Kuchina S.A. ELECTRONIC GENERATIVE FICTIONAL TEXTS: LEXICAL, STYLISTIC AND STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 6 (183). P. 49-55

The article deals with the questions of typology and analysis of electronic fiction text program algorithms. The author pays special attention to the description of the algorithmic principles of generating poetic texts, based on strophic organization, poetic size, algorithmic syntax, and matrix of phrases. The electronic algorithmic generators and generative poems on their basis are the first types of electronic fiction. The novelty of the research is seen in the attempt to understand the program algorithms to generate a literary text not only as a method of text creation, but also as a substantive artistic expression, where the code is regarded as a meaning that needs no verbal accompaniment. The electronic literary text is a complex polycode art object which unites text, image, sound, graphics and animation elements with sense-making functions in its structure. The research urgency is caused by the complex analytic model for generative fictional texts of different types (algorithmic and code). The article gives an overview of generative poetic texts, represented by the works by M. Benabou, P. Braffort and J. Z. Piwkowski. The author presents the classification of electronic poetic texts, divides them into two types: permutational (using rearrangement of elements for the new text generated poems) and combinatorics (using syntactical templates and matrix of phrases). The combinatorics electronic generative poems have rigid grammar structure that optimizes the parameters of generated poetic texts. All permutational electronic generative poems are very close to the tradition and theoretical issues of QULIPO restrictions in the sphere of language and art.

Sergeeva L.V. SOCIO-PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS OF FOREIGN STUDENTS’ ADAPTATION IN INTERCULTURAL EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 5 (182). P. 111-115

The relevance of the theme is due to the increasing internationalization and academic mobility, on the one hand and the need to solve the problems of adaptation of foreign students in the new intercultural academic environment, on the other hand. At the same time, the provisions of the «National Doctrine of Education in the Russian Federation» emphasize the intensity of the international activities of the country’s leading universities. It includes the project of increasing the international competitiveness of the best Russian universities among the world’s leading research and education centers «5-100-2020» and its main aims. Consequently, optimizing these processes, it is necessary to take into account the individual features of adaptation of students for their successful integration in the intercultural environment. However, this aspect is not sufficiently studied in the current research. Therefore, it is necessary to study the specific problems of intercultural adaptation and to develop proposals for its implementation. The purpose of the given article is to present results of the study at the Ural Federal University to specify certain academic migration problems of adaptation. Based on the results, presented preliminary findings can provide some recommendations for the partial solution of adaptation problems in the intercultural academic environment: strengthening language training, foundations of the history of the host country’s culture, increasing attention to the organization of living conditions and professional motivation.

Popovich E.S. ACTUAL TYPES OF NEOLOGISMS IN MODERN ENGLISH SOCIAL-POLITICAL TEXTS // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2020. Issue 5 (211). P. 127-132

Introduction. This article considers lexical and semantic neologisms in socio-political texts and their semantic subgroups. The theoretical and practical significance of the research is presented. The purpose of the article is to analyze neologisms in socio-political texts, divide them into groups and subgroups; define the most widespread methods of neologisms formation in English. Material and methods. The research material was taken from American and British magazines and information sites: CNN, The Guardian, the Daily Beast, the Washington Post, NBC News, Chicago Tribune, The Independent, Forbes, the Sun, Spectator, NY Post. Results and discussion. The current types of neologisms in modern socio-political texts (lexical and semantic neologisms) are defined. Lexical neologisms are completely new words that were not used earlier in the language. Semantic neologisms are those words that previously existed in the language, but which have acquired new semes. They serve various stylistic purposes and their use depends on the functional style of speech and context. The analysis of practical examples reflects the relationship between these two types of neologisms. The most frequent group is lexical neologisms. Of the 60 identified neologisms, 76.6 % (46 lexical units) belonged to the first group and only 23.4% (14 lexical units) to the second. In the sphere of socio-political texts, 4 semantic subgroups are identified, in which lexical neologisms are most often used. The subgroup “Political relations” includes 16 neologisms, “Public relations” – 15, “Personal life and human life” – 12 neologisms, and the smallest number of neologisms found belongs to the group “Internet and technology” – only 3 analyzed neologisms. Neologisms of the second group can be attributed to gender neologisms, that is, reflecting the increased interest in gender studies, feminism and gender equality in recent years. Conclusion. Lexical neologisms predominate over semantic ones in socio-political texts (76.6 and 23.4 %, respectively), however, semantic neologisms predominate in socio-political texts. The main method of forming lexical neologisms is productive word-formation models (prefixal and suffixal methods). Lexical neologisms in the analyzed texts can be divided into 4 subgroups: “Political relations”, “Social relations/ ecology”, “Internet and technology”, “Personal life and everyday life of a person”. Most often, neologisms are used in the first and second subgroups.

