of speech activity in all its diversity.

The article presents one of the marginal genres of engineering discourse, the Missing Manual, in the aspect of its metaphorical organization. The results of the analysis have shown that a set of metaphors can be identified in the Missing Manual, namely: the anthropomorphic metaphors that are connected with the anthropocentric paradigm; time and space metaphors that are identified on the basis of semantic features as the humans and everything that surrounds them cannot exist outside of temporal and spatial coordinates; conceptual metaphors that are considered as theoretical constructs that differ in degree of abstraction. The special attention in the article is devoted to the anthropomorphic metaphors which represent various devices as possessing physical and mental abilities, personal attributes, parts of the body, etc. By the example of the Missing Manual it has been demonstrated that the necessity and importance of metaphors in the given text-type depend on two factors: pragmatic goal and functional stylistic status of the Missing Manual. The authors conclude that metaphors in the discussed genre perform two core functions, i.e. the function of gaining consumers’ affection and the function of exerting control over the formation of consumers’ notion of some devices which can have an impact on their decision-making.

Azhel Y.P. INTERPRETATION OF FEMALE IMAGES OF THE NOVEL ‘HENRIETTA TEMPLE: LOVE STORY’ BY BENJAMIN DISRAELI IN RUSSIAN TRANSLATIONS OF THE XIXTH CENTURY // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2022. Issue 4 (222). P. 121-136

Introduction. The coverage of the women’s issue was one of the predominant themes in the works of famous English writers of the XIXth century and gave the key to understanding the place of a woman in the society and her role in the development of the social progress. In this context, an appeal to the fiction of B. Disraeli (1804–1881) is relevant. The objectification of female images in his novel ‘Henrietta Temple: a Love Story’ (1837) is illustrative in terms of evolution of the woman role and her life attitudes. Aim and objectives. The aim of the research is the study of the translation peculiarities of the novel’s key female characters taking into account the current trends in the literary and social processes of Russia in the 1850s – 1860s. Material and methods. The research material included the original text of ‘Henrietta Temple: a love story’, as well as its anonymous translations published by ‘Library for Reading’ [Biblioteka dlya Chteniya] in 1859 and ‘Translations of individual novels’ [Perevody Otdel’nyh Romanov] in 1867. Historical literary, comparative, typological, and structural methods were used in the research. To identify the peculiarities of the main female images interpretation, an analysis of the original text and its translations was carried out using a methodology including five main image parameters, such as character introduction, verbal portrait, speech characteristics, description of actions and author’s attitude. Results and discussion. First acquaintance of the Russian reader with the fiction by B. Disraeli began with the translation of the novel ‘Henrietta Temple: a Love Story’ 1859. The novel of the English writer was consonant with the general trends in Russian literature of the mid-19th century and was twice anonymously translated. Each of the translations reflected not only the basic principles of literary translation, but also the position taken by the translator in relation to the issue of the role of women and their rights in Russian society. In this aspect, the interpretation of the key female characters of B. Disraeli’s novel is of interest. At the center of the narrative there are female characters involved in a love triangle: Henrietta Temple and Catherine Grandison, as well as the image of the main character mother, Constance Armine. Conclusion. The analysis demonstrates that not all the parameters of the Disraeli’s female images are reflected in Russian translations. The peculiarity of the version published in the ‘Library for Reading’ [Biblioteka dlya Chteniya] in 1859 was that the translator significantly reduced and simplified the original text of the novel due to the journal policy and translation norms, which led to simplification of new woman images, in particular Henrietta. The author of the translation published in 1867 managed to better reproduce five main parameters of the female images and recreate a new ideal of a woman capable of defending her interests and realizing herself.

There is a tendency to the shortening of the verse in the literature for children, as well as in modern poetry in general. Researchers rethink the boundaries of the genre of poetic miniature. Poetic miniature usually consists of two parts, and often contains a paradox. The article researches Alexander Bergelson’s (Novosibirsk) quatrains in comparison with the miniatures of other authors such as Grigory Oster, Renata Mukha, Herman Lukovnikov, Boris Khan. All texts are divided into two groups. In the first group two parts of the poem are opposed to each other. In the second group there is a poetic story in sequence. The texts of Bergelson expressed the dialectics of author's consciousness, desire to cooperate with the reader and the perception of reality as a game.

Li Z. REPRESENTATION OF THE CONCEPT EDUCATION IN NETWORK DISCOURSE OF THE RUSSIAN-SPEAKING DIASPORA OF CHINA // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2020. Issue 5 (211). P. 27-35

