5151 | The article deals with the analysis of means of expressing the semantic field of the category of deficiency in the novel “The Minds of Billy Milligan” by Daniel Keyes in English. The category of deficiency includes two main components: physiological and mental. The notional category of deficiency is represented by the structure in the semantic field with the core and peripheral parts. The core of the semantic field of the mental deficiency includes three components: 1) medical terms of mental disorders; 2) lexis meaning underdevelopment of mental abilities; 3) lexical means expressing psychic disorders. The peripheral part of this mental unit has not been represented for special consideration in this work. Means of multiple personality disorder component within mental constituent of the category of deficiency in English have been presented. The interconnections between mental component of the category of deficiency and legal-regulatory, moral-ethic aberrations in English have been observed. 5152 | The article analyzes the organization of educational process in teachers’ seminaries of Eastern Siberia in the early twentieth century. It is shown that the new ideas, approaches, that filled, transformed the educational process, contributed to strengthening of military-patriotic and civic education of pupils, which was especially vividly demonstrated during the First World War. Markedly increased the attention to the work with the pupils on labour, physical and aesthetic education as a result of expanding the range of compulsory and optional subjects, increase in seminarians participating in extracurricular activities. It was determined that in the educational work there were some drawbacks, sometimes manifested in the form of formalism, arrogance, lack of qualified specialists and understaffing of the necessary equipment of appropriate rooms. It was stressed that the expansion and deepening of the content of the educational process bore the signs of the development of the humanistic tendencies, associated with an increase in accounting features of personality. 5154 | The so-called epoch of the Internet, which has replaced the epoch of book, change dramatically the Russian literary language. That is to say, the language of media obtained the leading position amongst other language variations. The language of media is becoming a model language of the society and reflecting the current language practice. The media language represents the city linguistic norms and is focused on modernization (literary linguistic norms, in particular). This article is to set the hypotheses that there are two main form of the national modern literary language, existing in the modern information society. They are: 1) the elite literary language; 2) the mass literary language (and its implementation in the media as an option, which we mean “media language”). In mass-media communication, focused on mass media mind, literary standards are on the periphery of media content. Standard standards are superseded by norms of media communication, which draw their resources from the mass language of the whole society and themselves form this mass language. The present hypothesis is based on three fundamental principles: 1) the change of social status of modern media; 2) the definition of mass media language as common national language; 3) the concept of mediatization, which we develop in correlation to mass media language. This article concludes that traditional language norms are challenged by new technologies and are not relevant to speaking practice of mass media. 5155 | The article presents a historical review of conceptual works on Cognitive Translation Theory worked out by Russian scientists. It differs from western tradition and has its own specific way of development. The first prerequisites for the formation of a cognitive paradigm in Russian translation studies were observed in 1970–1980, and by the beginning of the 2000s. the cognitive theory of translation is formed with its own purpose, objectives, and subjects. The main trends of cognitive translation study in Russia are identified through the critical analysis. Firstly, some Russian scientists still prefer using the text-centric approach to compare a source text with a target text by methods of cognitive linguistics (concept, frame, scenario etc.). Secondly, others use a translation act as a study subject in the field of translation process. Meanwhile, western scientists are more focused on studying a translation event, which is only future-oriented in Russia. Thirdly, available Russian studies demonstrate polarized logic of formalized and arbitrary approaches to the translation process. The first is aimed at developing patterns in translation activity; the second declares the impossibility of bringing the translator’s cognitive structures into the system. Fourthly, there are 3 specific interactions between the subjects of translation activity (translator as a cognition subject, translator vs author, translator vs reader). The results of translation cognitive scholars are of high theoretical significance and are actively used in the development of artificial intelligence, improving automated translation, understanding the phenomenon of linguistic creativity and introducing innovative approaches into methodology of teaching translation. 5164 | The article deals with phenomenon of lexicalization of the inside form of plants’ names in the Russian language in comparison with English and Czech. Lexicalization of a word inside form is defined as acquisition of idiomatic character of a word in basis of disability of motivated relationship with other words. The sources of the research are explanatory, translated, etymological dictionaries and botanical reference books as well as statements of informants’ language consciousness. The psycholinguistic experiment with native speakers of Russian, English and Czech was examined in order to define idiomatic character of a word inside form. In the course of the motivational-comparative analysis it was defined that there are two groups of phytonims with idiomatic inside form. The first group includes such lexical units, the reason for the idiomaticity of which is low information content, that led to quick deactualization of motivated sign. The second group consists of lexical units, which idiomaticity’s reason is a loss of initial motivated sign, obvilion of one of the word meaning, though that word is well-known to native speakers of the language. In the issue of the conducted experiment a layer of phytonymic vocabulary with idiomatic and non-idiomatic inside form in the Russian, English and Czech languages was defined, specificity of lexicalization of word inside form of Russian plants’ names was described, extralinguistic and linguistic reasons of lexicalization of word inside form of phytonims were determined. In conclusion it should be noted that the phenomenon of lexicalization in Russian is an operative process, that confirms the tendency to motivation of language units. 