Morozova S.A. THE WAYS OF LEARNING ACTIVITIES INTENSIFICATION IN CLASSES OF MUSICAL-THEORETICAL SUBJECTS. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2016. Issue 12 (177). P. 113-116

This article is devoted to the topical problem – the intensification of learning activities in classes of musicaltheoretical subjects. These subjects play an important role in the development of hearing and musical thinking of the future professional musician. The author considers the learning activity as a complex and multicomponent process designed to change the student – the subject of training. The basic components of educational activity are carried out: the motive of learning activity, goal setting, training activities, control and evaluation. Management principles of educational activity of students are defined: management as support and maintenance, flexibility and situationality, delegation of authority and responsibility to the students. Pedagogical effect on all component parts of the category, as well as increased activity of all subjects of teaching is expected to activate the learning activity. In order to influence the component “training activities” the system of algorithms is developed for different types of learning tasks for the most demanding musical-theoretic disciplines – “Solfeggio” and “Harmony”. The first positive results are evident in the tendency to improve the quality of results, indicating involvement of students in co-management of educational activities.

Fedorova I.R. DESCRIPTION OF THE DESIGN SYSTEM OF EDUCATIONAL TASKS FOR DIAGNOSTICS OF THE LEVEL OF FORMATION OF GENERAL COMPETENCES OF STUDENTS OF THE SYSTEM OF SECONDARY VOCATIONAL EDUCATION. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 9 (186). P. 128-131

The article considers the issues connected with the peculiarities of the process of formation of General competences of students of secondary vocational education. One aspect of this problem is related to the crucial stage of the process – diagnosis of the level of their formation. It is emphasized that the strengthening of this process will allow creating complex measuring instruments. It is proposed to consider as one of the effective means for diagnosing learning objectives, which is today one of the main components of educational activities and, according to A. P. Tryapitsyna, the main integrative element in the programme structure. In this regard, the content of the system for designing learning tasks involving a number of methodological grounds, including the system-activity and competence approaches, as well as a number of theories, including the Theory of cognitive development activities by J. Piaget, the Theory of gradual formation of mental actions by P. Y. Galperin, theories of levels of learning and of learning tasks are presented. Approved the use of learning tasks in the system, in connection with which the functions of the tasks of teaching systems are allocated. Algorithm for the design of learning tasks and their systems, which is a combination of three stages: search and analytic, goal-setting, proper design.

Mikhaleva L.Z. The fundamental base of the economic management theory. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2000. Issue 5 (21). P. 16-22

The management of modern economy demands important scientific substantiation especially from the point of view of the foundation theory. The author speaks about the base being weak and suggests treating the economic society in research as the management system. For this purpose one proposes using a synthesis of social, natural and exact sciences. They include the following blocks: the economic (central) one and additional ones - the humanitarian, technical, integration sciences united by a common philosophical methodology.

Sami M., Dedich N. Unifying brane world inflation with quintessence. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2004. Issue 7 (44). P. 25-36

We review the recent attempts of unifying inflation with quintessence. It appears natural to join the two ends in the framework of brane world cosmology. The models of quintessential inflation belong to the class of non-oscillatory models for which the mechanism of conventional reheating does not work. Reheating through gravitational particle production is inefficient and leads to the excessive production of relic gravity waves which results in the violation of nucleosynthesis constraint. The mechanism of "Instant preheating" is quite efficient and is suitable for brane world quintessential inflation. The mode! is shown to be free from the problem of excessive production of gravity waves. The prospects of Gauss-Bonnet brane world inflation are also briefly indicated.

Avanesov S.S. THE STOIC PHILOSOPHY OF HUMAN LOT: PANTHEISM AND SUICIDE. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2013. Issue 5 (133). P. 9-16

The article analyses the relation between metaphysics and ethics in the stoic philosophy. The author shows the dependence of the theory of suicide on fundamental ideas about the nature of the cosmos. The thesis of subordination of individual existence to principles of the global process leads eventually to the adoption of self-destructive programme in the individual life. The ethics of stoicism is not able to really oppose the person to circumstances. Therefore it inevitably reduces the individual activity to meet the requirements of the “state of affairs” – until the termination of their own lives in those cases, when it is the “state of affairs” will be read by sage as the terminal prescription of natural logos.