Introduction. The concept education is one of the most significant in the conceptual sphere of modern society, as evidenced by the unflagging interest in this mental-linguistic universalism both at the level of the national conceptual sphere and at the level of individual discourses and discursive practices. In the online diaspora discourse, the representation of the concept education acquires vivid features, since the analysis of the Internet communication of the representatives of the Russian diaspora in China reflects a special variant of the Russian linguistic culture oriented to the Chinese culture, which is due to the novelty and relevance of this research. Aim and objectives. The purpose of this article is to describe the specifics of representation of the concept education in network discourse of the Russian-speaking diaspora of China, based on the analysis of its inolinguistic cultural substrate. Material and methods. More than 10,000 texts of Internet communication of members of the Russian-speaking diaspora community in China, containing the name of the analyzed concept and its other lexical representatives, became the material of the study. In addition to the methodological tools of interlinguoculturology and lexical semantics, the analysis uses techniques of quantitative, contextual and discourse analysis. Results and discussion. As the analysis has shown, among the components of the inolinguistic cultural substrate of the concept education, the following lexical units of Chinese characteristic of the Russian-Chinese language environment are of the greatest interest: лаоши 715 (老师138), вайцзяо 138 (外教 40), сюешен/сюэшен 5 (学生 112), сюэюань 2 (学院 64). Conclusions were made about the ambiguity of the definition of the concept сюэюань due to the ambiguity and multivariance of its translation, leading to disputes about the correctness of the classification of higher education institutions in China; about the exceptionally positive connotation of the xenonym вайцзяо, the ambivalent connotation of the lexemes лаоши and сюэюань, as well as predominantly negative – the lexical unit сю- ешен; the identification of oneself by Russian teachers from лаоши and вайцзяо without the need to translate Chinese equivalents into Russian in connection with full acceptance of this professional role and status as respected and honorable in Chinese society and culture. Conclusion. The network discourse of the Russian-speaking diaspora in China is distinguished by a certain set of xenonyms that express the concept education. These lexemes are characterized by a special cultural value and relevance, and their analysis indicates a strong influence of the foreign language environment on the perception of information by representatives of the diaspora community, self-identification in accordance with the social and professional statuses adopted in the Chinese tradition, as well as a more expressive expression of emotions and assessments using the foreign word.

Yermolenkina L.I. CONTEXT MACRO-STRUCTURES AS THE MECHANISM OF FORMING DIALOGICAL MODELS OF COMMUNICATION IN SOCIAL WEB-RADIO DISCOURSE // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2020. Issue 2 (208). P. 55-60

Introduction. The article discusses the principles of organizing a dialogue between users of social networks of entertainment radio. Modern convergent forms of media communication are realized at the intersection of discursive macrostructures. In particular, radio functions in social networks of the Internet as a multifactorial phenomenon, depending on the technological and ideological features of media sources, such as radio and the Internet. The innovative nature of the traditional source of information is manifested in the position of the addressee, which is due to the capabilities of the Internet user. The one-way communication method of analog radio acquires the qualities and capabilities of an interactive interaction model, the listener becomes a user, an active subject of discourse, his agent and content generator. Results and discussion. The analyzed material allows us to draw the following conclusions. The method of dialogue depends on the dominant macrostructures, which are either analog radio or social networkcommunication. The indicated macrostructures realize themselves at the level of values and the ideology of network communication. The macrostructure of the radio is explicated in the speech of the communicants in settings on the personal plan of interaction. The macrostructure implements an intersubject model of interaction. The macrostructure of social network communication manifests itself in the psycho-speech mechanisms of affiliation, namely, in the connection of speakers to the speech in order to actualize in public space, realizing a quasi-subject communication model. The second model does not show explicit markers of dialogue, but can be considered from the point of view of successful communication, given the general discursive perspective and the social-network form of organization of communication.

Balakina A.A. ON THE PROBLEM OF THE FUNCTIONAL-GRAMMATICAL SPECIFICITY OF GERMAN VERBS WITH MODAL SEMANTICS // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2014. Issue 10 (151). P. 7-15

The research describes the role of premodal lexical semantics in grammaticalisation and in forming of the functional-semantic specificity of verbs with modal meaning, their cognitive and historical-cultural determination. German modal verbs are sollen, mьssen, wollen, mцgen, kцnnen, dьrfen. These verbs are preterite-present, which means that their present tense has the form of the strong preterite. Modal verbs are the prototypical linguistic means of modality expression, at the same time there are many other verbs with modal semantics in the periphery of the modal field, which have similar functional-semantic features. The so-called modalized verbs can also express possibility, necessity, desirability, habitual actions and various estimates. In contrast to modal verbs, German modalized verbs are used with particle zu (except the verb lassen). It is very interesting to look at the involvement of verbs with modal semantics in grammaticalisation. There are many studies in the field of grammaticalisation (Lehmann, 1982; Heine, 1984; Bybee, 1994; V. A. Plungian, 1997; Maisak, 2005, and others). These works focussed on many important problems of grammaticalisation, and specifically on the possible lexical sources of grammatical items. In the study we regard grammaticalisation as a semantic process (Heine, 1984). We intend to determine the influence of pre-grammatical semantics on the functional-grammatical forming of the verbs with modal meaning. So on the one hand we define grammaticalisation as the process, in which a lexical word or a word cluster loses some or all of its lexical meaning and starts to fulfil a more grammatical function, on the other hand we try to determine the pre-grammatical specificity of form and content. The historical changes in the premodal semantics of the verbs with modal meaning (lassen, brauchen, haben/seinzu, wissen, pflegen) cause their modern functional-grammatical specificity. These verbs express one type of modality and demonstrate the functional monosemanticity.

Vetrova E.S. SPEECH MEANS OF ATTRACTING ATTENTION WITHOUT NAMING THE ADDRESSEE (ON THE MATERIAL OF THE UKRAINIAN AND LEZGINIAN LANGUAGES) // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2015. Issue 10 (163). P. 55-61

The paper is devoted to the study of verbal formulae of attracting attention, which, without naming the addressee, encourage him to response. In Ukrainian and Lezgin speech communication such function is realized, as a rule, by interjections, particles and imperatives used by the addresser either because of uncertainty or extreme generalization of social indications of the addressee, or due to the lack of necessity (volition) of realizing such a nomination under certain speech conditions. The study resulted in determination of the fact that being the ethnos’ spiritual culture markers of a certain kind, such addresses are marked by ethnographic originality.
