Stas A.N., Kartashov D.V. BUILDING A TRAINING TECHNIQUE (BASED ON THE ALGORITHM OF VERIFICATION OF THE INCONSISTENCY OF THE SET OF DISJUNCTORS) // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 12 (189). P. 184-187

The use of knowledge-based algorithms is one of the most relevant directions. Often these algorithms are referred to as intelligent. It is accepted to distinguish four main classes of such models: logical, productional, frame-based, and network. As we know, the use of any given models is driven by the tasks in hand. From this perspective, logical models have gained momentum. In particular, these models are often used in the creation of expert systems and the automation of proofs of theorems. This article discusses how to implement the validation algorithm for multiple disjuncts. An automatic grammar is used to describe the language of presenting the disjuncts, a resolution method to check their inconsistencies, and a depthfirst search to automate the OL-denial strategy. This algorithm can be used to automatically check provability or indefeasibility of theorems based on many axioms. The step-by-step detalization of this algorithm can be used as an additional tool for teaching the resolution method and searching the state space as well as the basics of the formal languages. The type of going around state space depends on the order of the points in the list OPEN. When searching in the first point’s depth to open it you select the point that is most remote from the intentional one. In this case, you can simplify the implementation of this method by applying a recursive subprogram.

Keywords: disjunct, resolution method, OL-denial strategy, finite-state grammar, depthfirst search

Khadynskaya A.A. PETERSBURG OF IVAN ELAGIN // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2020. Issue 3 (209). P. 45-52

Introduction. The article considers the image of St. Petersburg in the lyrics of Ivan Elagin, one of the prominent representatives of the second wave of emigration. The objectives of the study are: to trace the development of the image in its evolution, to fix the “common places” of St. Petersburg poetics, at the same time to note the author’s personal contribution to the development of the theme in conditions of emigration. Material and methods. The research methodology involves the interpretation of poetic texts based on theoretical and literary concepts (acmeism, literary tradition, poetry of the diaspora and the metropolis, etc.). Results and discussion. The image of St. Petersburg in the literature of the Russian abroad has repeatedly become the subject of scientific research, but the lyrics of Ivan Elagin have not yet attracted the close attention of literary scholars in interpreting the theme of St. Petersburg from acmeistic positions. We considered a number of his poems as a vivid example of following the precepts of acmeism in conditions of emigration, although the avant-garde element is no less important in the lyrics of Elagin. But in the image of the city on the Neva, the poet deliberately focuses on the poetics of acmeism, as evidenced by numerous allusions and thematic exchanges with senior acmeists – N. Gumilev, A. Akhmatova, O. Mandelstam. Conclusion. The lyrical embodiment of the image of St. Petersburg by Ivan Elagin is dictated by his acmeistic orientation and the desire to write his name in a line of his own poetic acmeist teachers. St. Petersburg of Ivan Elagin actualizes the general settings for the “St. Petersburg text”, but, in addition, demonstrates the emigrant specificity in interpreting the image of Northern Palmyra. The dominant feature of the image is its mortality, striving for “beyond”, the reflection in it of existential longing and nostalgia – the eternal “companions” of the exiled poet.

Keywords: Ivan Elagin, poetry of Russian emigration of the second wave, “St. Petersburg text”, allusion, acmeistic traditions, the theme of death

Moskalenko O.A. “BLESSED INNOCENCE”: A SMALL MAN CHARACTER IN THE MODERN BRITISH LITERATURE // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2020. Issue 3 (209). P. 86-95

Introduction. In the modern novel “The Senility of Vladimir P” a typical image of a “small man” is created and the myth of Russia as a multi-layered system of stereotypes recognizable by the Western recipient is constructed. The purpose of the study is to characterize the stereotypical image of the Russian “small man” in the modern British novel and to determine its functions in the meta-myth of Russia. Material and methods. The methodology of comparative studies, in particular, imagology is used as its the interdisciplinary nature allows one to study the image of the “Other” in the social, cultural and literary consciousness of another country at intertextual, contextual and textual levels upon the concept of stereotypes (according to J. Leerssen). “The Senility of Vladimir P” by M. Honig is a material for research. Results and discussion. Under a scandalous headline, the author offers us a story about life in Russia through the prism of the theme of “small man”. The main character, Nikolay Sheremetyev, is not inclined to reflection until the situation of loss appears and his beloved nephew is arrested. From this moment on, the narrative is gaining momentum, the main character is changing: reality acquires more and more grotesque features, and reader witnesses painful transformation of Sheremetyev, the “small man”, the last honest person in Russia, who makes a deal with his conscience and begins to act within the framework of English-Saxon tradition. The image of the “Other” is presented by Honig precisely from the perspective of the Anglo-Saxon tradition in which all the other characters are actually written out: Russians only by entourage and consistent with the Western stereotype, but infected with Western individualism. The characters of the novel are classified by type depending on the model of behavior and prototype. Conclusion. M. Honig builds a grotesque, absurd image of Russia in the middle of the XXI century. Ethnotype characters act in conditional situations without author pretending to psychologize the image and reveal characters, because they must create the most complete, comprehensive picture of Russian reality, reflect Russian national features as they fit into the British myth of Russia that is familiar to the British. Honig constructs the ethnotype of Russian citizens of the mid-XXIst century from 1) the image of a small man (Nikolai Sheremetyev), traditional for Russian literature; 2) the media image of Russian elite formed mainly by Western media and Russian liberal media; 3) an exaggerated and schematic image of a typical Russian, featured in Western cinema of the late twentieth century. Before us there is a conflict not only of different attitudes, but the opposition of the Russian and English (more broadly Anglo- Saxon) worlds at the cultural and civilizational level. Honig’s novel is an example of secondary actualization, when a fiction text constructed under the influence of the media begins to be perceived as a non-fiction model, becoming a kind of simulacrum of reality.