Galanova O.A. DIALOGUE AS THE LEADING PRINCIPLE OF MODERN EDUCATION PARADIGM. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2013. Issue 13 (141). P. 161-164

The tendency of considering education as a subject to subject process inherent in the educational theory in the last decade and its gradual spread in a number of pedagogical practices make timely formulation of the principle of dialogicality as the most important for pedagogy. It is reflected in the Law on Education of the Russian Federation, which specifies that the state policy in the sphere of education is based on mutual respect and nurturing humanistic nature of education. The result of the use of the principle of dialogic identity is dialogic personality developing in a dialogic educational environment.

Tsybulko I.P. NATIONAL PEDAGOGICAL ANTHROPOLOGY AS A VECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT OF METHODS OF TEACHING THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2015. Issue 3 (156). P. 177-181

Brief Summary. The article deals with the necessity of the anthropological shift in linguistic methodology. Generalizes the results of the philosophical and anthropological foreign and domestic studies, and records those basic anthropological principles that now form the basis of pedagogical and anthropological vision of the educational process. Covers the spectrum of definitions of the object, method and objectives of educational anthropology. At the same time diagnostics of educational achievements of students should be transferred from the mere rationality to the sphere of lingual mentality where a growing person’s “experiential philosophy” is being developed. In this approach, students are active constructors of their own world, their own moral conception of the world and of man in it. Suggests one of the possible ways of scientific-theoretical and practical-technological solution to the problem of final exam in the Russian language on the basis of the lingual concept-centric pattern, when the diagnostics is shifting from pure rationality to the sphere of linguistic thought.

Wang H. CODE FUNCTION OF SOMATISMS IN RUSSIAN LYRICAL SONG. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2019. Issue 4 (201). P. 138-149

Introduction. The specificity of the somatic code of culture as one of the most ancient is described. The research interest in its verbal representation is substantiated. Aim and objectives. The purpose of the article is to reveal the discursive-genre specificity of realization of the code function of somatism in the Russian folk lyrical song. Material and methods. The analysis is based on the material of 317 texts of of the genre under study, selected from folklore collections. The research methods are determined by the specificity of folk discourse, the peculiarities of ditties and lyrical songs as folklore genres with a pronounced lyrical principle, and the genre specificity of lyrical songs. As a methodological substantiation of the research, a comparison of lyrical songs and ditties are given in the aspect of identifying features important for identifying the specifics of the implementation of the code function of somatism. Results and discussion. Quantitative analysis of somatisms in the lyrical song showed that their composition corresponds to the composition of similar units in the ditty, which is justified by the structure of the general cultural somatic code and the proximity of the compared genres. The list of high-frequency units in the lyrical song is wider, which indicates the genre specificity that distinguishes the lyrical song from the ditty in the aspect of the repertoire of broadcast emotions and feelings. The specificity of the principles of organization and content of the somatic code in the lyrical song in comparison with the ditty is illustrated by the analysis of the use of somatism hand. The assumption of a genre-conditioned orientation of the lyrical song for a more detailed than in a ditty, prescription of somatic reactions and sensations, feelings reflecting the installation to the direct description of emotions and feelings, is confirmed. Conclusion. The analysis showed that the content and principles of the somatic code organization in the lyrical song, firstly, are based on its appeal to the national values, symbolically represented in the nominations of human body parts, which is typical for the folklore discourse as a whole. Secondly, in the lyrical song, the examined code acquires genre specificity, which is most pronounced when it is compared with the ditty. As a result of their comparison, it was found that somatisms participate in the transmission of emotions and feelings, which are transmitted through the description of the somatic reactions and sensations of the characters, both in the ditty and in the lyric song. Unlike ditty, in lyrical song repertoire of emotions and feelings realized by means of somatism is wider. IMoreover, these emotions appear as more generalized - on the one hand, but described in more detail - on the other.

