Pospelova S.N. PROSODIC SPEECH FEATURES IN CHILDREN'S COMMUNICATION // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2016. Issue 10 (175). P. 32-35

Child language acquisition is directly connected with the development of thinking and cognitive development, what is reflected in a child’s play as a form of communication. As the most russian psychologists and phsycolinguists claim, play activity is the top priority at the preschool age. Acquiring the prosodic characteristics of the speech also plays an important part in language acquisition. This paper provides the analysis of prosodic features of child speech at different rates of emotional intensity (with the use of child’s play as an example) and makes the connection between the prosodic organization of the speech and the speaker’s intention. According to the results of our research, the personal prosodic characteristics of the self-identity speech vary from the ones of the role-identity speech/the personal prosodic characteristics differ depending on whether the speech act is made in self- or role-identity.

Sleptsova S.V., Akinshina I.B., Avilova I.A. On the typology of telescoped words (based on the material of French journalism) // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2023. Issue 4 (228). P. 76-83

The vocabulary of any language is updated from time to time. The mass media contribute quite effectively to this process, especially in the field of word formation. One of the ways of word formation in the language of French journalism is blending, which seeks not only to emotionally influence the recipient, attracting his attention to events, but also to use speech means economically. French newspapers aimed at a wide range of readers served as the material for the study. The empirical base of the study was formed by using the means of random sampling. Based on the research work of John Algeo, who studies the means of forming telescoped words in English, the study made it possible to identify and compile a typology of telescopic lexical units used in the language of modern French journalism: 1) lexical units obtained by merging complete initial components; 2) lexical units with truncation of finite elements of the first initial components; 3) lexical units with complete coincidence of individual elements of the initial components and their overlap; 4) lexical units with the finite element truncation of both initial components. The analysis of the vocabulary of each type by lexical meanings, morphological features and grammatical categories made it possible to develop the models of French blend words. In all models, parts of speech expressed by nouns, adjectives and verbs are involved in the process of merging. The first type of blend formations includes a model based on the combination of two nouns, which, as a result, give a new word, also expressed by a noun. The most widespread model in the language of the French journalism is the second type, with the truncation of the second element of the first component of the initial lexical units. Five models of telescoped units have been registered in this type. The components of these word formation models are nouns, adjectives and verbs. When two words expressed by a verb merge, as a result of addition the suffixes ment/age, a telescoped word expressed by a noun is formed. The third type of telescoped words includes a model that connects adjectives and nouns. In this case, the middle part of the newly formed word is a complete coincidence of the two initial components. The fourth type is characterized by two models: the first of them is based on the creation of a noun due to the combination of two verbs, and the second includes terms formed from Greek components.

Pushkareva Y.E. Image of a Rose in the Poetry by M. I. Tsvetaeva: Semantic and Stylistic Analysis // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2024. Issue 1 (231). P. 77-86

The semantics of the image of a rose considered in the researches dedicated to the semantics of flowers has mythological roots. 67 verses by Tsvetaeva, from her early works to 1925, contain the image of a rose. The research purpose is to reveal the dynamics of semantic and stylistic features of the word-image rose expressed in a plural form (roses) analyzing lexical structure of the text. The poems containing this image have a lot of aesthetic differences. The research material includes 41 verses, from the early works to 1925. The texts are selected from Dictionary of the Poetic Language of M. I. Tsvetaeva. Philological analysis is based on the theories of M. N. Kozhina and N. S. Bolotnova. The authors consider the texts chronologically, which allows them to follow the dynamics of semantic and stylistic features of the image in different periods. The authors use the periodization developed by O. G. Revzina. In the collection of verses The Evening Album, roses express semantics of beauty and love; they are associated with a bright unreal space, with the image of a crown, the motif of martyrdom, sacral topics. The image of roses becomes a detail of stories and portraits. In the collection Youthful Verses, the word roses is, mainly, a detail of a portrait. Besides, the image of roses in this period is tied to the topics of death and writing. In the poems of 1916–1919, roses are an aesthetic element of sketches, a detail of the plot; they characterize the images considered by the heroine and have an evaluative function. The lyrical subject generalizes her feelings associating roses with the retrospection considered by the heroine in a new period of her life. In the theatrical 1918, Tsvetaeva often uses the plural form roses in dramatic sketches. The image of roses is developing as a vivid detail. In 1919 the image of roses has a descriptive function in genitive metaphors and a comparison with the semantics of strength, energy, and love. In the verses of the 1920s, the image of roses is associated with the topics of writing, talent, and a special role of the poet. The topics of love, writing, being are interrelated and expressed in the verses until 1925. In the poems where the image of roses expresses the topic of unrequited love, roses become a symbol of love as the beginning of life; being loyal to love is a great sense and a heavy burden. The image of roses, compared with the early verses, becomes deeper in the semantic aspect, more metaphorical and symbolic; Tsvetaeva often includes it in the expressive constructions typical for her.

