1308 | The article is devoted to development of a technique of training of foreign students in the Russian technical higher educational institution. The linguistic barrier is a basic reason which interferes with effective development of technical disciplines. The feature of technical disciplines is a large number of special terms and processes and the phenomena which can be described only by difficult technical formulations. The idea of this article is to search for methods to reduce the impact of the language barrier in the teaching of foreign students to Russian as a foreign language. The initial stage of training should be aimed at preparing students for training in the Russian-speaking environment. Preuniversity preparation became such a stage. Here students reach only elementary level. They are able to establish and maintain social contacts in standard situations of the daily life; they have a minimum of linguistic means, the vocabulary of such students can reach not less than a thousand of lexical units. After that the student passes to studying of special disciplines. The first step is training of the student for perception of special terminology. For this purpose foreign students were offered to study the bilingual glossary. The bilingual glossary included an interpretation of concepts in the Russian and the English languages. The reason of the choice of English is that it is an international language, in many countries it is the second official, most of electronic translators are adjusted to translate into English. The second step is the use of methods of visualization for the best perception of information. Illustrations (drawings, maps, schemes) and demonstrations (demonstration and studying of the device of special geodetic devices) were chosen as objects of visualization. The combination of these two acceptances in training of foreign students allowed to increase the level of knowledge of technical discipline considerably. 1321 | The article deals with the existing definitions of fluvioglacial deposits that are chiefly developed in the mountain lands. It also points out the main contradictions in field and laboratory diagnostics of fluvioglacial deposits contained in the fact that lithologic criteria for such diagnostics do not exist in the nature. It refers to all the facies of fluvioglacial deposits in the pre-glacial zone. The absence of lithologic criteria of distinguishing between the so-called fluvioglacial and mountainous alluvium is explained by the structure of all these deposits. It is conditioned by hydrodynamic peculiarities of the floods in which they are developed. Pre-glacial fluvial sediments undergo the process of laying many times both immediately by the glacier margin and under the glacier itself. Thus, it means that according to the well-spread classifications all the melt-water deposits (except pre-glacial lake deposits) should be called «alluvium». Besides, it often happens that some forms of a principally different genesis-diluvial origin-would be taken for the deposits of melt glacier water. The former it their turn have been formed by cataclysmic (i.e. - temporary) floods from ice-dammed lakes which outburst. Unclear diagnostics of water deposits leads to the difficulties in defining criteria to seek alluvial placers. The article shows the place of diluvial deposits in the row of other genetic types of loose sediments. The methodological approach is close to the notion of gender personality in English literature when under gender personality the combination oh individual characteristics is meant describing a person as femine, masculine, androgine or non-differential (indefinite) type by psychological qualities and preferable patterns of sex-role behavior. Investigation included 310 students, namely: 140 men and 170 young girls aged 17 – 22. 1329 | The article examines teaching methods aimed at developing students’ intercultural communicative competence whilst studying interpretation using collaborative activity pedagogy developed by G. N. Prozumentova. A special attention is paid to description of three collaborative activity organization models (authoritative, leadership, partnership). Authoritative model corresponds to closed collaborative activity which depends solely on the educator without any go-aheadedness of the learner; leadership model corresponds to “adressed” collaborative activity which implies a certain dialog between the educator and the learner, thus a certain independence of the learner; partnership model is associated with open collaborative activity involving a full-scale dialog between two equal partners - the learner and the educator. The partnership model is presumed as the most effective way of forming students’ intercultural communicative competence since it allows the partners to develop their own meanings, to grow personally and to encourage mutual personal enrichment. The educational experiment designed to develop intercultural communicative competence included different types of translation and interpretation exercices. These learning tasks were classified as either reproductive, constructive or creative which corresponds to three collaborative activity model types. The research has proved that the co-organisation of all three models with an emphasis laid to open (partnership) model has found to be the most effective way of developing students’ intercultural communicative competence as well as their interpretation skills. We picked out some types of informational waves, such as strong and weak in accordance with degree and force of influence on society; long and short according to duration of social interest to informational occasion, which stimulates informational waves. In accordance with form and character of informational waves’ spreading (peculiarities of their components’ realization in global communicative sphere) we distinguish such types of informational waves as cumulative resonance; cascade; funnel; prism. We described peculiarities of every type. 1346 | This paper is the continuation of the one, called «Russian Patronymics», published in this Journal earlier [1999, № 1 (10), p. 43-46]. The classification of lexical couples «genus-totem» is considered in it, that is very significant to understand bases of Russian ancestral anthroponymics. Some tens of Ants tribe of genera (one of 9 Great Rus' tribes), in which were established ornithological totems, have been considered. Objective characteristics, distinguished the Russian ancestral (generic) names from ungeneric, are enumerated here. On the example of the surname Ivanov it is seen, that this surname is characterized by all generic signs. The history of its arising is narrated in verbal stories. The active structure, the predecessor of the nominative one, determined the morphological, syntactical and semantic aspects of the language. Binary opposition of the active and inactive cases developed into a new opposition which at the moment of the formation of the nominative structure consisted of the subject case (genitive) and the object case (accusative and nominative).
