| 6252 | In the article specifics of medical knowledge are clarified and logical-methodological foundations of individuality problematics in bioethics are proved. The article represents the results of conducting RFH project № 15–03–00598 and RFBR project № 14–06–00440. In the article the problem of logic-methodological foundations of bioethics definition is posed. To solve it the author clarifies specifics of medicinal knowledge. First of all, medicine can be treated both as an art and as a science. The second, medicine has some specific features as any other science. Historian of culture Carlo Ginzburg ranks medicine among the so called “clue” disciplines. Such disciplines address individual cases that may be reconstructured via traces and symptoms only. Thus allows to fulfill integral attitude to patient but do not add to medicine scientific character. The situation changes while bioethical model is strengthening in Western medicine deepening the gap between exclusively individual experience of disease and impersonal-anonymous medical theory. Specifics of medicinal knowledge are based on David Greaves conception. At first, medicinal knowledge contains considerable part of uncertainty elements (diagnostic hypothesis and prognosis are of plausible nature), secondly, medicinal knowledge does not belong to closed restricted circle of professionals, finally, that knowledge is a combination of technological (or objective) and humanitarian (or subjective) components. It is bioethics that pose a problem of dualistic interpretation of “all-purpose” and “existential” medicinal knowledge today as well as issue the challenge to overcome a gap between “two cultures” (medicine as an art and medicine as a science). That will allow to “turn” medicine to a patient as a personality and individuality. It is mentioned that conception of “medicinal cosmology” (D. Greaves) allows to include morality and cultural questions in medicinal area together with technological which make possible to increase taking individual into consideration in modern medicinal theory and practice. In conclusion author summarizes epistemological features of medicine caused by gap between “two cultures” in medicine and dual nature of medicinal knowledge (as nomothetic and ideographic science) and actualizes patients' individuality (in its different manifestations) in bioethics. | 6272 | Introduction. The article is devoted to the analysis of linguistic units that verbalize the category of visual perception in the Sakha language in the cognitive-semiotic aspect. The study of major categories, such as perception, is one of the important objectives of modern anthropological linguistics, in the center of which is a person as a cognitive-perceptual subject, the functions of his cognitive (perceptual) system and the world of human experience. Material and methods. The research material used is the dictionaries of the Sakha language, the corpus of the Sakha language, literary works. The authors implement a cognitive-semiotic approach based on modern interdisciplinary theories of perception. The representation of the category of visual perception in the Sakha language is considered in three main perspectives – semantic, syntactic and metaphorical. Results and discussion. The article presents a detailed description of the Sakha language vocabulary related to the verbalization of the process of visual perception. Through such vocabulary, the speaker sets a variety of parameters of perception: spatial, temporal, qualitative, evaluative, expressive and modal. Also, the syntactic features of visual perception lexicon are considered, namely, significant combinations of the nuclear verb kör with adverbs characterizing the process of visual perception and expressing the observer’s evaluation. Conclusion. The data obtained indicate that in most cases the lexemes of visual perception serve to denote not only the actual process of perception, but have a huge signemic potential covering different spheres of human activity. The leading parameter, as shown by cognitive-semiotic analysis, is evaluative. Almost every lexeme of the Sakha lexicon contains a personal assessment of not only the process, but also the participants of visual perception. The vocabulary of visual perception thus plays a huge role in cognition and signification of the world. What is specific to the Sakha language is that visual vocabulary performs a modal-expressive function and carries a huge amount of information about the attitude of the speaking subject to the participants of the process of visual perception, about the evaluation of the process itself and the situation as a whole. | 6277 | The article is devoted to the peculiarities of the translation of socio-political vocabulary in the context of the analysis of the strategies used by translators J. Cournos, L. Viardot, A. Faizi in the translation of «Taras Bulba» by N. V. Gogol, the special significance of which currently prompts the search for criteria for assessing the degree of compliance with the subject content of the original and translations in English, French and Tatar, respectively. The military-administrative and military-historical realionyms of the subject-thematic area «socio-political relations», the group «military-administrative structure of society» are recognized as the exponent of the implementation of these strategies. These