Smirnova A.V. METAPHOR AS THE COGNITIVE ELEMENT OF EMOTIONS’ TRANSFER ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE GERMAN LANGUAGE // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2016. Issue 2 (167). P. 16-19

This article represents the metaphor as an object of research in cognitive linguistics. Language is a means of information processing and transfer, and metaphor is a universal cognitive reception of an assessment and explanation of the world. Being guided by our experience we express our opinion using words of certain semantics, the meaning of which vary depending on the context. According to the opinions on connection of semantics with reality we observe the language phenomenon of metaphors and its use as a means of transmitting emotions and feelings. At first we give the short information of a metaphor as stylistic phenomenon: definition, types, functions. In the XX century such direction as cognitive linguistic begins to develop. On its basis we analyze the metaphor as a means of expression of emotionality in language. The metaphor is considered as the capacity storing certain contents, in this case emotions. Emotions are classified as: liquids, temperature, movement, illness. Metaphor makes the speech more figurative and expressive.

Keywords: metaphor, speech pattern, expressional coloring, usual metaphors, innovative metaphors, creative metaphors, emotion as a liquid in a capacity, metaphor-container

Khodina E.Y. Prose Miniatures of A. Givargizov from the Book “Transition”: Experience of Analysis of a Creolized Text // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2023. Issue 1 (225). P. 123-131

The existing studies of techniques and strategies of text creolization prove the interest of scientists in semiotically complex objects that combine the principles of verbal and visual coding of information. However, the creolized prose miniature for children is a little-studied phenomenon, although it occupies a significant place in the history of children’s literature and the modern literary process. The aim is to analyze the features of creolized prose miniatures for children created by modern writer Arthur Givargizov and illustrator Victoria Semykina. The research material is prose miniatures from the book “Transition” by Arthur Givargizov. The research is carried out in line with the semiotic approach to text analysis, based on literary works on prose miniature, including in the works of modern children’s writers, as well as on techniques and strategies of text creolization. The creolized prose miniature for children is an integral verbal-visual phenomenon that incorporates the properties of various sign systems. Its characteristic features are a laconic plot and (or) figuratively completed verbal text that makes up a figurative and semantic unity with visual elements. Prosaic miniatures can go back to a variety of genre matrices. Artur Givargizov turns to the genres of anecdote and fiction. The absurdist poetics of the texts also determines the specifics of the illustrations: they show the artist’s play with proportions, onomatopoeia is used as elements of illustration, etc. Thematically, the miniatures of Givargizov’s book “Transition” beat the title of the book. In general, they are about the rules of a child’s existence in social and fantasy-game realities, about the possibilities and difficulties of transition from one to another. Another meaning of the title of the book is the comprehension of the difficulties of transition from the language of traffic rules symbols to the language of the game, which cause communicative failures in the relations of children and adults. When creolizing miniatures of the book “Transition”, different strategies are used: in most cases, the image frames the text, creating additional semantic accents and bringing the artist’s interpretation into the ideological and thematic field of the work. But in a number of A. Givargizov’s miniatures, the visual appearance of the printed text created by V. Semykina is turned into part of the illustration: the font and its location completes the image, which, in turn, complements or reinforces the associative and ideological-thematic content of the verbal text. The figurative-semantic fusion of the verbal and visual components in the book “Transition” allows us to talk about a creolized text. Through the strategies of croelization by Arthur Givargizov and Victoria Semykina, the author’s game is realized with the reader/viewer, who is invited to grasp the semantic relationship of the verbal and visual components of the text.

Bulgakova M.G. INTERACTION OF GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES AND PUBLIC STRUCTURES OF IRKUTSK REGION IN PUPILS’ UPBRINGING IN THE 1990S: PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2016. Issue 5 (170). P. 183-189

The article considers the issues of education of schoolchildren through interagency cooperation and participation of public structures on the example of the Irkutsk region. Insufficient involvement of children was explained as a result of insufficient financing, shortage of qualified personnel, reluctance of pupils to participate in the work. It is shown that in the region, while maintaining traditional links between the various departments in matters of education appeared new forms of interaction between education authorities and public organizations. Thereby, on the base of existing positive experience of interaction with agencies and public, education authorities must interact more actively with social movements and business structures, encourage pedagogues and public figures whose activity is connected with involvement and work with children in public associations.

Noskova N.Y. SPEECH CULTURE OF PUPILS IN THE CONTEXT OF THE INFLUENCE OF MEDIA // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2015. Issue 8 (161). P. 27-29

This article describes the problems of teaching in school phraseology. We analyzed the work of scientists and researchers in the field of teaching of Russian. Analysis of the research showed that the tasks and exercises in phraseology are reduced to finding a linguistic unit in the text and its interpretation. The development of the Russian language phraseological system of the pupils of 5, 7, 11 classes was monitored. It is shown that the episodic nature of teaching Russian language phraseology led to a decrease in the level of literacy of students. Identified and proved the necessity of using modern media as a material for teaching Russian language phraseology in order to update the communicative skills of students.

Sergeyeva E.V. Features of the artistic conceptsphere representation // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2024. Issue 6 (236). P. 56-64

