Moskvitina Tatyana Nikolaevna KEYWORD DISTINGUISHING METHODS IN THE PROCESS OF SCIENTIFIC TEXTS RENDERING // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2018. Issue 8 (197). P. 45-50

The article deals with the problem of adequate keyword distinguishing from scientific texts in order to retain the meaning of the text and to lessen the risk of misinterpretation of information rendered by it. There is a great need for the effective methods of automatic keyword extraction due to the excessiveness of the data. The article presents the review of up-to-date approaches to text rendering and keyword distinguishing in foreign and Russian research. This research is essential for further investigation of the problem as it shows the advantages and disadvantages of the approaches found. The existing methods are subdivided into four groups: statistical approaches, natural language processing, machine training methods, hybrid methods combining the above mentioned three groups. The second part of the article presents a hybrid method for extracting keywords from scientific texts in the process of rendering law texts. It employs statistical and empiric approaches at its beginning taking into consideration the formal features of keywords (frequency, information weight, position). The next stages include linguistic methods of lexico-semantic analysis, building of word chains, the part-of-speech analysis. The final stage of extracting the categorical component of the meaning of the keywords is essential for describing the concept of the text and allows to restore the meaning of the whole text out of the few keywords. The research presents a list of categorical components of keywords extracted from abstracts of scientific texts of law discourse, which is the result of the application of the suggested method.

The article examines teaching methods aimed at developing students’ intercultural communicative competence whilst studying interpretation using collaborative activity pedagogy developed by G. N. Prozumentova. A special attention is paid to description of three collaborative activity organization models (authoritative, leadership, partnership). Authoritative model corresponds to closed collaborative activity which depends solely on the educator without any go-aheadedness of the learner; leadership model corresponds to “adressed” collaborative activity which implies a certain dialog between the educator and the learner, thus a certain independence of the learner; partnership model is associated with open collaborative activity involving a full-scale dialog between two equal partners - the learner and the educator. The partnership model is presumed as the most effective way of forming students’ intercultural communicative competence since it allows the partners to develop their own meanings, to grow personally and to encourage mutual personal enrichment. The educational experiment designed to develop intercultural communicative competence included different types of translation and interpretation exercices. These learning tasks were classified as either reproductive, constructive or creative which corresponds to three collaborative activity model types. The research has proved that the co-organisation of all three models with an emphasis laid to open (partnership) model has found to be the most effective way of developing students’ intercultural communicative competence as well as their interpretation skills.

It is known that Akhmatova had an idea of changing the poem into a kind of «dancing action with singing from behind the scene. All these made it possible for Anna Akhmatova to call her poem «shamanics».

Poleva Elena Aleksandrovna SOTERIOLOGIC PROBLEMATICS IN THE NOVEL BY VLADIMIR SOROKIN “METEL” // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 11 (188). P. 226-235

The examination of different ideas and versions of salvation is found in a number of works by modern Russian writers, including Sorokin’s novel “Metel’” (Snowstorm) (2010). The central character doctor Garin realises his mission of the Savior. He is going in a place captured by epidemic of plague, which conditoins plot development. The allusion plan is important, since by building references to the Russian literature of the 19th and 20th centuries Sorokin rethinks the traditional for Russian culture questions: responsibility of intelligentsia to the people, possibilities of correction of low human nature (by divine effect or by following to ethics rules or a call of duty). Author’s understanding of soteriologic problematics is developed through motive of salvation and motives of futility, destruction, illness, entropy that are antonymous to it. The article analyses the images of characters and features of creative space of the novel “Snowstorm”. It is specified, that images of Garin and Perkhushin are referenced to traditional types of the Russian literature: a barin and a muzhik, an intellectual and a representative of the people, the God’s fool (blissful) and impious. The space of the novel is organised by opposition: home – homelessness (snowstorm). The home associates with paradise, safe existence, heat, and the snowstorm does with cold, death, lack of roads, potentially disastrous chaos of the life. The motive of a snowstorm is sent to archetipical (biblical) motive «storm in wilderness» that assumes tempting, moral test of the hero. In Sorokin’s novel Garin, who thinks of himself as a Savior, does not pass the test: he defects, isn’t ethically suitable for the high mission, cannot defeat human sinful nature. He is not capable to carry out the mission of the Savior without the assistant (an ordinary muzhik, carter Perhusha); and in the end he is protected from death by the price of the life of other man. The author ironically denied secular and Christian versions of salvation: neither the hope to God (Perhusha), nor the belief in the science and capabilities of a human (Garin) do not help to execute the rescue mission: Perhusha perishes, Garin expects a difficult life after his feet are frostbitten and he is found by Chinese.