This layer of borrowings is of special interest in the English language as the question of systematization of borrowed words from Yiddish and their complex description has not been solved yet. The aim is to describe the structural and functional features of borrowings from the Yiddish language in the American English. Material and methods. The research material is borrowed verbs from the Yiddish language, which belong to the colloquial vocabulary (to kibitz and to schmooze). The research methods are lexicographical and contextual analysis, as well as descriptive and comparative methods. Results and discussion. The borrowed lexemes schmooze and kibitz which are elements of the lexico-semantic field «Verbal communication» have negative connotation in modern English. The analysis of vocabulary definitions and etymology has shown that the meaning of borrowed verbs in English does not coincide with the meaning of the verbs in Yiddish, as in the process of borrowing there was a gradual change in the semantics of borrowed words. The initial meaning of the verbs in Yiddish is connected with information (communication of information). The meanings of the borrowed verbs are based on the common seme «verbal influence» (hidden or obvious). The verb to schmooze has several different meanings: to talk, to manipulate, to influence, to network. The meaning of the verb to kibitz has been divided into several categories: to make ironic comments, to comment, to give intrusive and unrequested advice while watching a game, performance. The shift in the meaning of the verb to schmooze is based on the phonosemantic effect, which is produced by the sound combination schm-. The change in the meaning of the verb to kibitz can be explained by high frequency of use when it appeared in American English. Taking into account the information from academic and slang dictionaries, the exact time of appearance of the lexeme schmooze (1897) and the approximate time for the lexeme kibitz (1910-1927) has been established. Non-conformity with norms of the Yiddish language when the Yiddish borrowings are used by non-Jewish English speakers is the reason of multiple variants of spelling of borrowed words in the English language. Conclusion. The research has focused on the peculiarities of lexicography of borrowed words in academic and slang dictionaries. The results prove that it is necessary to develop an integrated approach to the description of borrowings from the Yiddish language and their description in various dictionaries.

The problem of improvement of forms of diagnostics and control of knowledge, abilities, skills, practical experience of the students of specialised secondary educational institutions under the introduction of federal state educational standards in educational practice is considered. The propaedeutic flow chart developed by authors allows to carry out stage-by-stage tracking of the concrete achievements which are trained and to determine the level of formation of common cultural and professional competences of students on all the way of development of the maintenance of a subject. Schematically this technology represents a set of four stages of didactic process from initial perception of theoretical knowledge and before their practical application. Each stage is estimated on a mark scale. The maximum number of points which the student can get on the sum of all stages makes hundred. The peculiarity of the offered development work is that it contains the level and criteria monitoring system: in a projection to the component structure of professional competences revealed by authors (cognitive, activity, motivational and valuable, communicative) to each level (from the 1st to the 3rd) achievements of results of training there corresponds the developed parameter of estimation of structure and quality of the carried-out operations, their sensibleness, completeness and curtness. Thus, the process of step formation of professional competences of students from simple to the difficult – assumes improvement of quality of educational experience.

Kalenova N.A. COGNITIVE MECHANISMS OF SEMANTIC TRANSFORMATIONS IN PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS (ON THE MATERIAL OF EPISTOLARY). Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2015. Issue 6 (159). P. 90-95

The article discusses the characteristics of cognitive mechanisms of semantic transformations in phraseological units (FU): literal interpretation, dual actualization and reinterpretation. The author analyses the particular examples of semantic transformations in FU found in the letters. The article explores general principles in functioning of cognitive mechanisms of semantic transformations in FU and their distinctive features. In the analysis of the contextual use of transformed phraseological units there are used the data of extra-linguistic category contained in the comments to letters, reference literature. The author believes that literal interpretation of FU is provided by the associative relationship with the component composition of each of FU. If cognitive mechanisms ensuring this technique does not work, it does not affect the decoding of meaning. During dual actualization lexical meanings of components of FU and phraseological meanings operate simultaneously, layering. The author focuses on the “dual” meaning of such units, achievable by this technique, and relies on the effect of this semantic technique. If the mechanism fails, some part of the coded by this method information becomes lost for recipient. Reinterpretation gives FU an occasional sense. The author of the article proves that encoding can be successful if the semantic content of FU is explained by means of surrounding context.