The fundamental, from the author’s point of view, concepts of linguo-aesthetic analysis of a literary text are considered: expresseme and concept. An expresseme is understood as a component of a literary text that provides the perception of the expressive and figurative qualities of aesthetic linguistic material. A concept is defined as a named linguomental construct, embodied in the language in an associative-semantic field. An artistic concept is defined as a phenomenon that is not fundamentally different from the concept in the linguistic picture of the world, but represents the artistic picture of the world and is explicated by figurative means in the broadest sense. The specificity of the presentation of the conceptsphere of F. Tyutchev’s poetic creativity, which is a clearly organized system, is described. The features of the presentation of the concepts NATURE, GOD, LOVE, SLAVRY in the poetic works of F. Tyutchev are analyzed. The focus is on words and super-word nominations, common to the zone of associativesemantic fields, representing three fundamental concepts for F. Tyutchev: GOD, NATURE, LOVE. The concept NATURE qualifies as the most significant in the conceptual sphere of F. Tyutchev’s poetry. Its explicators are primarily lexical expressemes – words and tropical phrases, as well as small figurative syntactic constructions. It is stated that the ideological and artistic concept of GOD is represented by both traditional verbalizers and expressems. The concept LOVE, despite the significance of its content for the poet and its intersection with the field of the concept NATURE, cannot be considered central in his conceptual sphere. The ideological concept SLAVYNESS, which does not include artistic verbalizers in its field, is nevertheless a significant component of the conceptual sphere of F. Tyutchev’s poetic creativity, since it embodies an extremely important point of view for the poet’s worldview on Slavism as a really existing political and moral phenomenon. Consideration of the specifics of the explication of the concept sphere of F. Tyutchev’s poetry allows us to come to the conclusion that the basis of this conceptsphere is the artistic concept NATURE, the associative-semantic field of which intersects with the fields of the equally significant, but less demonstratively presented concept LOVE and the ideological and artistic concept GOD. The ideological concept SLAVRY is interesting not only because it is not represented by expressemes, but also because its associative-semantic field does not intersect with the fields of other components of the conceptsphere.

Polyakova N.V. SCIENTIFIC AND THEORETICAL FUNDAMENTALS OF THE USE OF NATIONAL TRADITIONS IN EDUCATIONAL PROCESS // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2016. Issue 11 (176). P. 120-123

The social and economic transformations occurring in the modern society inevitably cause the change of educational policy of the Russian Federation. The modern educational system has to reflect not only the interests of the state, but also the interests of the separate ethnoses and ethnic groups living on the territory of Russia. One of the possible ways of implementation of the new educational doctrine of the general education is the use of national traditions in educational process. The national pedagogy is a reliable basis for improvement of quality of teaching and educational process as it reflects ideals and views of the nation, concepts of a person, family, children, and upbringing of younger generation. The sayings, proverbs, fairy tales, legends, and songs handed down from generation to generation reflect the riches of pedagogical culture of various ethnoses and ethnic groups. The national pedagogy represents a set of pedagogical data and educational experience which has remained in narratives, customs, and ceremonies. The modern educational system has to realize the principle ‘from perception of the culture of your own nation through the native language to the culture of the neighboring people’, then to inclusion to the world culture. The leading idea of ethnopedagogy is the achievement of the harmonious development of the personality due to the natural and biological, social and spiritual potential of this or that ethnos. The attitude to the world with the moral responsibility before the world and itself was created in the national pedagogy.

The article contains the analysis of the content of the leaflets of the party organizations of the Russian Social-Democratic Labour Party (RSDLP) and the Socialist Revolutionary Party (SRP) acting in Omsk. These parties following the publication of the Manifesto of October 17, 1905 continued to struggle against the autocracy under the slogan of the Constituent Assembly and the declaration of a democratic republic. Activities of revolutionaries proceeded in a still continuing revolutionary movement. However, from the pre-existing political union of opposition and the revolutionary forces resigned the representatives of the bourgeois opposition represented by the Cadets, Octobrists. Narrowed the social base of the revolutionary parties, from their active support of the petty-bourgeois strata of the population moved away, the bulk of the students, intellectuals concessions satisfaction of the ruling dynasty. One of the sources characterizing the activity of the revolutionary party is the leaflet issued by their regional organizations. They give an opportunity to have an idea about the educational level of the members of underground organizations who are the authors of the leaflets, provide the insights into the attitudes of revolutionaries in the current political developments in the country and its individual regions. In addition to leaflets, as a source, provide an opportunity to complement the material contained in traditional sources by the alternative information about the events that took place during the study period.

Petrova N.G., Baklanova E.A. PECULIARITIES OF THE CONCEPT “LIFE” IN THE SHORT NOVEL “ONKA” BY G. I. KLIMOVSKAYA // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2022. Issue 3 (221). P. 97-106

Introduction. The study of the concept “life” has been carried out lately from the point of view of different linguistic stances (linguoculture, cognitive linguistics, rhetoric, etc.). The abundance of papers which explore the above-mentioned concept is justified by the fact that it is existentialistically important for the whole nation and for each individual. The aim is to reveal the peculiarities of the concept “life” in the belles-lettres world picture of the Siberian writer G. I. Klimovskaya. Material and methods. The study of the short novel “Onka” by G. I. Klimovskaya is carried out from the point of view of regulativity theory which is one of the directions of communicative text stylistics. Moreover, with the aim of revealing the peculiarities of the concept “life” the theory of V. I. Karasik was taken into account according to which the imaginative, notional, and axiological components in the concept structure are differentiated. Results and discussion. It is stated that the concept “life” in the short novel “Onka” by G. I. Klimovskaya is represented by such words as “life”, “live” and their derivatives, by the lexemes “alive” and “tenant”. It is established that in the notional component of the concept under study the prevalent are the semes ‘duration’ and ‘quality’, for the imaginative component the metaphor “life/death” – “scales” is characteristic which is not singled out while describing the Russian language world picture. The explicit connection of the concept “life” with the concepts “illness”, “love”, “death” is noted; the concept “life” is implicitly connected with the concept “God”. It is shown that the concept “life” in the short novel “Onka” is a hyper-concept that is formed on the basis of the through consecutive-comparative-synthesizing linguocognitive mechanism. This linguocognitive mechanism of the stimulating in the reader’s consciousness of the hyper-concept “life” is provided by the strong explicit regulative strategy of the consecutive-comparative type. Repetition and contrast are the predominant ways of regulativity that create the singled-out strategy and ensure the efficiency of the dialogue between the writer and the reader. Conclusion. The carried-out analysis lets us come to the conclusion that the concept “life” is not only of great value for G. I. Klimovskaya but also holds a valuable place in the belles-lettres world of the Siberian writer.