realionyms and their trilingual equivalents are compared in terms of the use of domestication and foreignization strategies. The aim of the article is to identify convergent and divergent strategies in translations of military-administrative and military-historical realionyms of the original text in order to assess the quality of translations. The corpus of 28 military-administrative realionyms of «Taras Bulba» (1842) by N. V. Gogol selected from the point of view of belonging to the subject area «Social and political relations», taking into account symptomatic statistics, that is, the frequency of occurrence in the original text. The object of the article is formed by 84 equivalents of the indicated realionyms recorded in the texts of translations, which were made in English by J. Cournos (1952), French by L. Viardot (1853) and Tatar by A. Fayzi (1953). The subject of the article is the strategies of convergence and divergence of the subject content of N.V. Gogol «Taras Bulba». The work used general and particular scientific methods. The methods of logic (analysis, induction, comparison, grouping) and statistics (sampling method, analysis of correspondences) belong to general scientific ones, and the comparative method belongs to private scientific ones. Foreignization increases from the English translation of J. Cournos from 43% of socio-political vocabulary to 93% in the Tatar translation of A. Faizi. L. Viardot foreignized 53% of realionyms in the French text of the translation. 12 out of 84 translation solutions are divergent to the original text, six of them are contained in the English translation. 54 out of 84 units were borrowed by translators using the methods of transliteration and transcription, as well as unreasonable capitalization of realionyms. It can be stated that the quality of the translation was affected by the following translation errors: the omission of the realionym, its replacement, inappropriate modernization (use of anachronism), incorrect capitalization, the presence of «false friends of the translator»; factual errors. The analysis of translation strategies for realionyms from the point of view of the implementation of convergence and divergence strategies can be one of the criteria for the quality of a translator’s work. The choice of a convergent strategy is a basic condition for the implementation of a better translation and, thereby, the reproduction of the original author’s intention by means of the target language, while the choice of the opposite, divergent, strategy is highly likely to distort the realities of the source text, misleading the recipient about the subject content of the original. The expression of the strategies of convergence and divergence at the elementary (microstylistic) level in the translation of realionymic vocabulary is domestication and foreignization. | 6278 | The pluricentricity of the English language depends on its contact interaction with other languages and cultures. The purpose of the work is to identify the specifics of the phenomenon of “nativization” on the example of the current state of the English language functioning in Nigeria, through the study of modern mass media, in view of the dialect continuum and multilingualism, based on the dynamic theory of E. Schneider, which postulates a uniform process occurring with a language when it appears in a foreign land. It is established that the Nigerian English tends to the trend of linguistic homogenization. The current state of the studied variant is characterized by the stage of nativization, affecting the phase of endonormative stabilization, in view of written codification of the language, through the publication of Nigerian English Dictionaries and the publication of national literature in Nigerian English. It was revealed that language interference does not occur in a one-dimensional manner, affecting the state of Nigerian English and autochthonous languages. This situation leads to linguistic differentiation when speakers of different ethnic communities adapt English to their own linguistic peculiarities. It is determined that nativization is characteristic of the lexical, syntactic, phonetic levels of Nigerian English functioning in the English-speaking Nigerian media. At the lexical level, high-frequency interchanges of words and expressions occur, both from autochthonous languages into English and vice versa, which leads to situational code-switching among native speakers. Syntactic nativization is characterized by the construction of sentences in Nigerian English in accordance with the syntactic rules of indigenous languages. Phonetic nativization manifests itself in the adaptation of consonants’ system (replacement of consonant sounds with analogues of autochthonous languages) and vocalism’ system (quantitative reduction of vowel). A specific feature of soundpronunciation speech of Nigerian English speakers is observed by using of speech rhythm (or tone), which leads to the syllabic pronunciation of words and the stress shift. | 6281 | The article presents the analysis of the initial stage of the formation of existential consciousness of Dostoyevsky. The family sphere finds orientation of parents of the writer to values of traditional family and patriarchal model of education. Orientation to traditional values in Dostoyevsky’ family is implemented at the level of the principles of