The system of word-formation of color names, characteristic for the languages under consideration, is a set of nominative units that are diverse in terms of structure. The subject of research is achromatic color vocabulary in the Kazakh, Altai and Russian languages. The aim of the work is to consider the methods of word formation of color terms in the Kazakh, Altai and Russian languages and to determine the general and specific features of word formation. For the first time, a comparative analysis of the derivation of color terms in the Kazakh, Altai and Russian languages was carried out. Among the methods of research is a comparative one. Results and discussion. The lexico-semantic field of color has a high degree of organization. Although color terms belong to different parts of speech, adjectives belong to the most significant group. The main emphasis is on the grammatical features of adjectives in Kazakh, Altaic and Russian. Color adjectives of the analyzed languages belong to the group of qualitative adjectives perceived by the senses, from which a comparative degree is formed. Morphological way of word formation is the basic one in the formation of color designation and color names in the Kazakh, Altai and Russian languages. This formed a whole series of parametric values of the sufficiency or insufficiency of color, the degree of intensity and color saturation (high or low), the gradation of signs. The morphological way of word-formation of color descriptions involves the formation of color terms with the help of derivational affixes. This way of forming adjectives is most productive in the languages. It is the most prospective and dominant way of word-production of color adjectives. Other methods of word formation are considered; they are composing, partial or complete reduplication, the use of qualifiers, pair words, and comparative constructions with color components. Color designation comparisons were revealed similarity and difference in Kazakh, Altaic and Russian languages. Conclusion. The word-formative analysis of color adjectives make it possible to conclude that the Kazakh, Altaic and Russian languages have a fairly extensive word-formation potential in terms of the possibility of expanding and enriching the lexico-semantic group of color-values.

The article examines teaching methods aimed at developing students’ intercultural communicative competence whilst studying interpretation using collaborative activity pedagogy developed by G. N. Prozumentova. A special attention is paid to description of three collaborative activity organization models (authoritative, leadership, partnership). Authoritative model corresponds to closed collaborative activity which depends solely on the educator without any go-aheadedness of the learner; leadership model corresponds to “adressed” collaborative activity which implies a certain dialog between the educator and the learner, thus a certain independence of the learner; partnership model is associated with open collaborative activity involving a full-scale dialog between two equal partners - the learner and the educator. The partnership model is presumed as the most effective way of forming students’ intercultural communicative competence since it allows the partners to develop their own meanings, to grow personally and to encourage mutual personal enrichment. The educational experiment designed to develop intercultural communicative competence included different types of translation and interpretation exercices. These learning tasks were classified as either reproductive, constructive or creative which corresponds to three collaborative activity model types. The research has proved that the co-organisation of all three models with an emphasis laid to open (partnership) model has found to be the most effective way of developing students’ intercultural communicative competence as well as their interpretation skills.

Introduction. The syntax of the Selkup language has long remained a “white spot” on the linguistic map of the Samoyed linguistics. Phonology, morphology and vocabulary of Selkup dialects have repeatedly been the subject of scientific researches by representatives of various scientific linguistic schools. Much fewer scientific works are devoted to research of the syntactic features of the Selkup language, and most of this small number are based on material from the Northern dialects, while the Central and Southern dialects of the Selkup language have long remained out of the view of linguists. These factors make the study relevant. Material and methods. The material of the study are 30 four-line racy folk rhymes in the Narym dialect of the Selkup language. The main methods of the research are popular scientific (analysis, synthesis, generalization) and specific scientific (linguistic) methods: comparative, descriptive, method of immediate constituent analysis. Results and discussions. A brief overview of the syntax studies of different dialects of the Selkup language is presented, structural analysis of the texts of the four-line racy folk rhymes of the Narym Selkups is carried out, word order is analyzed, repetition as one of the main folklore techniques is considered. In terms of structure, 60.9 % of the sentences analyzed are two-part sentences, 39.1 % are one-part sentences. The most frequent word order in two-part sentences is SVO (16.66 %), in the second place is SOV (7 %), in the third - OSV (4.7 %); there are very few sentences with word order OVS (2.38 %). The most frequent repetitions revealed in the study are concentrating repetitions. Conclusion. A four-line racy folk rhyme as a special folklore genre borrowed from the Russians became widespread among the Narym Selkups. This genre is expected to have rhyme and influences the structural and syntactic organization of the sentence. Repetitions serve the function of structural organization of the text of a fourline racy folk rhyme, highlighting the most significant content components, and are less involved in its syntactic organization.

Podkina Y.V. FEATURES OF THE LITERARY VOCABULARY USE IN NEWSPAPER TEXTS ON THE ECONOMIC THEME // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2019. Issue 2 (199). P. 56-62

Aim and objectives. This issue is relevant for modern print journalism, which publishes materials on the economic theme. Since the book vocabulary is an effective means of expression and a tool for the implementation of the author’s plan, the use of book words in such texts goes far beyond highly specialized terminology. Among this kind of vocabulary can be called terms from other areas of scientific knowledge, used mainly in a figurative sense, outdated and old vocabulary, words of poetic speech, etc. The aim of the work is to consider the main functions of the book vocabulary in the journalistic economic text, as well as to identify the main tasks that it performs in publications on the economic theme. Material and methods. The work is done mainly by the method of comparative analysis of the language means of journalistic texts on the economic theme of the daily newspaper “Moskovsky Komsomolets” and the business newspaper “RBK”, because they cover important economic topics, publish materials in different genres and present readers with different points of view. Results. The first of these tasks, which performs book vocabulary in the text of economic publication, is the transfer of the author’s assessment, the journalist’s attitude to the subject of speech. In addition, book words can be a means of creating irony. The second task is explained by the desire of the author of the published material to draw the reader’s attention to the text as a whole or to individual problems addressed in it. To do this, journalists often resort to noneconomic terms used in a figurative sense, and to Patriotic vocabulary, inscribing it in a variety of contexts. Note that book words can become a kind of stylistic frame of the text. Conclusion. According to the results of the work, it is concluded that book vocabulary is one of the most effective tools of journalistic creativity. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that at the moment there are no scientific papers on the use of language tools in the texts of economic journalism. The results obtained in the course of the work can be used to train future journalists.