Results and discussion. Xenonym-interpretative мафань when entering and adapting in the network diaspora discourse, including graphic adaptation, undergoes large semantic, derivative, stylistic, morphological-syntactic transformations, demonstrating at all these levels an extremely high degree of mobility and variability. The analysis of written fixation variants showed a substantial dominance of spelling according to the normative transcription system of Chinese names written in Cyrillic alphabet, along with a significant number of and hieroglyphic writings. When the xenonym is adapted to the specifics of the morphological and syntactic structure of the Russian language, its significant grammatical variability and facts of inclusion in the process of occasional word formation are also observed. The analysis of dictionaries data, as well as corpus and other data about the use of the word in the authentic speech environment revealed a large number of different in semantics and parts of speech affiliation equivalents of translation, but also the presence of book and etiquette stylistic coloring in the Chinese language, not preserved in the Russian-speaking informal communication. Analysis of the facts of metalanguage reflection on the xenonym, as well as the totality of contexts of its use in the hypertext of diaspora discourse revealed the presence of a semantic and stylistic lacuna in the Russian language, which is filled by the xenonym мафань as a universal concept that denotes unpleasant, discomforting activity or situation. The online academic cheating (OAC) is widely discussed in academic circles of different countries. The present study was conducted after the second COVID-19 wave and therefore reflects the process of mass transition to online learning, which contributes to the originality of the research. The specificity of methodological approach is comparing the opinions of teachers and students, a total of 488 respondents answering online questionnaires. According to the data obtained, from 70 to 80 % of students resort to OAC. As a rule, students tend to use lecture and lesson materials for copying and peeking, contrary to the teachers’ perception of the use of electronic media. On detecting the deception, 57 % of teachers just admonish students, 39% deduct marks. One third of students believe that teachers tend to overlook fraud. Students report resorting to deception because of lack of confidence in their knowledge. Teachers believe that the reason lies in insufficient preparation for classes. From 50 to 70 % of respondents think that such forms of assessment as a spontaneous answer, free-source research and project work reduce cheating. According to students, individual creative tasks can be added to this list. The most important factor reducing cheating is intrinsic motivation (50-60% of students and teachers). Among the measures proposed by students to combat academic fraud, didactic methods are given the highest priority as well as students’ initiatives like the movement in social networks #iliketobehonest, whose icon is shown on a student’s screen in an online activity reflecting a conscious decision made by the student.

Transition to open economy and the concept of long-term social and economic development of Russia are connected with creation of innovative economy for occupation of the leading positions in the world market. Before professional education there was an important task to train experts who will be able to carry out updating of national economy and to provide its competitiveness at world level. Economists are at a forward boundary of the international interaction, operate in the world financial markets and can make an essential contribution to development of innovative processes. However the quality of modern training of economists doesn't meet requirements of the developing business, and part of graduates remain unclaimed in a profession. One of the reasons of such state is that the subjects of business with transition to the market began to solve the personnel requirements through labor market and ceased to participate in vocational training whereas formation of professional competence of economists requires the environment of real business which is dynamically updated and which characterizes a set of risks. The article offeres to use the educational cluster providing pedagogical interaction of subjects of heterogeneous social spheres – education, business and management of education in the region. These subjects are complementary, and their interaction increases efficiency of activity of each participant. The article considers the perspective model of training of economists which basis is joint educational activity of the subjects of education, economic business and structures of management of education in the region in an integration form of an educational cluster. Requirements to creation of model are stated, the structural characteristic of components of model is provided and functions of model are described. Practical realization of model confirmed a conclusion that an important role in innovative development is played not by certain market subjects, but their effective interaction.

The applied method is that of psychological associations, while memorizing foreign words, with the active context submerging on the example of A. Burgess’s book “A Clockwork Orange” in English. The associations fall into the content ones and purely linguistic examples, with free associations for everybody. The key to the used methods is the mediation of practice. The author of the article comes to the conclusion that only constant efforts in memorizing and creative modification of the necessary information, the worked out skill to cope with the mind problems constructively in practice are effective both in the process of education and in everyday life. The diversity of memorizing methods through practice, the projecting of the studied material onto everyday life as a hint to action are really working approaches. Liu Y. DIALЕСТ LEXEME TRAVIT’ ‘SPOIL’ AND ITS SAME-ROOT FORMATIONS IN THE LEXICAL-SEMANTIC FIELD “HARM” // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2018. Issue 6 (195). P. 58-61

The work aims to study the specifics of the semantic structure of the dialect lexeme travit’ on the basis of revealing its historical derivative relations and the reconstruction of the etymological nest and the structure of its semantic field, which is expressed in the lexical-semantic field “Harm”. As the study makes clear, the semantics of the dialect lexeme travit’ originates from ‘rub, grind’, proceeds to ‘consume, eat; exterminate’ and results in ‘damage, spoil’ (compare the dialect lexeme trava ‘edible things’) and that along with the derivatives of the root trav-, whose etymological nest includes derivatives of tir-, tr-, trav-/trov-, tru-, try- as historical variants of the root ter-/tor. The original meaning of ‘rub, grind’ served as the basis for the development of the other meanings, which are associated with the concept of “harm” in most of the lexemes of this etymological nest. The historical approach allows the authors to draw conclusions on the evolution of the semantic structure of the derivative nest as a consequence of the interaction and development of initially related concepts, expressed by the derivatives of this derivational nest. Accordingly, this allows us to trace the evolution of a certain fragment of the world picture and national Russian culture.