interpersonal interaction (monogamy, possession of many children, respect and esteem for seniors) and priorities in upbringing of children (reliance on education and diligence, schooling to truth, decency, responsibility, love for the country and national culture). The research of the facts of Dostoyevsky’s childhood allows to allocate three interconnected directions of education of the valuable sphere of his daily and existential consciousness: emotional, semantic, religious. United in a single fundamental event by the fate of the writer, they serve as peculiar symptoms of awareness of the existence by Dostoyevsky the child, bound indissolubly to light and a word as in the ways of perceiving being and self-realization of oneself in it. Of particular importance in this process – in addition to family reading and lessons in the Law of God, pilgrimage trips to the Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra – is training in boarding schools, the first experience of Dostoevsky’s clash with the outside world, the shock of meeting with his own self, an independent attempt to realize “non-alibi in being” through the acquisition of the ability to speak on its own behalf. During this period reading becomes a way of formation of a semantic resource of his personality, a way of a seclusion and reflection in boarding house. Understanding of himself in life, procedurally mastered in the childhood, forms the the value-semantic sphere of daily and existential consciousness of Dostoyevsky and is implemented in text activity. Experience of own childhood as a moral guideline will become for the writer a criterion of differentiation “before” and “now”, “family” and “casual family” as different spiritual and moral ways of existence. Systematic destruction of the spiritual bases of family, neglect to the performance of parental and filial responsibilities, education of cynicism, indifference, denial leads to loss of sense of existence. Semantic capacity of the image of family and behavioural family tradition are the basis for formation of the image of the world in Dostoyevsky’s “Writer`s diary” and novels of the Great Pentateuch. From the idea of family as a phenomenon of the Russian life a positive program of overcoming spiritual crisis of mankind is built in his works. Keywords: F. M. | 6293 | Introduction. At present, the study of the linguistic picture of the world is carried out in various fields of the humanities. Verbalization and reconstruction of an individual picture of the world are one of the most important tasks of modern linguistics, this is carried out on the basis of an analysis of specific concepts. This article discusses the concept of theater in the individual-author’s world picture of M. Plisetskaya. The aim of our study is determining the conceptual, figurative and evaluative components of the concept of theater, which are characteristic of the individual author’s world picture of Maya Plisetskaya (M. P.) in the background of the national picture of the world. Material and methods. The study is based on the book of memoirs of the ballerina Maya Plisetskaya “I, Maya Plisetskaya”, as well as the National Corpus of the Russian Language and lexicographic sources of various types. In this study we use traditional methods and techniques of semasiological research (component, definitional, contextual, discursive analysis), and the results of these analyzes are consistently comprehended from cognitive perspective and, as a result, mental models are built. Results and discussion. Theater in the Russian picture of the world is one of the main concepts, it occupies an important place in the author’s world picture of M. Plisetskaya. Comparison of materials from explanatory and associative dictionaries and analyzes of fragments of texts, which are extracted from the National Corpus of the Russian Language, allow us to identify the conceptual, figurative and evaluative features of the concept in the national picture of the world. In Russian culture and literature, theater not only refers to art, but also affects the moral qualities of people, brings to them aesthetic pleasure, and contributes to the development of individual. We modeled the associative-semantic field of theater in memoir discourse to reconstruct the individual-author’s theater. The field includes 263 lexemes, divided into 6 microfields: dance and music terminology, theater as a building or place, people related to the theater, various types of theatrical activity, attributes of theatrical activity and theater in the system of the Soviet state. Having identified associations and evaluative discourses, which are associated with theater, we found high emotionality and expressiveness, the features of the theater (in most cases the Bolshoi Theater) at the value level can be divided into 4 parts: Bolshoi Theater in the paradigm of Soviet power, backstage of the Bolshoi, theater as heavy and dangerous work, and Bolshoi as the life and fate of M. Plisetskaya. Conclusion. M. P. saw the theater from the inside, this allows us to reveal the features of the concept in her individual author’s picture of the world: at the conceptual level, theater is wider and richer than in the national picture of the world, our associative-semantic field includes lexemes, which are associated with the stage, ballet, music, audience, ideological censorship, etc. At the figurative