5166 | Introduction. This article considers lexical and semantic neologisms in socio-political texts and their semantic subgroups. The theoretical and practical significance of the research is presented. The purpose of the article is to analyze neologisms in socio-political texts, divide them into groups and subgroups; define the most widespread methods of neologisms formation in English. Material and methods. The research material was taken from American and British magazines and information sites: CNN, The Guardian, the Daily Beast, the Washington Post, NBC News, Chicago Tribune, The Independent, Forbes, the Sun, Spectator, NY Post. Results and discussion. The current types of neologisms in modern socio-political texts (lexical and semantic neologisms) are defined. Lexical neologisms are completely new words that were not used earlier in the language. Semantic neologisms are those words that previously existed in the language, but which have acquired new semes. They serve various stylistic purposes and their use depends on the functional style of speech and context. The analysis of practical examples reflects the relationship between these two types of neologisms. The most frequent group is lexical neologisms. Of the 60 identified neologisms, 76.6 % (46 lexical units) belonged to the first group and only 23.4% (14 lexical units) to the second. In the sphere of socio-political texts, 4 semantic subgroups are identified, in which lexical neologisms are most often used. The subgroup “Political relations” includes 16 neologisms, “Public relations” – 15, “Personal life and human life” – 12 neologisms, and the smallest number of neologisms found belongs to the group “Internet and technology” – only 3 analyzed neologisms. Neologisms of the second group can be attributed to gender neologisms, that is, reflecting the increased interest in gender studies, feminism and gender equality in recent years. Conclusion. Lexical neologisms predominate over semantic ones in socio-political texts (76.6 and 23.4 %, respectively), however, semantic neologisms predominate in socio-political texts. The main method of forming lexical neologisms is productive word-formation models (prefixal and suffixal methods). Lexical neologisms in the analyzed texts can be divided into 4 subgroups: “Political relations”, “Social relations/ ecology”, “Internet and technology”, “Personal life and everyday life of a person”. Most often, neologisms are used in the first and second subgroups. 5176 | The article analyzes the semantic complexes connected with the representation of the Vologda region in the novel by L. Ulitskaya “Green tent”. Having studied all mentions of the region in the text the author draws to conclusion that the image of the Vologda region accumulates the traditional understanding of the province as a field of resistance and inertness, preserving underlying national traits and implementing patriarchal-family basis. The Vologda region serves as a place of exile or escape from prospective danger; the personification of family which guarantees safety and transfer the national traits of the character; it is the area of the gradual decay of the countryside world, embodiment of the Russian North in general with its “intact timid nature”. This peripheral area from the chronological point of view is interpreted as the past. Arriving from the center (Moscow) at the Vologda region looks like the descent, decline in not only patriarchal existence, but also in the history of own family. Thereof it is necessary at the lessons to change a ratio of speech activity types, to focus on communicatively significant listening comprehension and speaking and to lower the load of the traditional grammatical focused forms of education. Secondly, in a translation practice from Russian to Chinese and vice versa it is necessary to develop skills of extensive reading, that is understanding and interpretation of the main information which is contained in the text, allocations of the text meaning and the authors idea. Thirdly, the training humanization which has to be shown in positive changes of the behavioral and emotional sphere of educational process is necessary, for example, it is important to induce to a dialogue and communicative interaction, the teachers should use new interactive or open methods of training. However the humanization, according to the Chinese researchers and methodologists, shouldn't significantly transform traditional directive and imperative model of training. 5179 | The article discusses the formation of psychology of literary creative work, especially the initial stage. The formation is considered as an independent research area in Russian and international science. We show that the formation of psychology of creative work in Russia in the last third of 19th century – first half of 20th century was determined by major developments in such areas as theory of literature and scientific psychology. Additional cause of the formation was the specific status of Russian classical literature in social life. In addition, we represent a wide range of points of view, which reflect the dominant approaches to determination of the substantive aspect of the discussed phenomenon. The psychology of literary creative work is defined as a branch of scientific knowledge that studies the processes of the writer’s reflection of reality and the implementation of the processes in a specific art form. The psychology of literary creative work uses the methodological principles of either psychology or other related disciplines such as theory of literature, linguistics, aesthetics, and others. 