Skripchenko N.V., Mishankina N.A. THE PRAGMATIC ASPECTS OF SCIENTIFIC DISCOURSE (CONTENT-ANALYTICAL STUDY OF DISSERTATION HEADINGS) // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2018. Issue 6 (195). P. 16-23

One of the leading directions of research in contemporary Russian and foreign linguistics is the study of discourse. In this article we are talking about a scientific discourse that differs from other types of discourse and has its clear characteristics, requirements and design. Scientific discourse, according to most researchers, is objectified, but as a sphere of human activity, it can not escape the influence of the author’s personality. The primary stage in the creation of a scientific text is the choice of a theme that reflects the title of the text, i.e. already at this stage a pragmatic aspect may appear. Creating the scientific text, the author puts his subjective view, evaluation on the subject of research, also focuses on the reader who will perceive the text, and therefore the position and opinion of the author of the text, agreeing with it or not agreeing, but provoking a reaction and receiving a response to the text. To test this hypothesis, a content analysis of theses on the specialty “General History (of the corresponding period)” was conducted for the period from 1980 to 2010 and revealed the relationship between the choice of the topic of the dissertation and the socio-political situation.

Knyazeva H.N. Autopoiesis of Thought // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2008. Issue 1 (75). P. 46-55

Prospects of application of the nonlinear dynamical approach to the understanding of consciousness and its cognitive functions are under discussion in the article. A whole number of notions of nonlinear dynamics are involved in the epistemological analysis, such as the fast hyperbolic, avalanche-like growth, multitude of alternative paths of development, change of a tempo of development, cycles of activity, thresholds of excitement, heightened sensibility in states of instability or an ability for growth of small disturbances into macrostructures, cascades of bifurcations, phase transitions, poising at the edge of chaos. It is shown that consciousness is emergent, holistic, embodied, situated, and enactive by its nature. The model of autopoiesis, i.e. of self-production and structural coupling of cognitive agent and of a medium of its activity, turns to be relevant for the understanding machinery of cognitive and creative work

The current researches on this issue are generalized. The work systematizes some main Pro and Contra factors of the inclusion, extent, methodological appropriateness of the historical linguistics lessons and tasks in the system of Russian training of foreign students. It represents the argumentation that the historical linguistic commentary is the optimal and the most effective form of teaching of the history of the Russian language for foreign audience. Some cases of its rational use are researched. In particular, one of these cases deals with the techniques of Russian words semantization. Etymological analysis is an effective method of semantization, which deals with the living connections of the word. Conscious awareness of the Russian language actualizes a conscious study of non-systemic facts of the Russian phonetics, grammar and spelling. Historical linguistic commentary for foreign audience also has great cultural potential. The internal form of the words allows understanding the Russian language consciousness and receiving objective information about Russian culture. Another actual problem is the adequate perception of authentic texts as products and representations of its era. The article results may be used in linguodidactics, methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language and the practice of teaching the Russian language to foreign students.

Lutsenko A.V. APPLICATION OF ALEXANDER BOGDANOV’S TECTOLOGICAL SYSTEM ANALYSIS IN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH PROCESS // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2018. Issue 1 (190). P. 211-217

The article considers the method of tectological system analysis which was developed by Alexander Bogdanov (1873–1928) for research of complex social, economic and political processes on the basis of natural sciences regularities. The author compares Bogdanov’s method with other later created forms of system analysis and estimates their comparative effectiveness in the sphere of historical events and forecasting of social crises. States the fact of some tectological key regularities adoption in the process of L. von Bertalanfi’s general system theory and N. Weiner’s cybernetics development. Shows the methodological limitation of the general system theory, cybernetics and I. Prigozhin’s synergetrics which can’t be applied for researching transformational processes in social, economic, political, cultural and ideological spheres of society’s life. Proposes an essentially new concept of historical process as an organized sequence of the facts unified by functionally chained causal relationships, the very existence of them which excludes multiplied interpretation of the events recorded in historical sources. The author proves that such perception of social reality (essential characteristic of which is a historical process) caused the hyper-crytical attitude to Bogdanov’s method of tectological system analysis om the part of scientists of the 20th and 21th centuries, though the heuristic potential of Bogdanov’s theory for historical events research remains high.

