Khatyamova M.A. “THE SMALL TEMPLE OF THE SPIRIT”: THE ONTOLOGY OF SPACE AND THINGS IN M. A. OSORGIN’S PROSE. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2019. Issue 1 (198). P. 97-104

Introduction. The article investigates the small prose of the representative of the Russian emigration of the first wave of M. A. Osorgin in the aspect of function and semantics of the second half of the 1920s. Materials and research methods. The material of the study is the stories of M.A. Osorgin of the second half of the 1920s - “Pensnes”, “Mother’s Portrait”, “Father’s Diary”, “Things of Man”. The work uses structural semiotic, functional-typological, hermeneutic approaches to the analysis of literary text. Results and discussion. M. Osorgin possessed a strong mindset, a talent for spatial vision and memory, which led to his passion for collecting and special power over him of the things related to the lost past, with dear people and key events of emigrant existence. A great place in the life of the writer was occupied by collecting books (organization and work to save rare books in the “Bookstore of Writers”, which he gave a lot of effort in 1918-22, the creation of personal libraries, despite the numerous travels and two emigrations); Osorgin’s other affection was the sweetheart’s personal belongings. Conclusion. It is argued that the aesthetic novelty and artistic depth in the non-anthropocentric world of the author is achieved through various options of “translation” of empirical things in their artistic correspondence, which allows us to talk about the philosophy and poetics of things in the writer’s small prose. It is proved that in the stories “Mother’s Portrait”, “Father’s Diary”, “Clock”, “Pince-nez” “belonings of a man” are endowed with a status equal to a person, their existence is ontologized (along with nature, the animal world and the human): objects have a unique character, they live their lives, but they are also an integral part of human destiny, “inhabit” significant spaces of human existence, become the starting point of the plot understanding the fate of a loved one and the life of the author-narrator. Traced the changing semantics of things, which from a sign of a lost homeland and childhood (memory) turns into the occasion to reflect on their own destiny and character (self-knowledge of the author), and also allows you to unravel the mysteries of individual existence and the universal ontological connection of the living and non-living existence (“death” thing after the death of the owner and turning into a thing of the past).

Zavjalova O.S. ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TEACHING OBJECTIVES AND TEACHING RESOURCES IN THE ELECTRONIC COURSE ON EXTENSIVE AND INTENSIVE READING FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2019. Issue 2 (199). P. 82-89

The article discusses one of the most urgent applied problems of language teaching: the creation of didactic materials of a new generation based on information and communication technologies (ICT) and the Internet. First of all, we consider the already existing experience in using ICT and the Internet in education in the USA and Western Europe, where the process to introduce digital technologies in education started much earlier than in Russia. The review of experience of introducing this kind of training materials into practice provides grounds for asserting that the use of ICT and Internet technologies in developing teaching materials creates new opportunities and also new (not yet fully studied) difficulties. It is shown that the means of presenting information (and, therefore, its format) impacts the nature of information processing, assimilation and retention: digital texts are much less fully and accurately comprehended by readers than texts in the traditional format (printed on paper). This is due to the psycho-physiological and psychological mechanisms of perception and comprehension of text information given on paper and on the monitor screen. Further, processing a digital text causes the reading activity itself to be transformed. Now the complete set of reading skills, needed for in-depth processing of information, independent text analysis, is not required. Finally, the norms of organization of texts posted on the Web are changing. “Traditional” texts (including classical scientific, literary texts), constructed according to other models, cannot be fully perceived and comprehended from the monitor screen. The above-mentioned difficulties in a number of cases (for example, when teaching extensive and intensive reading) become a serious obstacle to the realization of teaching objectives. Understanding the emerging problems allows us to formulate new methodological challenges a teacher faces when preparing e-learning courses on extensive and intensive reading for foreign students, and also to suggest some practical steps aimed at solving these problems.

Pankratova L.V. ON THE POSSIBLE ORIGINS OF THE BEAR IMAGE ICONOGRAPHY IN THE KULAI REPOUSSAGE. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2015. Issue 9 (162). P. 247-254

The sculpture of the ancient inhabitants of Western Siberia was studied in order to identify the origins of the iconography of the image of bear in the cultic repoussage of the Kulai community of the early Iron Age. It was established that the figurines of a bear standing on four paws, and the image of the beast’s head are genetically related to similar types of the sculpture that appeared in the Neolithic Era. The images of a bear standing on its hind paws became popular on the eve of the Iron Age under the influence of the forest-steppe ethnocultural impacts. The partial images are undergoing the process of rearchaization and form compositions known as a bear in the «sacrificial posture». Iconographic types reflect different semantic layers, representing, in particular, social symbols.

