| 473 | In this article we tried to analyze the use of allusions in terms of a literary text used to create a comic effect. Allusion is a meaningful stylistic device in semantics of which one can find a pattern of knowledge that is due to be activated during the process of communication and thus sending the reader to the source of the original reference. The English language has a lot of idiomatic expressions, proverbs, sayings and allusions that are often used in fine literature texts, media texts and also in daily communication of English speakers. Allusion is important for making the text deep and its interpretations numerical. As a stylistic device allusion can be used to make the text richer. This device also allows the author to render his intentions the way he wants to and in some sort of an encrypted form, shape. The ability to see and decode the hidden message in regard to some fact that is well-known for a reader gives him satisfaction and esthetic sense of admiration from a self-decoded mystery. The reader’s main objective is not to just guess the reference but also to decode the idea, the author’s intention that he expressed by means of allusion. In this article we view different types of allusions and we focus our research on biblical expressions. Depending on the text genre allusions can have numerous functions. For example, in the comic literary text an author can use biblical expressions not make his text more religious or devout but to lighten the mood and focus reader’s attention on his own view on religion. Thus a reader’s opinion can be well influenced by author’s way of using allusions. | 478 | Identified causes of mental retardation in primary school children, including organic deficiency of the nervous system. Identifies the main contradiction proving the statement of the problem of formation of logical skills in primary school children with disabilities (for example, mental retardation) when learning math in elementary school. Groups of general logical skills: feature extraction, mathematical objects and their usage; classification; construction definitions; simple reasoning and evidence. Difficulties in constructing simple reasoning in solving mathematical problems by junior schoolchildren are analyzed. For example, the methods of work on the classification of expressions according to arithmetic action. Through modification the main educational objectives of students formed the ability to analyze, compare, allocate the basis for the classification, sharing many classes. A brief characteristic of the formation of logical skills in children with mental retardation, the diagnostic results of their formation at the ascertaining stage, and their qualitative analysis are given. Psychological and pedagogical conditions that contribute to the optimal formation of logical skills in primary schoolchildren with mental retardation are singled out and justified. The results of the control diagnostics of logical skills’ development are given, allowing to judge the effectiveness of the selected conditions and the experimental work. Practical recommendations for the formation of logical skills of junior schoolchildren with mental retardation are formulated. | 479 | The paper is devoted to the description of one of the phenomena of the modern media space, namely fake news. To denote the thing under study a lot of terms are used in different scientific paradigms: fake news, false news, mediamystification, information attack, media-fake. The term “fake news” is considered by the author to be the most appropriate one as it coincides with the genre aspect of the phenomenon under study, it reflects the dominant role of the fake news usage as the leading instrument of information and psychological warfare. The author gives the characteristics of the structural, linguistic, pragmatic and discursive peculiarities of the fake news. It is pointed out that to some extent fake news may be identical to newspaper hoax but the latter is mainly used in the framework of the paper-based mass-media whereas the Internet makes it necessary to create new terms for denoting newly emerged phenomena. The terms “fake news” and “newspaper hoax” also differ in the scale of their consequences: the latter might be quite harmless while the former might provoke cyberterrorism. The author gives some pieces of advice how to distinguish fake news from real messages in the modern mass-media discourse. The set of these rules might be helpful not only for ordinary readers but also for the journalists, i.e. for those who generate news. | 483 | The paper deals with the history of Palestine over the period of the British mandate from 1922 till 1948, analysis of the relationship between Palestinian Arabs and Zionists, description of the socio-political and economic situation in the country, revelation of the role of the mandate-holder (Britain), contributed to a great extent to the partition of Palestine and the formation of Israel as a separate state. The object of research is Palestine during the creation of the post-colonial system of international relations after the First World War; the subject is the political and economic situation in Palestine in the period of the British mandate. The theoretical significance of the research is that it reveals the origins of the continuing Arab-Jewish conflict which has a destabilizing effect on the situation in the region and touches the geopolitical interests of leading political players. The analysis of the political and economic situation allows to identify the following causes contributing to the still ongoing Arab-Israeli conflict: (1) the dual character of the policies of the mandate-holder who is not interested in the creation of an independent Arab state in Palestine; (2) the growing economic dependence and impoverishment of Palestinian Arabs against the background of unlimited buying up the agricultural lands by the Zionist funds; (3) political disorganization and disunity of the Arab population, the absence of formed political forces able to defend the interests of the Arab people of Palestine; (4) the increasing influence of Zionists and of their organizations in Palestine; (5) a growing number of Jewish immigrants and the intensive erection of Jewish settlements in the territories belonging to the Palestinian Arabs. | 496 | An adverse ecological hygienic situation in Tomsk region is reflected in the dynamics of the incidence and disability indicators within 1991-2003 years. The common disease incidence is increased by 31,8 %. The number of people with a chronic pathology is increased by 54,2 %. The medical examination in 2002 revealed that 60,3 % of children at the age of 0 – 18 years have deviations in the state of health. An increase in the number of consumptive children by 30 % causes a particular alarm. In early 2004, 53 371 invalids were registered in the region. Among them, 62,3 % of townsmen and 37,7 % of villagers. An increase in the number of invalids of 1 and 2 groups is indicative of the worsening of the population health. The main reason of the disability is the group “systemic disease”. The cardiovascular diseases take first place, cancer diseases take second place, trauma and poisoning consequences take third place, diseases of bones and muscles take fourth place, and tuberculosis takes fifth place. The level of the children disability is increased by 24,6 %. The congenital anomalies take first place in the city, whereas the children mental disorders are in the lead in the village. | 1271 | |||||