Dyachkova Ekaterina Sergeyevna FUNCTIONAL AND SEMANTIC PECULIARITIES OF SEMI-SUFFIXES AND SUFFIXES SYNONYMOUS TO THEM IN MODERN ENGLISH // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 3 (180). P. 33-37

The article dwells on the functional and semantic peculiarities of the so-called semi-suffixational elements and suffixes that have similar meaning. As a result of the comparative analysis of synonymous semi-suffixes and suffixes, the synonymous sets of semi-suffixes correlated with the corresponding sets of suffixes were revealed. It was stated that despite of being functionally and semantically close, possessing common distributional characteristics and sharing to a certain extent the same area of application, these word-building elements can’t be considered as the identical ones. The reason of it is hidden in the specific nature of the meanings of semi-suffixes: the semantics of the latest is not as wide in its denotative part but it shows more variety in its significative part than the semantics of the correlated suffixes. Moreover, suffixes demonstrate a higher degree of generalization of the lexical meaning than semi-suffixes. The author comes to the conclusion about a wider significative meaning of a semi-suffix capable of uniting more semantic characteristics and conceptional relations than the semantics of a suffix; denotative meaning of semi-suffix appeared to be more narrow and limited than the one of a suffix. Thus, significative meaning of semi-suffix contains a greater number of conceptual, semantic features and pragmatic relations.

Novikov Aleksey Dmitriyevich COMEDY “ALIEN CHILD” BY V. SHKVARKIN IN ESTIMATES OF SOVIET CRITICISM // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2019. Issue 1 (198). P. 49-57

Introduction. A brief bibliography, the main milestones of the creative path of Vasily Shkvarkin are given. The history of the plays and publications of the play “Alien Child” is recreated. Aim and objectives. The purposes of this paper is to review the reactions of Soviet criticism to the performances of the comedy «Alien Child» by V. Shkvarkin and to study the meaning that the play had for Soviet dramaturgy of its time. Materials and research methods. The research methodology is based on the historical-typological and hermeneutic approaches. Results and discussion. The study revealed the significance of the role played by the play “Alien Child” in the development of the Soviet comedy. It is shown that the reviews published in the newspaper “Pravda” to a large extent determined further critical discussion of the comedy framework. Conclusion. The performances of «Alien Child» were a huge success with the audience and were hotly discussed in the press. Regional authors in their assessments, follow the text of a review by Rosenthal, published in the «Pravda» newspaper. The piece by Shkvarkin was one of the most important modern comedies, so the “Alien Child” was estimated in a press within the framework of soviet drama in general. The simplicity of the plot of «Alien Child» was perceived in a positive way. Shkvarkin’s play was rated as funny, “sincere” and “warm”. Most reviewers noted in the «Alien Child» both entertaining and moral-like functions. Shkvarkin’s comedy was perceived as a very confident and significant, if not without some flaws, a step towards the development of Soviet comedy. Criticism appreciated the optimistic picture of the future that inspired the audience to work hard for the sake of a happy tomorrow. The same few claims were made to it: some unsuccessful puns and several unfinished plot moves and characters. It was perceived as a very confident and significant, though not devoid of in general insignificant flaws, step towards the development of the Soviet comedy. The artistic merits of “Alien Child” led critics to speculations about the tasks of comedies in the Soviet state.