Zhilicheva G.A. THE METAPHOR IN THE NARRATIVE STRUCTURE (BASED ON B. PASTERNAK'S NOVEL DOCTOR ZHIVAGO). Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2014. Issue 11 (152). P. 83-88

Modern understanding of such concepts as discourse metaphor and metaphorical subtexts are being described. A hypotheses that the metaphorical fields play the integrating role being the bridge between referent and communical sides of the narrative is being suggested. The analysis of the ways of metaphorical indexation of a narrative strategy is based on B. Pasternak's novel Doctor Zhivago. Narrative strategy is regarded as a kind of interaction between the subject, object and adressee of discourse. B. Pasternak's novel implements the strategy of 'revelation' bearing such important characteristics as narrator being an impersonal one, the story being a 'quest for the sence', convergent position of a reader being programmed. This communication model is expressed not only at the levels of plot events and themes, but also by using specific metaphorical fields. This article deals with the particular subtext of 'cover and revelation' which is represented in the text of the novel by images of fabric, threads, sewing, knitting that can be found in descriptions of many different plot events and characters. Conclusion is drawn that the narration in the novel is a 'cover' for poetry and, contrawise, Zhivago's poems depend of the narrative events.

This article represents pun as a part of non-equivalent vocabulary and possible ways of its translation. Pun is a concept that cannot be translated directly between languages that is why it often becomes the reason why translators struggle so much while finding the right solution when dealing with puns. Puns represent British culture and British humour. Puns are the reason why British humour is often called dry and why other people like Russians often find it unfunny. Such assumptions can happen due to the poor Russian translation where the pun doesn’t obtain the original comicality it previously had. To avoid this a translator needs to transfer the English pun into the Russian language without losing its comicality. The main objective for a translator is to understand the pun and keep its comicality along with author’s intention. To achieve this he can use the right translation transformations. The right choice of the translation transformation is necessary for a good translation. Having met this condition the translation can be considered as equivalent to the original text. In the present article we compared the original English text containing puns and its 6 translations in order to find those translation transformations which are the most suitable and which keep the comicality of the original text.

Tolstolutskaya E.V., Sleptsova S.V., Svishchev G.V. EUPHEMIZATION OF THE HEADER STRUCTURES OF POLITICAL ARTICLES (ON THE MATERIAL OF CONTEMPORARY FRENCH NEWSPAPERS). Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 6 (183). P. 91-95

The paper deals with the header structures of political articles, which include euphemisms and are taken from contemporary French newspapers. Considering the tense political situation in the world, euphemistic titles in the articles on political topics become increasingly relevant. They provide a smoothing effect of the emotional impact on the political discourse. Mass media titles and headers serve to partially reveal the text’s information and make a certain impact on the reader. Euphemism is considered as a word used for the sake of decency and discretion, to avoid mentioning unpleasant or shocking reality. As used in the press language, euphemisms render negative referents in terms of information. Their task is to modify the situation through a process of denomination and alleviative processing. Headers of political articles are classified by the type of negative revaluation of referents: understatement, axiological neutralization, improvement. Understatement in the French-language journalism is often implemented through euphemisms formed by meiosis, because they contain inherently weak negative denotation. Axiological neutralization contributes to veiling the true situation. Titles of articles are included in the policy framework shaped euphemistic statements, which make reality less dramatic, and are an essential component of the text itself. They embody a certain judgment about the current political situation. Authors neutralize the negative characteristics contained in the original concept, causing less dramatic reality that promotes the manipulation of mass consciousness. When using the improvement technique, negative formulation gives way to a more positive. Thus, the euphemisms substitute for unwanted words or expressions, which could cause a backlash in a particular situation, for the ones with a neutral connotation.

