Sergeeva L.V. SOCIO-PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS OF FOREIGN STUDENTS’ ADAPTATION IN INTERCULTURAL EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 5 (182). P. 111-115

The relevance of the theme is due to the increasing internationalization and academic mobility, on the one hand and the need to solve the problems of adaptation of foreign students in the new intercultural academic environment, on the other hand. At the same time, the provisions of the «National Doctrine of Education in the Russian Federation» emphasize the intensity of the international activities of the country’s leading universities. It includes the project of increasing the international competitiveness of the best Russian universities among the world’s leading research and education centers «5-100-2020» and its main aims. Consequently, optimizing these processes, it is necessary to take into account the individual features of adaptation of students for their successful integration in the intercultural environment. However, this aspect is not sufficiently studied in the current research. Therefore, it is necessary to study the specific problems of intercultural adaptation and to develop proposals for its implementation. The purpose of the given article is to present results of the study at the Ural Federal University to specify certain academic migration problems of adaptation. Based on the results, presented preliminary findings can provide some recommendations for the partial solution of adaptation problems in the intercultural academic environment: strengthening language training, foundations of the history of the host country’s culture, increasing attention to the organization of living conditions and professional motivation.

Martseva T.A., Kobenko Y.V. THE QUESTION OF ETYMOLOGY OF LEXICAL UNIT “PARALYMPICS” IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 5 (182). P. 174-177

The article analyses etymology of the lexical unit “Paralympics” in the English language over a period of 1950–2017 years. The analyzed lexical unit initially meant sports competitions for athletes affected by paralysis but since 1950-s its meaning has undergone substantial changes due to the extended program of the Paralympic Games. The authors have identified new potential for using the productive prefix para- , which was originally a Greek preposition, to designate Paralympic events and disabled athletes, redefined the meaning of the prefix throughout the evolution of the designator (from the idea of an impairment to revealing impressive abilities of para-athletes sometimes exceeding those of able-bodied sportspeople), provided the data on distribution regulations of using the prefix in modern English language and forecast probable expansion of its intensional meaning conformable to expanding content level of the lexical unit “Paralympics” designator.

Butov A.I. CONCEPT OF MILITARY AND POLITICAL TRAINING MILITARY PERSONNEL UNDER CONTRACT // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2020. Issue 6 (212). P. 185-190

Introduction. The article substantiates the relevance of addressing the problem of political education of military personnel under contract at the present stage of development of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Aim and objectives. The purpose of this research is to substantiate the ideas that serve as the basis for the development of the concept of military-political training of military personnel under contract as a discipline. Material and methods. The material of the research is normative legal documents on the organization of political education in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as well as materials of pedagogical research devoted to the development of concepts of educational disciplines in General and their content in particular. The analysis of these materials allowed us to formulate the main ideas of the concept of military-political training of military personnel under contract as a new academic discipline in the political education of military personnel, the organization of the process of its development. The concept reflects the conditionality of the political consciousness of military personnel under contract by the nature of their military professional activities, the form of participation in the system of relations inherent in their professional group. The research is based on the theoretical provisions of the activity approach to the construction of pedagogical processes, the subject-subject paradigm of building pedagogical interaction in professional teams, and the competence approach to the selection of the content of professional training. Results and discussion. According to the developed concept, the purpose of military-political training of military personnel under contract as a discipline is to form the military personnel’s competencies necessary to perform professional tasks with political content; subjective images (personal meanings, meanings and relationships) that form the cognitive basis of the political consciousness of military personnel. The concept assumes active inclusion of military personnel in the system of public relations and phenomena of state military policy. The selection of material is based on the General purpose of training a specialist, the system of cognitive goals and opportunities of the discipline. Carried out conceptualization focuses on the need for leading, core concepts (ideas) in the course content; definition of the basic (invariant) core and variant parts of the content of the training modules, to correlate this material with the level of cognitive activity of students; allocation of consolidated problems of professionally-oriented nature, the resolution of which requires knowledge and skills in the academic discipline; select content and determine the scope of a training module, selection of methods of cognitive activity. The use of «content nodes» of educational material (conceptual, worldview, subject-image, activity) allows us to specify the control and evaluation system aimed at checking the formation of military personnel’s competencies under the contract in solving a set of educational and professional tasks. Conclusion. The developed concept serves as an indicative basis for solving the problems of developing the political consciousness of a military serviceman under a contract. The results of the research allow us to clarify the ways and means of forming the political consciousness of conscripts during the period of changing ideological priorities in professional education and training of military personnel.

Korytova A.I., Korytova G.S. LITERARY ABILITY: HISTORY OF STUDY AND STRUCTURAL PHENOMENOLOGICAL FOUNDATION // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2018. Issue 8 (197). P. 196-204

In the article we identify the most important milestones in the history of the study of literary ability. Further, we present the points of view of both international and Russian authors, which reflect scientific approaches to studying phenomenology and structure of literary abilities. Literary ability is defined as a set of special abilities that enable to implement creative literary activities successfully. We show that the literary ability is a complex psychological construct, which covers various sides of a writer’s personality. Biographical, analytical and experimental research of various authors convincingly demonstrated ambiguity, broad variability of components of literary ability and their structural differences. Definite individual structure of literary ability is specific for creative individuality. The structure depends on the availability of components and the degree of their development. Components of literary and creative abilities are a complex mental construct which performs as effect of generalizing intellectual activity. The activity preforms by means of language and is formed during the literary creative activity. The personal characteristics of the subject and individual psychological characteristics of mental processes do not determine the presence or absence of literary ability. The characteristics are the structural components of literary ability.

Tsepilova A.V. INTEGRATED FOREIGN-LANGUAGE PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE AS A PART OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE OF A MODERN ENGINEER // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 1 (178). P. 87-92

The article discusses the problem of integrating separate competencies of a modern engineer into a coherent system, which is regarded as professional competence. A literature review shows that there exist different definitions of this notion and different competences are included in its structure. The role of the foreign language professional communicative competence in this system has been determined. The author suggests that the foreign language professional communicative competence of an engineer should be regarded as a complicated integrative concept including professional and communicative skills. Professional competence is described as an integral part of the foreign language communicative competence of an engineer because professional communication is hardly possible without professional knowledge and skills. Therefore, it should be formed together with linguistic, sociocultural, strategic and discourse competences. The idea of the present article is that professional competence of an engineer manifests itself in the process of communication through these competences. The distribution of professional skills over traditional constituents of foreign language communicative competence is presented.
