The problem of educators’ evaluation of urban sites in order to select them and include in the educational process in accordance with current pedagogical objectives has become very important. For this purpose, teachers and educational authorities need to make organizational and teaching decisions, depending on the characteristics of urban objects under consideration. The focus of the study is to develop and describe a pedagogical assessment tool to evaluate urban facilities, which will help in making informed decisions. The aim of the study is to develop a convenient tool for educators to assess the urban environment in terms of opportunities and ways of using its various elements in the teaching process. To achieve the goal, it is necessary to identify evaluation criteria, describe them, define indicators for each criterion, and verify whether the proposed tool meets the needs of educators. To conduct the study, the methods of questioning, interviewing, analysis, modeling and verifying results of the study were used. As a result of the analysis of available scales of assessment of the educational environment, questioning and interviewing teachers, and modeling, the authors developed three criteria for pedagogical evaluation of urban facilities. These include safety, accessibility, and educational potential. Each criterion is characterized by several indicators. It is proposed to evaluate physical, psychological and informational safety, organizational, communicative, psychological and pedagogical, normative, physical, temporal, material accessibility, as well as educational value, adequacy of the object to pedagogical goals, uniqueness and effectiveness. The developed assessment tool was tested in the pedagogical community of Moscow in the form of practical works on the assessment of urban facilities and their subsequent discussion. Toktarova V.I., Fedorova S.N. DESIGN OF THE ADAPTIVE SYSTEM FOR MATHEMATICAL TRAINING OF STUDENTS: METHODOLOGICAL FOUNDATION. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2018. Issue 1 (190). P. 164-171

Training of competent specialists in HEIs who have abilities for self-fulfillment and self-actualization in their professional activities and who are balancing both personal and professional significant qualities is a strategic goal of the contemporary higher education. Today the problem of design and elaboration of the adaptive educational system is conditioned by the need to optimize and adjust the principles of traditional didactics to the challenges of contemporary information society: perfection of the content and the methods of education taking into account the universal application of information technologies; design of electronic educational environment providing the approach to the learning materials and the freedom of choice of methods, forms and assessment of the results. The article considers the issues connected with pedagogical design of the adaptive system for mathematical training of students of higher educational institutions. It gives a definition of a methodological approach, proves conceptual levels of methodological analysis: philosophical, general scientific, specific scientific, technological which form a complicated subordinate system. As a methodological framework of the research the authors consider in depth the ideas of system, synergetic, environmental, person-centered, competency building, activity, context, process, axiological, and cultural approaches. They elicited and described main functional and conceptual approaches which made a methodological foundation for the design and development of the adaptive system for mathematical training of HEI students.

Ulyanova U.A. THE FUNCTIONING OF YIDDISH BORROWINGS IN AMERICAN ENGLISH. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2021. Issue 1 (213). P. 50-56

Introduction. Borrowings from Yiddish language in the American English are considered. This layer of borrowings is of special interest in the English language as the question of systematization of borrowed words from Yiddish and their complex description has not been solved yet. The aim is to describe the structural and functional features of borrowings from the Yiddish language in the American English. Material and methods. The research material is borrowed verbs from the Yiddish language, which belong to the colloquial vocabulary (to kibitz and to schmooze). The research methods are lexicographical and contextual analysis, as well as descriptive and comparative methods. Results and discussion. The borrowed lexemes schmooze and kibitz which are elements of the lexico-semantic field «Verbal communication» have negative connotation in modern English. The analysis of vocabulary definitions and etymology has shown that the meaning of borrowed verbs in English does not coincide with the meaning of the verbs in Yiddish, as in the process of borrowing there was a gradual change in the semantics of borrowed words. The initial meaning of the verbs in Yiddish is connected with information (communication of information). The meanings of the borrowed verbs are based on the common seme «verbal influence» (hidden or obvious). The verb to schmooze has several different meanings: to talk, to manipulate, to influence, to network. The meaning of the verb to kibitz has been divided into several categories: to make ironic comments, to comment, to give intrusive and unrequested advice while watching a game, performance. The shift in the meaning of the verb to schmooze is based on the phonosemantic effect, which is produced by the sound combination schm-. The change in the meaning of the verb to kibitz can be explained by high frequency of use when it appeared in American English. Taking into account the information from academic and slang dictionaries, the exact time of appearance of the lexeme schmooze (1897) and the approximate time for the lexeme kibitz (1910-1927) has been established. Non-conformity with norms of the Yiddish language when the Yiddish borrowings are used by non-Jewish English speakers is the reason of multiple variants of spelling of borrowed words in the English language. Conclusion. The research has focused on the peculiarities of lexicography of borrowed words in academic and slang dictionaries. The results prove that it is necessary to develop an integrated approach to the description of borrowings from the Yiddish language and their description in various dictionaries.

