| 3002 | The article presents an analysis of the linguistic means of expression of semantics of mental and physical states and their functional load in the stories by L. S. Petrushevskaya. In the process of representation of the studied semantics the traditional two-component models (the predicate and the carrier of the state) are characteristic of the syntactic level, on the semantic level attention focuses on the degree of intensity and depression. The simplicity of language means of expression is one of the key characteristics of creative works by L. S. Petrushevskaya. Conversational vocabulary, abundant urban slang, simple sentences, short gloomy phrases of the characters create a special artistic world of the author. In characters’ feelings expression there are no middle, neutral, «etiquette» of emotions, there is always felt anguish and emotional intensity: loved, wept, hard, etc. Hate is expressed indirectly, through the prism of despair and powerlessness. An analysis of the semantics of language means of expression in L. S. Petrushevskaya’s stories states the evidence of their artistic significance in the process of describing characters’ images. Laconic and simple shapes clearly highlight the depth of the feelings and experiences of the characters, the description of the emotional, physical and mental state generates a representation of the inner world of the characters, their perception of reality. | 3003 | The article examines the issue of reception and comprehension of Italian nature in the journey diaries and letters of S. P. Shevyrev, the author belonging to the group of the Lubomudry. Italy was an important part of Shevyrev’s life and creativity, therefore it became a particular imagological phenomenon in his texts. As a significant component of the image of Italy, nature expresses some features of the country in general and interacts with other aspects of its image: historical, aesthetical (for example, Italian literature and pictorial art), social ones. From the point of view of the Russian traveler, the national character of the Italians (their sincere belief in God, sense of beauty, carelessness) depends on the soft climate and picturesque landscapes. Texts created by Vergil, Petrarch, Tasso, Ariosto reflect Italian nature, and images of these authors are tied with it in Shevyrev’s creativity. Nature was highly important for the intensive development of Italy in the Roman Empire and the Renaissance epochs, which is obvious in Shevyrev’s diaries and letters. Besides, Italian nature (images of the Vesuvius, the island Ischia, the sea, etc.) is associated with ontological senses and remains the ideal of beauty and harmony. In Shevyrev’s diaries and letters, traditional romantic interpretation of Italy as of a cultural myth, an earthly paradise coexists with individual comprehension and philosophical accents. These features correspond to the specificity of the cultural dialogue between Russia and Italy in the creativity of the Lubomudry. | 3004 | Introduction. A characteristic feature of modern linguistics is the study of language as a means of not only communication, but also the expression of human mental activity, giving access to his consciousness. Cognitive linguistics postulates the idea that language forms reflect all cognitive processes, one of which is the human perception of the world. The aim of the article is to identify the reflection of the peculiarities of perception in phraseological units of the modern English language. Material and methods. The work is carried out within the framework of cognitive linguistics based on a single cognitive methodology for the study of language structures. General and particular methods of cognition are used in the research, such as inductive-deductive method, the method of quantitative calculation and classification, the method of structural and semantic analysis of phraseological units and the method of conceptual analysis. The complex use of these methods allows to look at the theoretical aspects of phraseology from the point of view of the cognitive paradigm of knowledge. Results and discussion. The concept of perception as a cognitive process is defined. It is noted that different types of perception (vision, hearing, touch, smell, taste) are indicated in the English stable expressions by the verbs of sensory perception and the names of the corresponding senses. The article describes the reflection in phraseological units of the English language of such properties of perception as integrity, objectivity, meaningfulness, dependence on the personality of the perceiver, etc. It is confirmed that the perceived is subjected to further cognitive processing, manifested both in the language as a whole and in its phraseological system, in particular. The analysis of phraseological units formed on the basis of metaphorical and / or metonymic transference confirms the associative nature of human thinking. It is proved that the necessary intermediate link between perception and phraseological meaning is human experience. The study allows to understand better the nature of the relationship between cognition and the phraseological system of language, which can serve as a prerequisite for the creation of a separate branch in the science of language – cognitive phraseology, integrating the achievements of cognitive science and phraseology. Conclusion. The presented language material can be used in the practice of teaching English, and also included in the theoretical and practical courses in general linguistics, cognitive linguistics, lexicology and phraseology of the English language. Keywords: cognition, the process of perception, human experience, metaphor, metonymy, phraseological units of the English language, phraseological meaning | 2005 | |||||
| 3005 | Introduction. The purpose of this research is to develop the concept of a dictionary of gender-marked vocabulary, which reflects the concepts of male and female in the Middle Ob region dialects. The study is novel in that it shows the creation of a dictionary that reflects the male and female spheres in their complex sociocultural interaction and regional specifics for the first time in Russian lexicography. The dictionary includes dynamic parameters of gender vocabulary, and as a result their informative capabilities are expanded. The applicabiliry of creating a dictionary of gender-marked vocabulary is coming from the nesessity to form a source study base for studying Siberia as a structure of steadfast development. At the same time, it can be used to identify factors contributing to the preservation of the traditional Siberian culture. Material and methods. Autobiographical texts recorded from 1946 to 2016 on the territory of century-old traditional dialects distribution in the Middle Ob region are used as the source. The study is carried out using the lexicographical method, the advantage of which is that one can study in detail the objects of lexicography, as well as their features and functioning in the language. Results and discussion. The dictionary includes gender lexical units that are part of the gender conceptual sphere. The dictionary includes both direct nominations of concepts (the core of the nominative field) and the nominations of individual cognitive features of a concept (periphery of the nominative field). The dictionary is formed according to the thematic principle and contains the following groups of gender-marked vocabulary: general