Mlinarova B., Kotyurova M.P. USAGE OF PARTICLES COMPLEX IN NEWSPAPER DISCOURSE // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2018. Issue 6 (195). P. 24-30

The article deals with the discourse markers, which are complexes of particles, in the functional and stylistic aspect on the basis of articles devoted to the topics on culture, politics and economics, in federal and local newspapers of Perm Krai. It is noted that in the analyzed articles are widely used complex discourse markers, consisting of particles as “i”, “dazhe”, “eshche”, “tozhe”, “tol‘ko”, “ved‘”, etc. The examples of the most used particles show the realization of semantic and pragmatic properties of the particle complexes in the newspaper discourse, which proves the ability of particles to be easily combined with each other and form different complexes. In the „Russian grammar” of 1980 is asserted that the complex composition is primarily characteristic of modal particles. According to observations of T. M. Nikolaeva, the composition of particle complexes includes unions, and sometimes whole sentences as phrasemes. In our opinion, the discursive complex includes not only modal particles. We show examples of such discursive complexes as “dazhe i ne”, “eshche i”, “khot‘ i”, “da i”, “ved‘ i”, “tol‘ko ne”, “da eshche”, “ved‘ imenno”, “ved‘ dazhe”, etc. We specify their semantics and function in different contexts of utterance. Using these complex discourses is achieved strengthening of negation, addition, specification, accession, separation, concessive values and also specifies the event condition. In addition, it has been found that a complex discursive consists of a dominant component and one or more optional forcing components. Functional and semantic analysis of these and other complex discourses make sure that such discourse markers force, strengthen value of a certain component of the statement. In general, it can be said that in the newspaper texts discourse show the ability of particles to enter the complexes. Thus, it can be argued that not only individual particles, but also – especially – the particle complexes express in each statement certain shades of additional meanings. The particles expand their capabilities as the discourse marks in semantic and functional relations.

Fomin A.G., Arkhipova E.V. NOMINATIONS IN THE SPHERE OF SOCIAL DISEASES AS A RESULT OF LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL TRANSFER // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2019. Issue 5 (202). P. 45-52

Introduction. The aim of the article is to identify and describe the main characteristics and variants of the linguistic and cultural transfer of nominations of social diseases. Material and methods. The study material includes nominations related to the sphere of social diseases in the amount of 700 units selected by targeted sampling from bilingual and multilingual medical dictionaries, dictionaries of foreign words, scientific and popular scientific literature and texts of social advertising. For the semantic and etymological analysis of nominations that have undergone linguistic and cultural transfer, the study used the method of comparative typology, to determine the value of the nomination of socially significant diseases the study used the method of historical interpretation. Results and discussion. In this study, linguistic and cultural transfer is considered as transferring or borrowing units of one linguistic culture to another. The transfer may affect not only similar linguistic cultures that have historically conditioned connections, but also cultures belonging to completely different types, which is quite characteristic of the sphere of social diseases. At the same time, units of one linguistic culture undergo a process of not only borrowing, but also penetrating into the host culture, go through all the stages of adaptation in it. Thus, there are 3 main characteristics of the linguistic and cultural transfer of social diseases: the extensiveness of the process of the linguistic and cultural transfer reflecting the quantitative increase in the number of loanwords in the linguistic culture; the intensity of the process of linguistic and cultural transfer, in which there is a qualitative borrowing of units of another linguistic culture; the prevalence of linguistic and cultural transfer, when loanwords are transferred in several linguistic cultures. Conclusion. The main variants of the linguistic and cultural transfer are the transition of lexical units from everyday vocabulary into terminology, eponimization, polysemy and synonymy of nominations in the sphere of social diseases. In addition, the problem of the disorder of nominations in the field of social diseases in different linguistic cultures is quite acute, which can lead to disruptions in the exchange of information at the international level and difficulties in translation.

