The article analyses the state of the Russian language in American education in the XXI century. As Russian is critically important for the USA, its teaching is closely connected with the issues of national defense and national security. The article shows that the present cooling of the relationship between Russia and the USA should not be regarded as the key factor in teaching Russian in American system of education and does not predetermine to a great extent the interest of Americans in learning it. The author focuses on the factors that may stimulate the interest in the Russian language in the USA, such as the activity of Russian communities, appearance of working places for Russian language specialists, spread of student and academic exchange programs, and the existence of the policy of the government which will aim at promoting foreign language teaching in the country in general. The article gives examples of the present day interest in Russian in the USA such as Russian dual programs, Russian-American exchange programs, student Olympiads, academic cooperation. The article looks at statistical data of the spread of the Russian language in American educational system nowadays and discusses the future perspective of the Russian language learning and teaching in the country.

The notion of mistake or error is often central in translation teaching methods, as can be seen in the way teachers assess students’ work: their role often consists entirely in correcting mistakes. The article describes the method of working with the linguistic dictionaries of different types in elementary school. The importance of this topic is conditioned by the need to develop verbal-logic thinking of junior schoolchild, which is impossible without a sufficient amount of words - operators of cognitive processes. For this reason, an important place in the new standards for primary education is given to training to work with dictionaries. The authors point to the factors affecting the formation of skills of work with dictionaries, namely: teachers do not form the conditions under which a child should use a dictionary; teachers do not have sufficient preparation for such work; There are no reasonable technologies for working with dictionaries. Meanwhile, the ability to use reference books is a universal educational action, every student should have this ability. The ratio of the dictionary and the information contained in it to the value, knowledge of dictionaries of various types, and how each of them can be considered is a manifestation of this ability. In this regard the authors identify phases of work with dictionaries in primary school, the conditions of effectiveness of this work, describe the set of learning actions with dictionaries. Requirements for modern dictionary for a junior schoolchild include, in particular, quantity limitation, the actual structure of the Glossary, a close connection with the educational-methodical complex used in this class. Special attention is paid to the methods of work with monolingual, spelling and orthoepic dictionaries, which are basic for junior schoolchild.

The article is devoted to slang units as a component of one of the sub-strata, which are present in every national language and comprehended by linguists at the level of the language system, and from the point of view of the functioning within certain areas of interpersonal and social communication. The subject of the study is the jargon, manifesting the specifics of the speech activity of the Chinese youth. The linguocultural angle of attention allows to explore the extra-literary lexicon of this category with the reference to manifestations of national culture. Substantiates the definition of jargon as linguocultural units that represent the specificity of a particular linguistic culture primarily in the context of intercultural interaction. It is noted that the study of certain strata of vocabulary as linguistic markers of national culture is relevant today in the context of the observed expansion of international relations and multicultural space communications, as well as the entry of humanity in the era of globalization and widespread information. The system of Chinese youth slang is traditionally exposed to the sublanguage differing stylistic markedness in relation to the literary norm. The use of slang words and expressions in China is characterized by centuries-old tradition, which in the light of their study in the aspect linguocultural mainstream is defined as one of the most important tasks of linguists.

Customarily one speaks of the influence that great Russian playwrights like Gogol, Sukhovo-Kobylin and Ostrovsky had on Nikolai Erdman. But it can be shown that Erdman also knew well the works of other classic writers, such as Fyodor Dostoevsky and Alexander Blok. This becomes clear when conducting even a simple analysis of Dostoevsky’s “The Devils,” Blok’s famous essays on revolution and Erdman’s “The Suicide.” Dostoevsky’s Kirillov and Erdman’s Podsekalnikov are both individuals that others seek to push into the act of committing suicide for the general good. By the same token, one can even find the germ of the basic plot complication in Erdman’s play in one of Blok’s essays. Any of Erdman’s characters who have a vested interest in Podsekalnikov’s death could easily have uttered this phrase from Blok: “How can I object to a person who has been driven to suicide by the demands of individualism, demonism, aesthetics or, finally, the most concrete, most banal need of despair and anguish?” The point, however, is not so much that we can find echoes reverberating among the works of Erdman, Dostoevsky and Blok, but rather that these echoes allow us to determine that Erdman’s task in writing “The Suicide” was far greater than just to write a satire. In “The Suicide” Erdman created his own artistic universe which embodies his own unique philosophical world view.

Introduction. The article offers a selection and classification of modern English language units of terminological character with etymological comments. The aim of the paper is to consider terminologisms or terms with transferred meaning. Terminologism is a language unit with several components which has either direct terminological or professional meaning. This direct meaning becomes the basis for derived, figurative meaning. It is fixed in speech as a result of repeated use. Material and methods. The language material of this article includes 555 terminological units collected from special philological researches and specialized modern dictionaries of English idioms. The analyzed language units are divided into subgroups by source. The most productive areas of terminology are sports, military and maritime fundamentals, gambling. Moreover, there is reference to language units from the hunting area, theatre, arts, and various sciences. Further on, terminologisms are considered from the point of view of transparency, deducibility of their meaning: both direct and figurative. Results and discussion. It is noted that such fixed expressions can be both completely transparent, clear and completely opaque. Transparent terminologisms, as a rule, are understandable due to the inner form (components) and figurative meaning. Transparent terminologisms are known and recognizable because of general cultural background of the addressee as well. Opaque terminologisms are divided into two groups. On the one hand, there are fixed expressions that contain a specific component. This specific component is a term with the meaning unknown to common people. On the other hand, the inner form of the fixed expression is not entirely understandable. Although all the components are clear, the image conveyed by the term is not clear at all. As a result, the figurative meaning of this term is not deducible. The article comments on the meanings of terminologisms which are considered difficult for understanding. Real examples and dictionary definitions of direct and figurative meanings are given. At the end, the results of the study are summarized. Conclusion. The result of the survey can be used in the special course on modern English phraseology. As a subject of further research, it is assumed that the media and the Internet have the potential for the formation of new modern English terminological units and terminologisms as well.

It has been established that the course administration (5 days at a dose of 16 mg/kg per os) of extracts of Aralia mandshurica or Rhodiola rosea decreased the incidence of ischemic and reperfusion ventricular arrhythmias during a 10-min coronary artery occlusion and a 10-min reperfusion. Extracts of Eleutherococcus senticosus, Leuzea carthamoides and Panax ginseng had no effect on the incidence of ischemic and reperfusion arrhythmias. Chronic administration of Aralia, Rhodiola and Eleutherococcus increased the ventricular fibrillation threshold (VFT) value in rats with postinfarction cardiosclerosis. Ginseng and Leuzea did not affect the VFT in rats with postinfarction cardiosclerosis.

By 27 apparently healthy youth and 29 girl teen-age was investigated the interrelation of intellectual measure and accuracy of time perception with high frequency of electrical brain activity – gamma-rhythm. Connection of intellectual measure and accuracy time perception with level of cortical interaction on frequency gamma-rhythm activity and fazes of interaction between gamma-rhythm and low frequency composes of EEG was discovered.

Now the children of «risk group» are trained in general educational classes with high filling. Use of possibilities of game activity and classes of physical training is effectively for correction of psychoemotional and cognitive spheres of younger schoolboys. On the basis of the indicators revealed in research the complex of elements of psychological and pedagogical correction has been developed for use at physical training lessons, as with children of «risk group», and with younger schoolboys in general. Decrease of level of anxiety, improvement of indicators of cognitive sphere, physical readiness, behaviour change is direct at a lesson of physical training and improvement of mutual relations in class testifys of positive influence of specially picked over means and methods to the younger schoolboy's person.