5180 | This article focuses on the analysis of organization and content matter of student competition on History as part of the Siberian rounds of the XIII and XIV All-Russian student competitions on History among pedagogical universities held in 2016–2017 hosted by Tomsk State Pedagogical University. The authors analyze particular aspects connected with organizing academic Olympiads for bachelor’s and master’s degree students majoring in “Pedagogical Education”. A two-aspect format (comprising both theoretical and practical components) has been considered as appropriate for organizing academic Olympiads. The theoretical component is based on the tasks which allow to reveal the abilities of doing cognitive activities, the level of historical consciousness of potential teachers while the practical component involved methodological assignments which assess the abilities to apply academic performance in real educational process as well as the abilities to put into practice professional competences connected with History teachers’ pedagogical work. The forms of carrying out of various competitions (intellectual games, brainstorming, discussions, tasks on complex analysis of the historical source, section of creative methodical tasks, creation of the exhibition concept, essay contest) are described, criteria of their estimation is analyzed, the characteristic peculiarities of each competitive task are revealed. For the first time at the student competition in 2016, a new form was tested as a training session (an open lesson) with 7–8 classes schoolchildren participating. The introduction of this form into the student competitions is natural and relevant for development of student competitions movement in pedagogical universities of Russia. Moreover, the paper presents the data describing participants’ performance in particular activities; this may contribute to enhancing the efficiency of organizing academic olympiads in History, updating the technologies as well as improving the process of training participants for such kinds of events. 5187 | The authors studied the species composition of the trees of the mixed birch and pine forests of Tomsk State Pedagogical University (TSPU) practice base in the village of Kireevsk Kozhevnikovsky district of Tomsk region. As of 2014 defined taxonomic and chorological composition of plants, installed the types of life forms of trees according to ecological and morphological classification and position and method of regeneration buds. In the study area, there are 22 species of trees belonging to 17 genera and 11 families. The department Gymnospermae is represented by 1 family, 4 genera and 4 species, department Angiospermae – 10 families, 14 genera and 18 species. According to the rhythm of the foliage development domination belongs to the deciduous trees form, fanerofity od Eurasian geographical group. Therefore, the study of the psychological causes of overeating and psychological characteristics of people who are prone to overeating is of high priority. This article presents the results of studies of the feeding behavior, coping strategies and anxiety of women. It investigates coping strategies of women with different body mass index. Briefly describes psychotherapeutic training program to reduce excess body weight. Due to the increase of weight loss programs in Russia, it is necessary to extend the study of the effectiveness of the implementation of such programs. The dynamics of coping strategies and anxiety of persons involved in training is compared with women with normal eating behavior and overweight women, but not involved in the study. 5189 | In the historiography the process of formation and development of Russian national organizations, as well as their participation in the restructuring and the dismantling of the Soviet system is poorly studied. Studies show that during this period they participated in the struggle against the CPSU and leftist movements, providing support for the “right” for liberals and democrats, advocating in their programs the need to abandon the planned economy and the multinational state. The analysis of works of nationwide historiography allows us to conclude that the use of Western Siberia materials and involving them in the context of Russian national research organizations is not enough. The authors studying the problem at the national level used primarily governing body documents and materials on the activities of Russian nationalists in the European part of Russia. Researchers from Western Siberia in relation to 1980's examine the activities of “Memorial” and “Memory” to 1990's, in fragments studied activity of the Russian National Union (ROS), the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), the Russian Public Movement (ROD), the Congress of Russian Communities (KRO) and Russian National Unity (RNE). Western Siberia, one of the few regions in which conducted the analysis of the organizations that declared themselves as Russian national that makes it possible to study the activity of these organizations in order to their political doctrine. Material for the analysis were the texts of the posts written by I. A. Bogushevskaya in “LiveJournal”, which had been kept in her Internet diary from March 2005 till November 2014. Peculiarity of I. A. Bogushevskaya's individual style is a high concentration of different expressive units: conversational, non-upper class and jargonical words, units of Olbanian language, occasional units (lexical, morphological, semantic types), tropes (similes, metaphors, epithets etc.) and figures of speech (anaphora, antithesis, gradation, polysyndeton, parceling, anadiplosis, repetition). A comparative study of the theory and practice of education in Finland is due to the natural interest of researchers in the experience of countries that hold leading positions in international educational monitoring, where the Finnish system shows consistently high results. The focus of the analysis is education implemented in rural areas, the features of the activity of a rural school, the specifics of the professional activity of a rural teacher. Materials and methods. The material for the analysis was the research of Finnish scientists and specialists in the field of education, the experience of international Russian-Finnish educational projects. Results and discussion. The theory and practice of the development of education in Finland is of interest for Russian scientists and practitioners, and for researchers of the Republic of Karelia, especially, since the similarity of both territories in terms of geographical, natural-climatic, ethnocultural, demographic and other indicators is obvious. In both territories, rural schools represent a significant part of the general education system. Conclusion. Analysis of the works of Finnish and Russian scientists made it possible to: fix the coincidence of the positions of researchers regarding the peculiarities of the rural school and the specifics of the work of a rural teacher, the relevance of the socio-cultural approach to the modernization of education in rural areas, as well as the need for targeted training and support for the professional formation and development of a rural teacher in the paradigm of lifelong education ; to identify common approaches to substantiating such ways of preserving and developing a small school such as creating a socio-cultural center, transforming a school into a service center for a rural settlement (according to E.