Pozdeeva S.I. Educational independence in the context of pedagogy of joint activity // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2023. Issue 2 (226). P. 7-15

Despite the requirements of the updated FSES LEO and FSES OOO, which point out formation of the ability to learn as the most important educational result, teachers of secondary schools have difficulties in developing such universal competence as learning independence. The problem of analyzing the different quality of educational independence and different ways of its formation is posed. The aim and objectives are to analyze the formation of the student’s educational independence in the context of the concept of pedagogy of joint activity and to substantiate the idea that its quality may be different depending on what positions the participants in joint activity occupy. Methods of theoretical analysis: the study of the history of the issue, analysis of modern challenges of the development of educational independence, pedagogy of joint activity. Learning independence is considered in the context of the pedagogy of joint activities (G. N. Prozumentova), different models and types of joint activities are analyzed, as well as different methods for the formation of independent learning. As a result of the analysis, various qualities of independence and its different types are distinguished: educationalfunctional, educational-cognitive, educational. Different types of independence of a student are associated with different positions that he occupies in educational activities (performer, co-executor, partner), as well as different types of actions carried out without the help of an adult (reproductive, constructive, creative). In addition, the different nature of independence, which is formed in the process of school education, affects the subject’s acquisition of different experiences: educational (experience of solving typical educational tasks), cognitive (experience of selfrealization of the action of cognition and discovery of a new one), educational (experience of setting and solving actual personal tasks in the field of education). It is concluded that the teacher consistently forms these different types of independence, thanks to which the student masters various ways of organizing amateur activity (reproductive, partially exploratory, personal) and leads to the development of agency as a person’s ability to act as an actor.

Liu Y. MOTIVATIONAL AND GENETIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE LEXICAL-SEMANTIC FIELD “HARM” IN THE DIALECTS OF THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2020. Issue 5 (211). P. 36-41

Introduction. This article is devoted to the study of motivational relationships and nomination models in the lexical-semantic field “Harm” based on the material of the dialects of the Russian language. The vocabulary of this field is associated with the expression of the negative utilitarian evaluation. The analysis of motivational relations and nomination models in the vocabulary of utilitarian evaluation shows the features of understanding the concept of “harm” in the minds of carriers of traditional culture. Aim and objectives. The aim is to identify structural-semantic and motivational relationships in the lexicalsemantic field “Harm”. Material and methods. Dialect material was collected from 49 issues of the Dictionary of Russian dialects. The detection of motivational features, as well as nomination models based on them, suggests a component analysis of the semantics of the derivative word in comparison with the semantics of the generating word, grouping of the signs of nomination in the model of nomination. The areal method and, in the case of an unclear internal form, the comparative historical method, serves to clarify the functional and semantic features. Results and discussion. Consideration of the motivational-genetic relationships of the units of the lexical-semantic field “Harm” in the dialects of the Russian language made it possible to identify and track the formation of the conceptual structure of negative utilitarian evaluation in traditional culture. As a result, it turned out that most field tokens have unambiguously established motivational relations, except for units of the core and the perinuclear part of the field, which have lost the transparency of motivational relations due to the historical depth of their occurrence. To reconstruct the motivational relations of these lexemes, data of etymological dictionaries are used. The analysis of semantic connections and motivational relations of field vocabulary made it possible to identify field boundaries and identify eight nomination models. Conclusion. The found motivational relations and the motivational models presented by them revealed, on the one hand, a fundamental similarity with the previously considered motivational characteristics on the material of the literary language, and on the other hand, they revealed differences associated with historical changes in motivational relations caused by the evolution of the concept of “harm”.

Korshunova O.V. The image of a modern teacher and student in the minds of first-year students – prospective educators: the results of an empirical study // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2025. Issue 2 (238). P. 25-35