and value levels, in the author’s view, theater is multifaceted; For the author, in her youth it appears as a source of pleasure and joy in difficult times, then the concept of theater correlates only with the Bolshoi, it becomes emotionally and evaluatively complicated: attitude of M. P. to theater is ambivalent: indignation, contempt for the Bolshoi in the paradigm of Soviet power, on the other hand, for M. P. theater is all her life, When it is about the stage, the public, and the creativity of the ballet, there are often positive emotional assessments. Value signs are expressed by emotional and evaluative vocabulary, linguistic and occasional metaphors, syntactic parallelism and emotional contrast. | 6297 | The article presents a fragment of the analysis of the semantics of reflexive denominative dialect verbs in order to study the pragmatic aspects of the linguistic meaning. The scientists opinions about the concept of reflexivity, the classification of reflexive verbs are presented. The place of the analyzed verbs among different classes of reflexive verbs is described. It is determined that the reflexive verbs belong to the group of the deponent verbs. The semantic diversity of the postfix -sja (-ся) is identified. The reflexive morpheme has not only grammatical meanings, it necessarily performs the word-formation function and participates in the creation of a set of units with a new lexical meaning. The classification of the ways of word formation of reflexive dialect verbs is carried out in accordance with such a classification of common Russian verbs. Most of the dialect verbs do not have common meanings, but individual ones. The cognitive models characterizing the kinds of actions represented by denominative reflexive verbs are defined. The examples of the verb propositions are given. It is established that the characterizing reflexive verbs can be mono- and polypropositional structures. It turned out that these denominations can be represented by the denominative verbs indicating a subject, object and propositions. This is due to the types of situations reflected: characteristics of internal and external qualities of a person and human relationships. Most polypropositional denominations appeared on the basis of metaphors. Many structures of metaphorical verbs include the Mode of the fictitious nature and the assessment Mode, expressing the attitude of the Speaker towards the signified. The fictitious and evaluative modality can be complicated by emotive modality – disapproval, neglect. The resulting expression is purely word-formational in its nature. The use of complex methods of the formation (suffixal-postfixal; prefixsuffixal- postfixal) for many characterizing verbs is one of the means of expression creation. The reflexive postfix of the denominative verbs does not perform its function of the actant derivation indicator. The postfix -sja does not mark the actant derivation, but the number of participants, the degree of agentivity and other parameters of the situation. In some cases, the choice of a reflexive / non-reflexive variant of the denominative verb to denote the characterizing name is not always explainable. | 6300 | Introduction. Categories, traditionally studied in philosophy, got into the sphere of linguistic interests with the development of cognitive investigations in linguistics, motivated by the fact that cognitive process of category formation is completed with the acquisition by the category of its name. Among various types of categories relevant for cognitive studies ontological and modus categories are found, some of them are formed and function due to crosscorrelation. Aim. The article is devoted to the analysis of the ontological category of absence (and its concept) and to the inquiry into functional interdependence of absence and the modus category of negation on the material of the Russian and English languages. Material and methods. Conceptual and semantic derivation in the field of scientific terminology caused the philosophical notion “ontological” to develop a new meaning in the context of the notion “category”. The scientific terminological word combination “ontological category” has rather a strong position in the linguistic methodology. The attribute “ontological” specifies the type of categories that are singled out from the universal continuum of human being (language world view). Absence refers to the sphere of ontological categories of a more general, abstract group (process, state, quality, object, etc.). The corresponding concept “otsutstviye/absence” is a universal and abstract knowledge structure of basic human experience. Although the vocabulary definitions of the concept names otsutstviye and absence are extremely generalized, the contexts in which the words can be used, highlight the dominant features of the concept, pointing to the related fundamental concepts, negation as a modus category being among them. Modus concepts exist jointly with their attributive conceptual fields. “Emptiness” of the concept of negation accounts for its being built in the concept of absence, their joint representation of unified, integrated knowledge. Conclusion. The investigation helps to clarify the specificity of ontological and modus categories interaction. It can be used to develop theoretical courses on cognitive studies in linguistics, lexicology, conceptology.