The article analyses issues of the English language teaching concerning foreign language mastering and considers the ways to organize listening, ESP reading and develop the skills of writing. The paper focuses the reader’s attention on exercises classification to develop these skills and highlights the main differences in delivering the English language to the students who study linguistic and nonlinguistic subjects. Nowadays it is difficult to overestimate the importance of the English language for the students of nonlinguistic specialties because only if they know English they can communicate with foreign colleagues and share their best practice. The authors stress that it is necessary to use discursive analysis while teaching students of nonlinguistic specialties because it helps to receive the information about nonlinguistic factors. Moreover, teachers have to apply individual and differentiated approach because students of nonlinguistic specialties usually have different level of knowledge. And in this case the entry test can be useful but it is important to remember that entry test is not the best means of estimating students’ English level and it has some deficiencies. At the same time one of the most important thing during working with future translators and teachers of English is home reading which allows to give the information not only about language but also about culture and history.

The article examines teaching methods aimed at developing students’ intercultural communicative competence whilst studying interpretation using collaborative activity pedagogy developed by G. N. Prozumentova. A special attention is paid to description of three collaborative activity organization models (authoritative, leadership, partnership). Authoritative model corresponds to closed collaborative activity which depends solely on the educator without any go-aheadedness of the learner; leadership model corresponds to “adressed” collaborative activity which implies a certain dialog between the educator and the learner, thus a certain independence of the learner; partnership model is associated with open collaborative activity involving a full-scale dialog between two equal partners - the learner and the educator. The partnership model is presumed as the most effective way of forming students’ intercultural communicative competence since it allows the partners to develop their own meanings, to grow personally and to encourage mutual personal enrichment. The educational experiment designed to develop intercultural communicative competence included different types of translation and interpretation exercices. These learning tasks were classified as either reproductive, constructive or creative which corresponds to three collaborative activity model types. The research has proved that the co-organisation of all three models with an emphasis laid to open (partnership) model has found to be the most effective way of developing students’ intercultural communicative competence as well as their interpretation skills.

Ol’khovskaya A.I. USING CORPUS DATA IN TEACHING RUSSIAN // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2019. Issue 2 (199). P. 98-107

Introduction. Having emerged as a tool of linguistic analysis, the corpus is now actively interpreted in terms of language learning. It allows us to speak about the formation of a new direction in humanitarian education – corpus teaching. Material and methods. The article deals with the consideration of the сorpus methodical potential in the field of student’s research work organization. It demonstrates the problem and project exercises that can be used in the practice of teaching the Russian language and the disciplines of the cycle “Modern Russian Language” (spelling, morphology, lexicology, orthology, etc.). The main target audience of the tasks are philology students, though with some adaptations they can be applied in the Russian language school course as well. Results and discussion. The presented tasks are aimed to the analysis of such phenomena as genus changing of nouns, polysemy, borrowed vocabulary, neologisms, the establishment of the words authorship and time of their appear in the language, outdated vocabulary and thematic groups using corpus data. To solve the tasks, students need to use such tools of the Russian National Corpus as lexico-grammatical search, search by semantic markup, ordering the results by date of creation, setting the sub-corpus and showing statistical information. In some tasks, the use of the corpus is combined with reference to the traditional means of learning – the dictionary. Comparison of vocabulary and corpus information allows to combine regulatory and customary approaches to the study of language and significantly expand the student’s understanding of it. The author describes the search mechanics needed to complete the tasks and gives methodological comments on the estimated results of the students and the teacher’s actions. The commentary is structured so that the reader could easily see the discussion potential of the educational material. The source for the tasks described in the article was the Russian National Corpus. Conclusion. In the end, the author draws conclusions about the pedagogical specificity of the corpus. According to the author, the corpus is an effective base for the implementation of the problem-based learning method and the project method, and its use allows students to look at the language as a living, mobile organism.