The result is to form an understanding of the typological picture of the Ob-Yenisei language area with respect to the word order and communicative structure of the sentence. The article is finished with a brief review of prospective directions of the researches which are to be fulfilled on the materials of underdescribed and highly endangered languages. The indigenous population of Siberia has faced difficulties in describing the language picture of the world on the material and spiritual culture of ethnic minorities. The Ob-Yenisei language area has not been described on individual grammatical categories in the functional and typological perspective, and the problem with the lexical typology, and syntax, does not contain an investigation in the areal aspect. Kondakova I.V. BASIC FORMS OF TRAINING ORGANIZATION IN THE UNIVERSITY UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF DISTANCE EDUCATION. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2021. Issue 5 (217). P. 62-68

Introduction. Distance education at the present stage of the development of world educational practice has become global. The range of educational services has expanded significantly; the number of educational organizations and institutions involved in this form of education has increased; a huge number of students use the Internet, gadgets and knowledge-based services. Distance education allows, if necessary, using the Internet to obtain “remote” education. This need today has become the epidemiological situation in the world with the spread of infection caused by coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (2019-nCoV). The aim of the study was to analyze and characterize the main effective forms of organizing education in higher education in the new conditions of organizing the educational process. Material and methods. The material for the study was the work of domestic and foreign researchers, considering the problems and advantages of distance education: A. A. Andreeva, I. A. Kuznetsova, A. G. Slomchinskaya, E. A. Taushkanova, J. S. Brown, Y. B. Kolikant, M. Miah & A. Omar, as well as materials obtained during practical work under the conditions of “distance” in Bunin Yelets State University. Theoretical and methodological analysis, comparison, method of pedagogical interpretation of data, generalization, concretization were used as methods in the work. The methodological basis of the study was the main modern psychological, sociological and philosophical provisions of the theory of personality and its development. Results and discussion. Distance education has a number of characteristic features: flexibility, modularity, innovative control of the quality of education, role repertoire of the teacher, economic benefit, etc., as well as specific principles: the principle of free access, the principle of distance, the principle of interactivity, the principle of identification, the principle of adequacy and expediency of using digital technologies in distance education. The introduction of distance education contributes to the emergence of new, more effective educational forms, the development of which is based on the listed characteristics. As effective forms of distance education, one can consider the development and implementation of the necessary for mastering the discipline of the list of basic and additional literature, educational and methodological sets of literature and tasks; sending educational materials to both students and teachers from students, using e-mail (in e-mail).; organization and conduct of discussions and consultations in online format using cloud platforms ZOOM, Jitsi, etc., free application WhatsApp for personal smartphones, social network VKontakte, application Telegram, etc.; development and implementation of computer databases, electronic textbooks, etc.; videoconferences similar to live TV shows with the opportunity for viewers to call the “hotline” and ask their questions, etc. Video lecture is also an effective form of distance education, allowing to reach a large number of students, activating the mental delicacy of students and motivating for independent search within the framework of the studied discipline. Conclusion. In modern conditions, the use of remote educational technologies has a large number of advantages. Since distance education has a wide range of multimedia, interactive, communicative and technical capabilities, contributes to the formation and development of ICT competence, expands the range of opportunities for the use of various information tools, it can organically weave into the full-time learning system, or become a significant alternative to traditional learning. The effectiveness and success of the introduction of distance education technologies depend on the competent and high-quality organization of the educational process and the use of effective forms of education.

Zemdikhanov V.A. PROBLEMS IN ORGANIZATION OF THE TRANSPORT SERVICE DURING THE BATTLE OF THE LAKE KHASAN 1938, 29 JULY – 11 AUGUST. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 9 (186). P. 59-65

The article considers the material and technical support service of the Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army during the fighting near Lake Khasan from July 29 to August 11, 1938, in particular, the chronology of the transport service activities and the problems in organizing the delivery of ammunition, food, engineering materials and other materials necessary for combat operations. The problem of material support of troops is closely examined in the key of the Soviet-Finnish war and the Great Patriotic War. At the same time, little attention is paid to previous conflicts: the conflict on the Chinese Eastern railway, fighting at Lake Khasan and the conflict on the Khalkhin-Gol river, although they had a significant impact on the structure of the material support service. In 1939 the final Field Charter of the Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army was adopted, in which the main functions of combat and material support services were registered. The purpose of this article is to study the actions of the transport service from various points of view: from the organization of the delivery of ammunition to the organization of roads to the site of the fights. Before the start of the fighting, the only road reached Novo-Kievskoe village (since 1936, Kraskino), but it was also washed away by downpours going in the region at this time of the year. There was no land road from Novo-Kievskoye to Lake Khasan; it was built after the end of the fighting. The organization of material support in the area of Lake Khasan showed the resilience and readiness of Soviet people to resist foreign aggression, but at the same time it revealed significant shortcomings that existed in one form or another until the middle of the Great Patriotic War, which shows that despite the appearance of errors, nobody took proper measures to eliminate them.