Introduction. Response of the system of education to the requirements of a professional standard of a teacher is constrained by the difficulties of a transitional period, caused by the lack of fundamentally new organizationalmethodical mechanism of the educational system. The analysis of scientific publications, regulatory documents connected with that problem indicates that the requirements for professional training of teachers are formed in the logic of a lifelong learning. Material and methods. To solve research problems, the methods of theoretical analysis of scientific and didactic domestic and foreign literature on the problem under study, methods of psychological, pedagogical and sociological analysis of the state and the needs for teaching staff, systematization of the process of organizing continuous pedagogical education were used. Results and discussion. On the basis of the revealed regularities and principles of formation of the system of a lifelong learning the model of a lifelong pedagogical learning has been developed and substantiated taking into account modern requirements to professional teacher’s qualifications and organizational and pedagogical conditions of its realization have been defined. The presented system of continuous pedagogical education is developing, which is a synergistic integrity of subsystems of the level of general education, vocational education and post-vocational education. Conclusion. The result of the implementation of the developed system of lifelong pedagogical education is the readiness and ability of a graduate of a pedagogical university to meet modern requirements for the professional qualifications of a teacher. The systemic effect of the realization of that model is the teachers’ need for a lifelong pedagogical learning to solve various levels of professional problems.

Olitzkaya D.A., Chertkova V.V. REPRESENTATIONS OF THE STEPPE IN ENGLISH TRANSLATIONS OF ANTON CHEKHOV’S “THE STEPPE”. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2022. Issue 6 (224). P. 132-144

Introduction. The article analyses English translations of Anton Chekhov’s The Steppe (1888), the first major work of the writer’s mature period. The central spatial landmark in the story is the steppe, whose image is of great importance for translation studies in terms of the dialectics between the national and the universal. Aim. The author aims at studying the multiple representations of the steppe in English translations in two interrelated aspects: as a nationally marked geographical space and as a “mood landscape.” Material and methods. Six English translations of The Steppe at the various stages of reception: by Adeline Kaye (1915), Constance Garnett (1919), Ronald Hingley (1980), Alex Miller (1989), Ronald Wilkes (2001), Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky (2004). The author employs a comparative approach for analysing the recurring meaningful elements (motifs) embedded in the image of the steppe (“prostor”, “dal’”, “toska”, “odinochestvo”). Results and discussion. The main spatial feature of the steppe is its infinity expressed through the motifs of “prostor” and “dal’”, which are peculiar for the perception of the steppe by native Russian speakers. The motif of “prostor” is central for Chekov’s interpretation of the steppe. “Prostor” is something that deprives people of reference points and becomes disproportionate to human aspirations. This concept most clearly manifests an indissoluble connection of the steppe infinity with the national mentality. The analysis of its English translations shows two simultaneous tendencies: while in some cases the translators specify universal components of spatial semantics (“space”, “room”), in others they seek to convey the specific properties of the Russian “prostor” through such equivalents as “spaciousness”, “wide (vast) expanse”, and “vastness.” The Russian “dal’” is mainly translated into English as “distance”. However, there is an obvious difference between “distance” and the original “dal’”: the former is more about length and directed motion, while the latter correlates with the latitude of space. The most frequent translation equivalents of “dal’” are the lexemes with the semantics of boundary (“end”, “horizon”, “limits”). The image of the steppe in Chekhov’s story demonstrates a close connection of the landscape with the characters’ state of mind. The steppe acts as a projection of people’s inner world, with its infinite vastness and endless monotony evoking all-encompassing melancholy and loneliness. These feelings become the key motifs in the image of the steppe as a “mood landscape.” Nationally and culturally determined, the motif of “toska” does not have a universal translation, producing a broad range of equivalents that shape new semantic fields for English-speaking readership. The most foregrounded concepts of grief and suffering (“to grieve”/“grief”, “misery”/“miserable”/“miserably”, “anguish” etc.) are followed by those of longing for something (“longing”, “yearning”/“yearn”), i.e. the translations primarily promote universal emotional associations. In Hingley’s translation, however, the original motif acquires a unique rendition, since the translator explicitly links melancholy with death. Similar transformations can be found in translation of the motif of loneliness. The translators mainly choose equivalents to match the emotional colouring of the original (“lonely”/“loneliness”, “solitary”/“solitariness”, “solitude”). Conclusion. Chekhov’s image of the steppe demonstrates an inextricable link between the Russian national and the writer’s pictures of the world. Since the motifs constructing the image of the steppe are deeply embedded in the national culture, their translatability into other language mentalities is limited. Various equivalents are used to adapt the image of the steppe for other cultural contexts. As a rule, the translators foreground the universal component and reduce the national specificity, adding individual accents in their renditions. At the same time, due to such an obviously inevitable cultural adaptation, the “resonance” principle of constructing the text of the story, implemented by Chekhov through the system of repetitions, was not preserved in the considered translations.