The changing environment of schools and education systems call for changes in the type of teachers and their personal and professional characteristics. The generation of students is changing its parameters too. How does the teacher of today appear to their students? How do schoolchildren see each other? We tried to get answers to these questions by using the projective method «Pishu-Risuyu» for the first-year undergraduates majoring in education at Vyatka State University. This article aims to share the results of this projective method with the pedagogical community to create an image of a modern school teacher and student. The scientific novelty of the article lies in molding the “image” of a school teacher on the basis of empirical data “from students”, taking into account their individual and personal characteristics, in particular, the modality of information output. The study revealed that the “image” of a modern teacher is composed of the following characteristics: a creative, intelligent, patient, responsible person who complies with the norms of pedagogical ethics (tactful), who understands their students; b) the “image” of a modern student consists of the following parameters: inquisitive, active, creative and imaginative, proficient in IT technologies, attentive, but dependent on gadgets, cunning, and therefore lazy, but self-developing, diligent, hardworking, responsible, communicative and independent in behavior representative of the “Z” generation. Research methods: the projective method «Pishu/Risuyu» («I Write and Draw») is the main tool for collecting empirical database; ranking, methods of qualitative data processing, construction of graphic objects, analysis, synthesis, modeling (images of teacher and student), and interpretative method are all part of the process. The theoretical significance of the article lies in the confirmation / denial of some characteristic features of a modern teacher and secondary school student, identifying the transformation of ideas about the main and priority characteristics of a teacher and student, which can serve as some factual basis for confirming / clarifying generational theory. The practical significance of the article is determined by the creation of the “images” of the teacher and student, which can be taken as some guidelines for the development of personal qualities of these subjects. The obtained data can be utilized in the development of teaching strategies at universities and in the implementation of additional vocational education programs for certified teachers.

Starodubtsev V.A., Neradovskaya O.R. Structural-context approach in the pedagogical research // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2024. Issue 2 (232). P. 91-100

In the existential aspect, the modern world is characterized as BANI-world (Brittle, Anxious, Nonlinear, Incomprehensible). The reasons for this characterization are the factors of rapid obsolescence of specific knowledge, the accelerated change in the technological structure of society, the risks of environmental, energy and epidemic crises, the emergence of artificial intelligence and trainable neural networks, the large consequences of small (at first glance) events in science and public life. In such circumstances, there is a tendency to move from pragmatic pedagogy to analytical pedagogy, which contributes to the formation of conceptual pedagogical thinking. It differs from the standard-performing one in that it is aimed at a deep understanding of the meaning and essence of the fundamental principles of planning and implementing the ideas of scientific research. This path requires the development of the methodological apparatus of general pedagogy and its application in dissertation research. The purpose of the study was to substantiate the system-contextual approach in the study of pedagogical processes and educational technologies in the changing world. The source materials for the review of literature in pedagogical periodicals and in open access to the Internet were the abstracts of dissertation research along with publications in the field of the theory of pedagogical systems, forms of contextual education, environmental and other approaches in pedagogy, the theory of systems and research methods. The paper uses methods of comparative comparison of the content of publications and frequency analysis of the use of terms in them using the online open access service “Semantic text analysis online, seo-analysis of text”. A model of the pedagogical system, the dominant of which is the control unit, is proposed, which allows us to consider the system as educational. The system-contextual approach, conceptually integrating the theoretical model of the pedagogical system, the forms of contextual learning and the environmental approach in pedagogy, has been substantiated. It is concluded that a full-fledged analysis in pedagogical research requires the use of a system-contextual approach in complementary consideration of pedagogical processes of various scales and levels in inseparable connection with the context in which the processes are implemented.

Kamizi E.S., Yurina E.A. Metaphorical images of food in polycode texts of the modern Russian-language internet space // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2024. Issue 6 (236). P. 17-25

The article examines the functioning of visual metaphorical images of food in polycode texts of the modern Russian-language Internet space. The wide distribution of polycode texts in the digital environment, their transformation into an active influencing tool of mass communication determines the relevance of studying various mechanisms of interaction between visual images and verbal textual means in the information space of modern man. The purpose of the work is to study visual metaphorical images of food in texts of various discursive nature and genre and stylistic affiliation; in identifying the functions, pragmatic potential, areas of denotative application of visual metaphors with gastronomic semantics; in the description of typical situations of their use in Internet communications. Methodology and methods. The methodology of the work is based on cognitive, discursive, linguoculturological and system-structural approaches to the study of imagery of language and speech, used in the field of semantics of language units, text stylistics, semiotics of images, discursive-pragmatic analysis of Internet communication. When analyzing the visual components of a polycode text, the experience of predecessors in the field of analysis of the composition and typology of visual images that form the iconic element of its complex structure is taken into account. When collecting material, methods of sampling from open Russian-language Internet sources, methods of systematization and classification of verbal-iconic complexes were used. Visual metaphor was studied based on theories of figurative structure of language and cognitive theory of metaphor. The research material is presented in polycode texts, the iconic component of which includes images of food – products, dishes, situations of absorption and cooking. A total of 230 texts were analyzed that included or accompanied the visualization of a gastronomic image in the form of a photograph of an object, a photo collage or a drawing. The study demonstrated that in the modern open Russian-language Internet space on the websites of the media, trade, financial, public and private organizations, one of the effective influencing tools is visual gastronomic images included in polycode texts. Together with verbal elements (inscriptions on images, titles and text fragments of publications), they convey meanings of an allegorical nature, which, as a rule, are based on the figurative semantics of linguistic expressions (chop cabbage ‘make money’), the symbolism of precedent texts (“porridge from an ax” – the name of a Russian fairy tale) and phenomena (state flags, banknotes, leaders of states). The functioning of a visual food metaphor is associated with the manifestation of linguistic creativity and language play, creating a comic effect to attract the attention of the target audience – potential readers and clients. As a result, frequent visual culinary images were identified (cabbage, pies, porridge, grain, peas, mushroom, jar, pan, knife, cook), associative phenomena associated with them, creating a metaphorical and expressive-figurative effect (money, finances, animals, household items, attributes of professions), stable metaphorical models (cabbage – money, pie – financial and political value, kitchen – politics, cooking – carrying out social activities); The communicative areas of application of visual food images in polycode texts (economics, commerce, advertising, politics, entertainment) are characterized. Food metaphorical images are stable and are part of language as a culturally conditioned semiotic system. They are fixed in linguistic units and are consistently reproduced in communication, including using various methods of visualization through iconic elements of polycode texts.

