The impact function of the mass media causes the use of expressive means of language; the main of them is a metaphor. At the same time the impact of metaphor seems a rather complex phenomenon, so the study of its functions does not cease to be relevant. A wide range of functions of the metaphor and their hierarchy are considered in the context of the newspaper sport discourse on the example of the sports report genre. The analysis is illustrated by vivid examples from the Russian and German press; it shows that this figure of speech is the most important means of pragmatic impact in the sports discourse and in the written sports report, in particular. Consequently, the pragmatics has a target status in the hierarchy of functions. Expressiveness and evaluativity are considered as the most important functions. Moreover, the metaphor has a decorative, attractiveness, game, hyperbole, compression, conspire, encoding, and mnemonic functions that are rarely traced in the text of their own and rather provide a comprehensive impact on the reader. At the same time, the metaphor can perform almost the opposite tasks: mnemonic and conspiracy functions. Consequently, the functional properties of metaphors are in the relationship of interdependence and mutual reinforcement.

We first analyze the eigenvalue problem for the Kaluza-Klein masses when the metric is time dependent, and consider in detail the case when » is small. The paper treats the problems of development of such teacher’s quality as competence. The situations which help to identify a competent math teacher are described. Only highly efficient teachers took part in the experiment: teachers, who have won Soros stipend; teachers engaged in intellect-consuming models of teaching; teachers with the highest level of qualification; teachers, engaged in research activity and the like. The experiment showed that an open cognitive position is the leading feature of a competent math teacher who works on the basis of psychologically oriented models of education. It is possible to form an open cognitive position of a would- be math teacher within the frames of a discipline «Psychodidactics » on the basis of integrative project tasks.

But it is not sufficient to have just speaking skills on household topics in foreign language for successful communication on professional issues. The key point in the preparation of a professional is the formation of vocabulary system in a certain area in the target language. The article covers the widespread ways of automating the development and use of terminological dictionaries in future engineers foreign language teaching. Creating automated electronic dictionaries and terminology data banks allows you to receive the necessary information about the terms and concepts referred to them with the help of computers, in other words certain specific areas or activities are displayed in a systematic form that helps extracting accurate and adequate information from comprehension of the actual information through the reading of original texts in the professional field. The analysis of literature on the creation of educational terminological dictionaries has identified features which could have pedagogical value in the future engineers foreign language teaching, for example, dictionary creator’s collective activity, the aim and the result (training trilingual glossary of terms), and it can be used as a means of students’ reading skills verification.

Magneto- and meteosensitivity of 31 students have been studied. Significant frequency of magneto- and meteosensitivity (48 %) and their different syndromes - cerebral (40 %), joint (26,6 %), kidney's (13,4 %) and mixed (20 %) has been set. Meteosensitivity was burdenned by large frequency of diseases. Magnetosensitivity in the hypotensive (52 %) and hypertensive (32 %) forms has been detected for 84 % of students. The dependence of meteosensitivity upon the magnetosensitivity hasn't been detected

The article deals with the problem of the students’ preparation to independent physical training classes as the health strengthening condition and the adaptation at the higher educational establishment. The basis of the adaptation is the algorithm including theoretical and methodological preparation of the students. The pedagogical experiment proved the effectiveness of the students’ preparation algorithm to independent physical training classes and their positive influence on the health level and students’ adaptive abilities.

The review addresses the question of long-term partner choice by a woman of childbearing age. Biological component of choice is considered on the one hand, and psychological and social on the other. Through theoretical analysis the criteria for selecting long-term partner are being described. Thus, complexity and ambiguity of the choice of longterm partner in the modern world is designated, where social evolution proceeds faster than biological one and is able to exert considerable infl uence on human behavioural programs.

In spite of the fact that the importance and need for teaching technologies in the educational process (at all levels) is clearly recognized, the precise and universal classifications of teaching technologies (regardless of the subject area) are currently nonexistent. There is a vast variety of names and types of teaching technologies, including numerous authors’ technologies, developed by both creative and professional communities and individual teachers. One may observe lack of system, scientific basis and unified approaches to the classifications of pedagogical, educational and teaching technologies. The author justifies the specifics and the necessity to consider the instrumentality principle in the process of classification of foreign languages teaching technologies, and states the main tools of foreign languages teaching technologies. The principle of instrumentality as the primary basis for the classification of teaching technologies requires to take tools (basis) of the subject teaching into account. The classification of foreign languages teaching technologies may include mono-tool (poly-target), poly-tool (mono-target) and tool-target teaching technologies. Each type of teaching technologies is illustrated by the scheme of implementation model. The third type of teaching technologies (tool-target) is the most accurately and exactly formulated and effectively implemented type. The article includes some examples of technologies of teaching foreign languages based on the principle of instrumentality (evidence from the titles of foreign languages teaching technologies found in the articles published in the well-known Russian scientific journal “Foreign languages at school”).
