| 3651 | The paper considers specific features of image and status of English king Edward the Confessor’s wife Edith based on “Vita Ædwardi Regis” that was written in the middle 60-s of the XI c. on the orders of Edward’s widow. Edith’s status as the queen at her husband’s court as reflected in the “Vita…” well fitted in the overall trend of late Anglo-Saxon rulers’ wives strengthening influence on state affairs. However, the key factor in Edith’s “career” and in her image interpretation by the “Vita…” was her kinship with the powerful Godwin’s clan, the English king had to reckon with. By representing herself in the “Vita…” as the ideal wife, queen, sister and daughter of the powerful Godwin family members Edith attempted at strengthening her position at the royal court after the death of king Edward, her husband. | 3652 | Study of traditional consciousness and peculiarities of popular culture bearers’ worldview on the material of textual dialect speech corpora is an urgent task of linguistic culturology and cognitive linguistics. Representative textual collections of everyday dialect speech only recently became a source of reconstruction of traditional worldview. The purpose of this work is a study of religious knowledge and ideas role and content in the worldview of dialect speakers. The analysis of religious subjects discourse fragments, picked out of a general speech flow, has shown that the religious component is a significant part of a general world picture and of popular culture bearers’ linguistic consciousness. Reflections on God, Christian saints, orthodox holidays and memorable dates of Church calendar, church services and rituals, religious writings, religious figures, trends and heterodox people, plots of Christian mythology occupy an important place in dialect speakers’ narratives. The notions of religious sphere often become the objects of dialect speakers’ reflection in their conversations with dialectologists. The religious subjects discourse fragments often contain such means expressing reflection as explanatory constructions, repetitions, periphrasis, generalizing (often evaluative) remarks, addresses to interlocutors with the purpose of checking up the degree of speech understanding, rhetoric questions. The communicative peculiarities of religious thematic fragments – increased metalinguistic reflection against a background of a feeble, in general, speech awareness of popular speech culture bearers – show that the elements of religious worldview are an important constituent part of dialect speakers’ cultural identity, occupying a central place in the popular tradition bearers’ value system. | 3653 | The interrelation and interaction of volunteer and educational organizations in the field of vocational education currently remains insufficiently studied. The analysis of the problem shows that in the process of learning students may acquire experience in professional activities in the activities of volunteer organizations if these are professionally adequate communities of practice. This type of volunteer organization can be created by the educational institution in cooperation with the social partners – the municipality, state and private organizations. Students can get professional experience by being involved in volunteer activities, especially if these activities are provided by professionally relevant communities of practice. This type of volunteer organizations can be established by an educational institution in cooperation with social partners. The aim of the research is to study the educational potential of volunteer organizations to provide vocational experience for university and college students during their studies. The paper presents an example of establishing and operating a volunteer organization for students with the aim of widening the curriculum and providing students with an opportunity for getting vocational experience. The anonymous survey method has been used for investigating the influence of students’ involvement in volunteer activities on their professional identity. Changes in students’ motivation levels have been revealed by comparing their academic performance in general educational and in special disciplines. The results of the anonymous survey showed both the positive shift in the professional identity of students participating in the activity of the volunteer organization as well as increased motivation to study vocationally relevant academic disciplines. On the basis of the obtained data, thematic groups that reflect the connotative component of the meaning of phraseological units were formed. As a result of the description of the studied thematic groups’ composition, the productive structures and characteristic semantic features of the units were identified. The semantics of phraseological units was determined on the basis of data from monolingual phraseological dictionaries. The structural composition of phraseological units is considered: phraseological unities, phraseological expressions. Data from history, linguoculturology, semiotics, folklore, etc. were used in order to obtain reliable conclusions. The graphical results of the study are shown in the figures. Conclusion. | 3665 | The paper deals with the question of formation, explication, and implication of epistemic meanings in the structure of a predicate polynomial, language means of its expression for determination the truthfulness of a statement and its value from the speaker’s point of view. The meaning of an epistemic statement is analyzed, the explicit and the implicit forms of realization the modality are determined, as well as mechanisms of the formation of epistemic senses implied in speech by the polynomial construction. The exchange of information in the communication process involves the determination of the intention of a statement, the interpretation of its motives, the ability to explicate the implicit meaning of the utterance, which, in turn, reveals the degree and nature of the interpretation that speaks of objective reality from the point of view of its conception of the object of a judgment. The analysis of the language factology confirms the importance of expanding the structure of the predicate polynomial by introducing the modal component and makes it possible to demonstrate its leading role in a number of other different-level linguistic forms of meaning within the framework of logical predicates “know-consider”. The general theoretical basis of analysis is made up of logical concepts of intentionality and truthfulness of statement. | 3683 | The following article studies phonetic and prosodic changes in mother’s speech. We consider that the situation of awaking a child preconditions these changes. We propose the role of a mother as socially relevant. Mother’s speech is an informational key to the system of a native language. Basing on Russian and the French language, we analyze qualitative and quantitative changes in consonants and vowels in lexical units of different parts of speech, as well as changes in tone and rate of mother’s utterances. We take into account such phonetic phenomena as longitude of a sound, palatalization of consonants, changes of values in tone. The changes of values in tone are illustrated by graphs. The material for analysis includes audio and video of recorded talk between mothers and their children (age from 0 to 10 months). The participants were divided into two groups: 1) Russian-speaking dyad “mother-child” (5 participants); 2) French-speaking dyad “mother-child” (4 participants). To undertake the analysis we applied computer software package for the scientific analysis of speech in phonetics called PRAAT. Resulting in setting minimal and maximal values in tone of analyzed utterances, correlation of longitude of a sound with tone and pragmatic meaning we conclude that these features of mother’s speech are universal for the situation of awaking a child. | 3692 | The article deals with an analysis of the essence and contents of students’ value-focused orientations. Value orientations in their turn determine the motivation, i.e., the external and internal incentives of human activity and reasons for concrete actions. The main values of life, which have been formed throughout the existence of mankind, are undergoing significant changes in the modern social society. The moral crisis that emerged as a new anti-social phenomenon in the late 20th century is changing the outlook of the youth, placing material gain on priority positions. The study of the value orientations of students of higher educational institutions (HEIs) in the private and state sector shows that there are no cardinal distinctions between them. In many respects it could be accounted for by the immaturity of the private sector of the educational system, on the one hand, and the inertness of young people’s value orientations, on the other hand. Nevertheless, the study revealed certain dependence of a higher motivation towards creativity in the cases of fee-paying education and a higher consistency between the students’ value orientations in the private HEIs and the market strategy of the Russian reforms. The proportion of students with a creative potential in terms of value orientation in all years of their training is found to be relatively stable and does not exceed 30%. The other students’ creativity orientations are not only developing, but are maintained until senior courses. This is particularly evident in analyzing the responses of students of the Altai State University.