Breslavets T.I., Vorobeva N.A., Kuzhel Y.L. Implementation of the principles of translation of Japanese haiku // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2023. Issue 4 (228). P. 26-34

The subject of this study was chosen by the haiku (comic poems) of the great Japanese poet Matsuo Basho (1644–1694), who won interest from scientists and translators of many countries of the world. In Japan, thanks to the work of textologists and commentators, a rich hermeneutic literature has developed that allows not only Japanese, but also foreign philologists to solve the problems of interpretation of the text and reproduce it in another language. Poems proposed by V. N. Markova (1907–1995), outstanding Russian translator and poet, allow us to highly appreciate the skill of translation and a wide range of Russian language means aimed at implementing the deep content of the Far Eastern segment of the world culture presented in haiku. The stylistic originality of haiku is analyzed in the context of aesthetic categories (yugen, sabi) inherent in the work of Basho. The associative subtext, reminiscent series, semantic variability and emotional content of the source as an object of translation are investigated. The methods of interpretation and transformation of the Japanese text are revealed, which convey to the reader the implicit properties of haiku, their peculiar technique of organizing the poetic space. It consists in applying a complex system of seasonal images-symbols (kigo), the linguistic cultural content of which calls for a recipient to co-creation. Higher human snowdrift is also achieved by the use of cesura (kireji), the diverse functionality of which requires a close view of the nuances of meanings. The attention of V. N. Markova to the author’s word, Japanese poetic tradition, the possibilities of the language of translation, linguistic contrastness, is noted. The skill of the translator allows, in order to transform the source material, it allows you to effectively use the techniques of translation activity ‒ the addition, modulation, expansion, which are based on attracting background knowledge not only about the culture of Japan, but also in China.

Bystrenkov D.L., Kazakov A.A. Shaping of the genre canon of the dystopian novel in the novel by E. I. Zamyatin “We” against the background of the historical and literary quest of the era and the internal laws of the evolution of the novel form // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2024. Issue 3 (233). P. 123-130

In modern literary criticism, no one doubts the special role of the novel by E. I. Zamyatin “We” in the dystopian literary tradition. Among the illustrative studies on the topic, we mention S. S. Romanov, who determines why the appearance of the novel “We” “marked a new stage in the development of anti-utopianism, and its author was recognized as the first classic of the genre.”This article proposes to consider the named work not only in the aspect of its direct historical and literary factuality, but to study the hidden patterns of the literary process and the mechanisms of the evolution of genre forms that have developed at the junction of the novel form and the (anti) utopian model of reality. As follows from the results of the study, the key role in these processes of the novel by E.I. Zamyatin’s “We” is determined precisely by the fact that there is a connection and complete merging of the utopian and dystopian concepts with the novel form and the formation of the genre canon of the dystopian novel. At the same time, previous significant appeals to the utopian or dystopian (by F. M. Dostoevsky, H. Wells or in Russian religious philosophy at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries) do not create such a special genre subtype of the novel, and subsequent appeals to the problem by A. P. Platonov, O. Huxley, J. Orwell, R. Bradbury and others directly or indirectly rely on Zamyatin’s canon of form.

Bezukladnikova S.S. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS AS A SPEECH GENRE OF ENGINEERING AND DIDACTIC DISCOURSE // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2022. Issue 6 (224). P. 97-107

Introduction. The article attempts to determine the specifics of the “Assembly Instructions” genre, which combines engineering and didactic components. Its purpose is to regulate the work of engineering teachers in the classroom with students of different ages. Previously, the texts of this genre were not the subject of scientific research, despite the fact that the instruction as a genre is described within the framework of IT-discourse, pedagogical discourse, teaching, engineering. However, for the first time, assembly instructions are the subject of research in engineering and didactic discourse. Material and methods. The selection of texts of the “Assembly instructions” genre was carried out on the basis of methodological materials of the international school of engineering and robotics “School of Digital Technologies” in the amount of 25 documents describing the process of assembling structures within the framework of the engineering robotics program for students of different ages (the average volume of each document is 15 pages, about 375 pages of text in total). As the main methodological model, the model of the speech genre of T. V. Shmeleva. Analysis methods: textological, quantitative, comparative analysis to identify signs of genre hybridization. Results and discussion. The paper describes the genre of “Assembly Instructions” according to seven genre-forming features: describes the means of expressing an informational and imperative communicative goal through the nomination of documents, headings, a list of necessary materials for assembling the structure and the main text; the means of describing the implicit image of the author are highlighted, such as the use of professional vocabulary and the translation of the position of “seniority”; the language markers of the direct and indirect addressee are listed, including direct nominations and deminatives; ways of describing the dictum in the algorithm for assembling structures are given; formulated approaches to creating an image of the past and future through imperative constructions and modal predicates; the means of organizing the composition of texts and the influence of compositional instability on the volume of elements from didactic and engineering discourse are described; specific forms of linguistic embodiment, including discursive formulas, are highlighted. Separately, for each feature, the means of linguistic expression of genre hybridity are described. Conclusion. The main and specific features of the “Assembly Instructions” genre of engineering and didactic discourse are shown, such as the author’s soft imperative position, the use of words in the category of state and verbs in the 1st person plural in the sense of compatibility, and a number of others.