Chernikova I.V., Khudyakov D.S. Knowledge in a Postnonclassical Science and Its Social Value // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2006. Issue 12 (63). P. 26-30

The question “What does it mean to know?” is becoming extremely important for modern philosophy. In the article the knowledge is analyzed as a product of postnonclassycal science. It studies the question how the nature of the knowledge changes in connection with the development of the new postnonclassycal paradigm of science. What means to know when we are talking about cognition of complex selfdeveloping systems, including a man, that is the object of postnonclassycal science. The peculiarities of social and cultural being on the whole and specific character of the modern stage of scientific dynamics influence the transformation of knowledge. The knowledge in postnonclassycal science entails not the absoute truth, but the social importance.

In virgin and residual (1 m) peat under permanent cereal grasses of reclamated site of lowland bog ecosystem activity of catalase was defined in 1993, 2002 and 2008 in dynamics. It is shown, that activity of this enzyme is defined by local meteoconditions, peat temperature, level of swamp waters, presence of nutrients (in the form of mineral fertilizers). The reclamation of the developed site (since 1986) has not caused essential increase of fermentative activity in all terms of researches, only in 2008 the tendency to its increase was teethed. The soil of a virgin fallow and soil of experiment site are characterized by comparable sizes of activity of catalase, possibly because residual peat is the lowermost horizon of before not drained virgin soil.

This paper presents the analysis of the metaphorical models of the concept of fact from the perspective of Cognitive Linguistics. More specifically, we attempt to show how Lakoff’s theory of conceptual metaphor can help us refine an unclear deem nature of the concept of fact in Modern English, which can accrue from the frequent occurrence of conventionalized metaphorical expressions about fact in everyday language. Thus, metaphor is understood as a partial mapping between conceptual domains of experience, a source domain and a target domain. In this way, we intend to make this interesting construct more useful and cognitively plausible instrument for our linguistic analysis.

Following our recent results [P. Yu. Moshin, A. A. Reshetnyak, Nucl. Phys. B 888 (2014) 92], we discuss the notion of finite BRST-antiBRST transformations, with a doublet λa, a = 1, 2, of anticommuting (both global and field-dependent) Grassmann parameters. We find an explicit Jacobian corresponding to this change of variables in the theories with gauge group. Special field-dependent BRST-antiBRST transformations for the Yang-Mills path integral with sa-potential (functionally-dependent) parameters λa = saΛ generated by a finite even-valued functional Λ and the anticommuting generators sa of BRST-antiBRST transformations, amount to a precise change of the gauge-fixing functional. This proves the independence of the vacuum functional under such BRST-antiBRST transformations and leads to presence of modified Ward identities. The form of transformation parameters that induces a change of the gauge in the path integral is found and is exactly evaluated for connecting two arbitrary Rξ-like gauges. The finite field-dependent BRST-antiBRST transformations are used to generalize the Gribov horizon functional h0, in the Landau gauge in BRST-antiBRST setting, in the Gribov– Zwanziger model and to find hξ corresponding to general Rξ-like gauges in the form compatible with gauge-independent S-matrix.

Velichko M.A. INFORMATIVE CONGESTION AS A NECESSARY CONDITION FOR A SUCCESSFUL LINGUISTIC MANIPULATION IN ADVERTISING DISCOURSE // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 3 (180). P. 9-13

The article considers the key features of communication as a tool of linguistic manipulation in advertising discourse. The aim of this study is to investigate the technologies of creating perlocutionary effect in American advertising communication. At the stage of the interpretation the vast majority of American advertising works consisting of few words are transformed into informative and pragmatic semiotic texts. Nowadays the US advertising shows a big variety of products with different degrees of verbal congestion. As a part of this study we have found a lot of advertising samples which include the minimum amount of verbal text: only the name brand or trade mark and single-phrase slogan. It should be noted that even the most minimum quantity of speech act expressed by the well-known and popular person lead to the greater intensity and immensity of its significance. Having analyzed the fragments of advertising texts we conclude that the informative congestion of communication is fundamental to its ability to persuade with the only proviso that by congestion we mean not the number of language units but the amount of their information content. The findings of the integrated and comprehensive study of the informative congestion of discourse and text can be used in pragmalinguistics, text linguistics, functional linguistics, theory of intercultural communication.