Wang H. CODE FUNCTION OF SOMATISMS IN RUSSIAN LYRICAL SONG. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2019. Issue 4 (201). P. 138-149

Introduction. The specificity of the somatic code of culture as one of the most ancient is described. The research interest in its verbal representation is substantiated. Aim and objectives. The purpose of the article is to reveal the discursive-genre specificity of realization of the code function of somatism in the Russian folk lyrical song. Material and methods. The analysis is based on the material of 317 texts of of the genre under study, selected from folklore collections. The research methods are determined by the specificity of folk discourse, the peculiarities of ditties and lyrical songs as folklore genres with a pronounced lyrical principle, and the genre specificity of lyrical songs. As a methodological substantiation of the research, a comparison of lyrical songs and ditties are given in the aspect of identifying features important for identifying the specifics of the implementation of the code function of somatism. Results and discussion. Quantitative analysis of somatisms in the lyrical song showed that their composition corresponds to the composition of similar units in the ditty, which is justified by the structure of the general cultural somatic code and the proximity of the compared genres. The list of high-frequency units in the lyrical song is wider, which indicates the genre specificity that distinguishes the lyrical song from the ditty in the aspect of the repertoire of broadcast emotions and feelings. The specificity of the principles of organization and content of the somatic code in the lyrical song in comparison with the ditty is illustrated by the analysis of the use of somatism hand. The assumption of a genre-conditioned orientation of the lyrical song for a more detailed than in a ditty, prescription of somatic reactions and sensations, feelings reflecting the installation to the direct description of emotions and feelings, is confirmed. Conclusion. The analysis showed that the content and principles of the somatic code organization in the lyrical song, firstly, are based on its appeal to the national values, symbolically represented in the nominations of human body parts, which is typical for the folklore discourse as a whole. Secondly, in the lyrical song, the examined code acquires genre specificity, which is most pronounced when it is compared with the ditty. As a result of their comparison, it was found that somatisms participate in the transmission of emotions and feelings, which are transmitted through the description of the somatic reactions and sensations of the characters, both in the ditty and in the lyric song. Unlike ditty, in lyrical song repertoire of emotions and feelings realized by means of somatism is wider. IMoreover, these emotions appear as more generalized - on the one hand, but described in more detail - on the other.

The degree of possibility for understanding of an opposition between semantic fields is defined as a degree of authoritarian viewpoint.

Mikhalina O.A. About Specification of Problematic Field of Comparative Philosophical Research in Education. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2007. Issue 11 (74). P. 72-78

The purpose of philosophical comparative analysis is cultural synthesis; it attempts to engage a reflective meta-position. The main methodological question is the extent to which it is expedient to use the achievements of foreign experience in educational theory and practice in another country. Comparative study makes it possible to pass from descriptions to the answer of more fundamental questions: to explanation and development of reasons. The basic methods are the comparative-confront method, the historical-typological comparison and the historical-genetic comparison. It is important to combine these methods to achieve an objective result. Comparative study leads to a profound understanding of the socio-cultural basis of the society (through the problems of education)

Brief Summary. The article deals with the necessity of the anthropological shift in linguistic methodology. Generalizes the results of the philosophical and anthropological foreign and domestic studies, and records those basic anthropological principles that now form the basis of pedagogical and anthropological vision of the educational process. Covers the spectrum of definitions of the object, method and objectives of educational anthropology. At the same time diagnostics of educational achievements of students should be transferred from the mere rationality to the sphere of lingual mentality where a growing person’s “experiential philosophy” is being developed. In this approach, students are active constructors of their own world, their own moral conception of the world and of man in it. Suggests one of the possible ways of scientific-theoretical and practical-technological solution to the problem of final exam in the Russian language on the basis of the lingual concept-centric pattern, when the diagnostics is shifting from pure rationality to the sphere of linguistic thought.