Gubina D.I., Kovaleva A.G. Special features of teaching staff training for foreign language teaching within digitalization in Ural Federal University // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2023. Issue 5 (229). P. 76-83

Currently the government of Russian Federation provides a lot of resources for the educational system in general and for training of teaching staff, in particular. These spheres are one of the key aspects for development today. Thus, the Concept of Teaching Staff Training for the System of Education prior to 2030 (June, 24 2022) was established and adopted to increase the quality of higher education in Russia. This Concept implies mainstreaming of information and communication technologies in the system of education in Russia. It is necessary to underline, that the process of digital transformation takes place not only in the system of education but in various spheres of life, in economy, medicine, to name a few. This trend includes partial or full transition to digital media which simplify social processes that cannot always undergo offline. It became vivid during the period of pandemic when the world had to switch over to distant communication. Educational establishments address the possibilities of electronic educational environments combining educational content of various forms (text, video, audio materials). Electronic educational resources are in open access; students may practice any time from any place in case of the Internet accessibility. Whereas teachers have an opportunity to update the educational content systematically and stay in tune with students’ requirements, applying approaches of individualization and humanization of the educational process. The authors of the study highlight special features of using electronic educational courses. This paper introduces advantages and disadvantages of electronic educational courses’ application in teaching staff training for foreign language classes in terms of electronic educational courses “Foreign Language 44.03.01”, “Practice of speaking and writing (English) Semester 1”, “Lingvocultural Studies and Country Studies”.

Kozarenko O.M., Skakunova V.A. Distance education in the post-COVID-19 era (on the basis of learning the opinions of foreign language teachers) // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2023. Issue 5 (229). P. 129-136

The purpose of the study is to analyze foreign language teachers’ views on distance education (DE) in the period that is defined now as post-COVID period; on the optimal ratio of the online and offline forms of education; on main difficulties while shifting to hybrid format of education; on the changes in quality of life among teachers and in their emotional state. The anonymous answers of 120 foreign language (FL) teachers served as a basis for the research. They answered questions in the online survey. It was found 46 % of FL teachers have fully adapted to the distance teaching, but 39 % of the surveyed work remotely with great reluctance. Half of the respondents believe that online learning is effective only in combination with full-time education. For 63 % of teachers, the main difficulty of online teaching is the accumulated physical and psychological fatigue. The optimal ratio of offline and online classes in a blended learning format in order to achieve its greatest effectiveness is 50–70 % of offline classes. Teachers perceive the advantages of online learning in the more rational use of their working time (40 %), the possibility of combining it with other work. Distance learning affects the health of teachers. The received results are recommended to use for the review of teachers’ workplace conditions in online as well as in blended learning with the aim to upgrade the quality of their professional activity in blended or distance learning. The research that is based on the empirical data would be useful for specialists in digitalization of the educational system.

Cao L. Conditional relations and means of their expression through the prism of functional approach (on the material of scientific articles) // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2024. Issue 3 (233). P. 16-27

In modern studies of language, the focus of attention is on the functional features of linguistic phenomena. Functional grammar is no exception, describing the structure, content and functioning of semantic categories around which functional-semantic fields are organised, covering the whole language space and its different levels (aspectuality, modality, quantity, quality, etc.). This study considers condition as a subfield of the conditionality field, which also includes the subfields of cause, purpose, consequence and concession, which are closely related to each other both by internal logical relations and by means of their expression. Despite a number of studies devoted to the structure of the conditionality subfield and its separate manifestations, including conditional constructions, conjunctions and prepositions, the issues of discourse variability of the components of this subfield have not been specifically considered. Conditional relations seem to be most significant for scientific discourse, on the material of which this study is based. The scientific literature describes the conditional meanings characteristic of the corresponding constructions and constituting the content plan of the condition subfield. These are real-conditional, potential-conditional, unreal-conditional, as well as non-conditional meanings – conditional-temporal meaning, conditional-causal, conditional-consequential, conditional-purpose, conditional-concessive, conditional-explanatory. Thus, the conditional semantics is in the intersection with related meanings (including conditionality), is extremely diverse, as well as diverse means of its expression - at the level of simple (to be a condition, to condition, at, under condition, in the case of, etc.) and complex (with conjunctions if, if, if only, when, etc.) sentences. This study is based on the assumption that the means of expressing conditional semantics vary in different thematic types of scientific discourse. Turning to the core genre of scientific discourse – the scientific article – confirms this assumption. The material of the study was 3 708 articles from the peer-reviewed journals “The World of Russian Word” and “Bulletin of Tomsk State University”. In the course of the analysis, more than 60 000 contexts with conditional meanings, collected by the method of continuous sampling, from articles on philology, history, biology, computer science and informatics, and economics were considered. The analysis showed that not all private meanings of conditionality presented in the language are manifested in scientific discourse. When expressing conditional relations in the articles of the five mentioned subjects, the central position is occupied by simple sentences with the preposition at, at the level of a complex sentence the marker of conditional semantics is the conjunction if. The qualitative and quantitative indicators with regard to conditional constructions for articles of different themes differ significantly. Thus, the study shows the variability of the expression plan and content plan of the conditional subfield, the differences in the use of conditional units in different types of scientific discourse.