The article presents a theoretical analysis of the literature on the problem of studying of pedagogical conditions of adaptation of children in institutions of additional education, which allowed us to determine the key concepts of the study: «additional education», «organization of additional education», «structure adaptation», «conditions», «pedagogical conditions». Identified the relevance and importance of additional education in the adaptation of children of preschool age. Disclosed components of the adaptation of children of this age: personal (self-esteem, confidence, emotional well-being), communication (ability to listen, to empathize, to assess themselves and others, to work in a group of peers, to communicate with seniors, to help others, to explain and prove their own opinion, activity (motivation, activity, curiosity), cognitive (basic beliefs about themselves, about other people and the world, elementary grammar, elementary mathematical representations) components. Justified pedagogical conditions of adaptation of preschool children in the organizations of additional education (the creation of the developing environment: spatial, educational, developmental, subjective; the organization of pedagogical support of adaptation of children, involving the implementation of phases: diagnostic, search, advisory-projective, active, reflective stages; interaction of subjects of education, defined as a joint activity of specialists, teachers, parents, aimed at enabling the child to the environment of supplementary education organizations; individual and differentiated approach to children, determining individual help to each child, taking into account his features and abilities in different situations in the learning process, as well as work in the group of children in which through the selection of content, forms, methods, rates and norms of education are optimal conditions for studying of each child).

Bagiyan A.Y., Nersesyan G.R. PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS AS PRAGMA-AXIOLOGICAL MODELLING ELEMENT OF THE ENGLISH BUSINESS DISCOURSE // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2018. Issue 7 (196). P. 33-37

The relevance of the current research is defined by the increasing role of business communication and fixation of the sphere of business and finance as the predominating links in the development of modern society. In view of the initial orientation on increase in its target audience and formation of the relation necessary for business to his activity, business discourse in modern information space shows the most democratic verbal character, undergoing processes of deconventionalisation and deregimentation and getting closer to colloquial functional style on a number of characteristics. The aim of the conducted research is the development of the authors’ own classification of notions of evaluation expressions presented by phraseological units on the basis of their correlation with evaluation expressions (according to N. D. Arutyunova), as well as their influence on pragma-axiological and deregimentational character of modern business discourse. Thus, the following tasks have been set: to give the characteristic to the language phenomenon of phraseology; to analyse phraseological units with an evaluation element and to compare them with evaluation expressions of N. D. Arutyunova; to define character and importance of each evaluation type; to reveal the deconventional character of business discourse which is formed in connection with the active appeal of communicants to phraseological units of modal character and expressional expression of the subjective relation to the phenomena and processes of reality. The presented classification of evaluation types in pragma-communicative aspect proceeding from the initial strategies, tactics, characteristics and intensions of business discourse comes forward as the main result of the research. Proceeding from the features of communicative interaction within business communication, evaluation by communicants of the phenomena of reality is based on the purposes of business institute and can be presented by the following subtypes: nominative-actional; nominative-personal; nominative-situational; nominative evaluation of situation; nominative evaluation of a phenomenon / subject.

Ryabova M.Y. COMMA FUNCTIONS IN MODERN AMERICAN ENGLISH DISCOURSE // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2019. Issue 5 (202). P. 58-63

Introduction. The article deals with the problem of modern English punctuation in a written communication of American mass media (The New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle). The paper is focused on the rules of putting comma as a sign, the functions of which are very contradictory and diverse, since in the same syntactic contexts it can be either allowed or avoided. The analysis of the comma functioning rules is explained by the fact that this sign often replaces all other punctuation marks in modern written communication. The aim of the work is to identify and explain the principles of comma functioning in modern communication (based on the material of American English) in order to facilitate the understanding of the laws of punctuation in the English language. Material and methods. The main research methods are the method of linguistic description, syntactic analysis, interpretative method, the method of stylistic description. Results and discussion. In the undertaken analysis, we claim that in American written communication, comma performs the following set of functions: dividing or separating syntactic units within a syntactic structure, highlighting the meaning, enhancing an expressiveness and semantic significance of a syntactic element, using the sign as an individualised stylistic means of expressiveness in the text. The scientific novelty of this work is systematization and scientific classification of functions typical of a comma from the point of view of the English grammar laws and their stylistic variation, which practically were not covered in other studies on the grammar of English. Conclusion. The proposed list of functions performed by comma in a modern American discourse allows us to offer students studying English a relatively complete overview of the possible meanings characteristic of this sign, and thus, remove some difficulties in understanding and mastering the syntactic theory of English.