denomination of a person depending on gender; nominations indicating age and marital status; units reflecting family hierarchy status; denominations representing biological features that are specific only to a certain gender individuals; nominations reflecting traits of character, appearance; ones that call men and women by professional activities, labor processes; ceremonial words; nominations, characterizing the female and male spheres. The structure of the dictionary entry consists of three main parts: headword part, interpretation part of the capital lexical unit, illustrative part. Conclusion. The dictionary supplements the multifaceted description of the Middle Ob dialects. At the same time, it contributes to the new aspects’ identification in gender analysis. The concept of the dictionary is based on the theoretical provisions of gender dialectology and dialect lexicography. All components of a dictionary entry (headword, definitions, notes, illustrative material) reflect the richness of folk speech, testify to a more fragmented division of the world, carried out on other grounds than in the literary language, and reflecting the specifics of rural society and traditional culture. | 3010 | The problem of correlation between professional development and maturity of a specialist is, first of all, the problem of the objectives and priorities of education to give knowledge or develop a personality (a system of values, mental and moral characteristics) who acquires knowledge. In the first case the process easily regulated and controlled, in the second case improvisation, creativity and unpredictability of results is prevailed. Professionalism doesn’t contradict with the intellectual development of a specialist but it doesn’t equal to it as well. Professionalism and spirituality lie in the context of a human integrity. Today, along with the dominating practical orientation of education towards specialist training and increasing of profitability of resources invested in their training, the acmeological (eco-psychological) approach to education in the ‘and-and’ context rather than ‘or-or’ when professional training is regarded as the process of personal education who develops the ability to act in the chosen direction and who acquires knowledge that a man considers necessary for him. | 3023 | The paper focuses on the images of Anglo-Saxon queens in the works of biographers and church writers of the 8th – 9th century England. Based on Asser’s Life of King Alfred, Life of St Wilfred of York and Ecclesiastical history of the English people it is shown that historical portraits of Anglo-Saxon rulers’ wives have their specificity depending on the genre, the author’s objectives and attitudes to women in power. Early Anglo-Saxon queens enjoyed high social status, participated in worldly and church affairs. Precedents of rivalry between queens and people within the king’s circle are discussed. Tradition and personal support of the king are identified as the sources of queen’s power. Queens influenced the rulers’ policy by means of their council, that Christian writers associated with the Fall. Not coincidentally, in the early Anglo-Saxon narrative evil queens always use their husbands, intriguing against nobles and hierarchs. Nevertheless, both secular and clerical attitudes to queens’ power were rather complex. On the one hand, their political activity caused concern. On the other, queens patronizing the Church were held in high esteem by ecclesiastical authors. Downgrading of the king’s wife’s position in the 9th century Wessex should be considered a matter of historical accident rather than conformity to historical patterns. | 3024 | Introduction. Modern interdisciplinary research proves the deep psychological motivation of a significant place of animated films in modern culture, and the noticeable displacement of book culture by visual images. Children from an early age begin to watch cartoons, which have a significant influence on the formation of their perception of the world, their vocabulary and thesaurus. They are among the precedent texts presented in the thesaurus of the modern linguistic personality. Aim and objectives. The aim of the research is to reveal the nominations of cartoon characters as a part of the intertextual thesaurus of the linguistic personality. Material and methods. The study of precedent phenomena associated with cartoons, suggests an address to a variety of texts with reproducibility of these language units, to results of associative experiments and to dictionaries. The main material of the article is the data of six associative dictionaries, which represent fragments of the verbal memory reflected in the consciousness of the “average” native speaker. In their totality, they allow to reconstruct a fragment of intertextual thesaurus of the Russian linguistic personality in its dynamics. The contextual analysis enables to confirm the place of precedent phenomena related to cartoons in the associative thesaurus of personality. Results and discussion. The analysis of associative dictionaries shows that the names of cartoon characters for children are not only a significant part of the child’s thesaurus, but also remain relevant in the adult thesaurus, and cartoons, based on literary, in the thesaurus of the modern linguistic personality are more important than the books themselves. The fact that cartoon characters are part of the intertextual thesaurus, which is widely used in speech, is evidenced by numerous examples from the National corpus of the Russian language and works of modern fiction. Conclusion. The data of associative experiments and numerous cases of reference to cartoons as sources of intertextual inclusions convince that the works of this genre of cinema remain in the memory of the linguistic personality for a long time. They give evidence for the fixedness of the names of the characters from the cartoons in the associative-verbal network. | 3025 | Introduction. The author analyzes the concepts of «condition» and «pedagogical conditions», identifies and justifies the pedagogical conditions for the education of civil qualities of adolescents by means of the GFSK GTO, taking into account the selected components of civil qualities of adolescents. | 3037 | The heterogeneity of the category of possessiveness conditioned the emergence of different points of view on its structure. There is a vision of the category of possessiveness as a binary opposition. According to the semantics of the name of the possessor, his person, animacy, the degree of his concreteness or abstractness, and the semantics of the object of possession, many linguists distinguish such oppositions as alienable/unalienable appurtenance, internal/external possession, temporary/permanent possessiveness, absolute/relative appurtenance, actual/virtual possession, legal/somatic appurtenance. In the context of the gradual opposition possessive relations can be represented in the form of absolute/relative appurtenance, inalienable appurtenance, relatively inalienable possession, occasionally inalienable and properly alienable appurtenance. According to another interpretation, the object can be inalienable, semi-alienable and alienable. Onomasiological approach proponents describe the possessiveness using as a basis the extra linguistic reality: they describe eventual types of possessors, potential types of objects of possession, try to anticipate their potential relationship.
